Well I mean @DonHelbig is on KIC frequently enough that there's no doubt in my mind other folks that he works with and for have probably seen and heard of the KIC discussions.

I assume that they likely have each of the tall rides properly grounded as to take the strike to the ground as opposed to through the electronics on the ride. Ya know what happens when you assume things though....

Well that explains a big question I had in my mind, which was "What are they doing with the power line running over to the area where Racer is?"

I've ridden Diamondback in a down pour before. The park was DEAD that day too, because the morning was rainy, so no one came. The afternoon was sunshine and gorgeous. We had a blast that day, other than an 80 mph ride where someone was shooting at us with paint balls effectively. LOL. It hurt, but it was fun.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't "Giga coaster" a marketing term that Intamin came up with?

For me, it's the funnel cakes. That smell. If I could have that smell in a candle, I would be set. I agree with others though that the chain grease is a smell that always hangs with me after a day of riding coasters.

It's funny you mention that, my wife's first ever ride on Banshee, she said "wow, this thing flies up the hill"

I'm apparently not of the majority that doesn't mind if I get sat with someone I don't know. That being said, I'm also the kind of weirdo that will have 5 new friends by the time I've made it through a 30 minute wait for a ride because I literally will talk to anyone around me.

I've got quite a few laps in on Diamondback. I can confidently tell you that the created feeling of the restraints on that ride is one of "I'm going to fall out of this thing" and that's in part there for the thrill factor. I've actually made full laps on that coaster with my arms in the air and my legs kicked straight out in front of me for the ultimate air time feeling. If you're questioning the ride due to the restraints, I'll warn you now, your first ride is going to feel very scary because the airtime on that coaster is amazing, and you do feel yourself coming out of the seat quite a lot, but once you get used to that feeling, it's an amazing ride.

It stands for Clermont Steel Fabricators. They are the company based in the Cincinnati area that makes the tracks and supports for B&M.

My opinion on the matter is that there are probably a lot of park chains that still have a fairly bad taste in their mouth after the whole "we're not sure what is an acceptable number" thing...

Honestly, if you're going on a Monday, there is not much chance that you'll feel like you're missing out by waiting in the regular lines. I've been on a Monday numerous times, and the waits are minimal at best.

I mean, it's probably not going to get anyone anywhere, they're opinions, and most folks aren't going to change theirs. It's healthy to have opinions!! No issue there.

Some thing I had not noticed @KIghostguy was that the umbrellas are color coded to the buildings!! As far as the fountain itself, I stood and watched it for a while when we went a couple weeks ago, and I liked it. It's a fun change, it's neat to watch, and in my opinion, taking out the pedestals actually opens up your sight line across the fountain from all directions. I like the look of it. As far as making it far more interactive, the park is trying to entertain a new generation of guests. Everything that kids today do is highly stimulating. Grand water displays that are otherwise static were neat at one point, but the kiddos now are more entertained with dancing fountains and what not. I get it.

I suppose if you were sitting on one of those toilets, it would probably serve for some double dooty.... (pun intended)

Painting numbers with lines next to them on the side of one of the footers and then changing the numbers every once in a while would be an awesome troll. LOL

Dang, that was pretty much exactly what was in my head. That looks like a fun ride experience, I'm kind of surprised that it didn't take off.

I had some kind of wild grand vision in my head that I should have tried to actually convey, but I can't really. A hybrid wing/ drop where the seats actually pivot as the come over the crest of the drop, so it's more like a drop ride through the dive was more what was in my head. Sounds like I'm in the process of developing a 100 million dollar coaster.

400 feet up in the air and then come back down to go 220 MPH? Suddenly, I'm in a place in my head where we need to talk to some of these coaster companies to see if any would be interested in doing a coaster that has a LIM launch all the way down the first drop. I think we can make 220 MPH happen that way.... I'd ride it.

What would be fun would be working out some hybrid coaster stuff. Winged dive coaster would be cool, and would create a whole new experience.

Well, please understand, The Beast shattered records when it was built. It's was the worlds longest, tallest, fastest wooden coaster built of steel, with the most inversions of its time. Completely earth moving. LOL

This, there are POV videos all over youtube of every coaster in the park. It's very much worth checking those out, as your cell phone facetime video will be a bouncy horrible mess that includes all of the air time hills where the phone on a tether comes up and smacks you in the face.

I mean... 4 if you're counting all of our inverted coasters... The Bat Banshee Invertigo Flying Ace.

So a lift hill that's 300 feet tall and then drops you 286 feet will have more potential energy than a lift hill that goes up 286 feet, but drops you 300?
