entirely valid, it does get tiresome, at least for myself, ive never put too much weight into any of the potential revivals, even when the silly rumors started around top gun being rethemed to "The (og) Bat" ive been more interested in simply documenting the goings on that relate theme/lore wise to SOB, more so IF something happened, the community would have a good basis of documentation, and thought threads to run with, because im passionate about the history and future for the storyline that went along with it. bottom line is SOB (the ride itself) SUCKED, even without the loop, that thing beat the hell out of you, even as a young kid riding it being just barely tall enough, i got tossed and was definitely sore the next day I've been at this for a hot minute, even before i found this place, and the wonderful community that exists here, so while id love to see it happen, in some form, even if its just utilizing the killer marketing and theming strategy, truthfully id just like to see the park add something cool and major that isn't another B&M, or another more traditional wooden coaster, (yes i would consider MT a more traditional wooden coaster)

On the other hand of the coin, I personally could honestly give a hoot about a vekoma madhouse, or the crypt building being used. We're all entitled to enjoy the themes, lore, history, and excitement of speculation about what we each personally enjoy. There's a whole thread for TRTR/The Crypt speculation if that's what you desire to speculate about, in fact, that's the thread that inspired my post here, but you see I brought that speculation here and made my post in this thread, because it keeps it sperated into a thread, where if you desire to see such topics, you'll know what you're clicking into. I personally grew up intimidated by that monstrous structure, always hearing stories of what awaited behind that giant lift structure. It was like myth to me then. By the time I was finally tall enough to ride it, the loop had been removed, and it was on its way out, unintentionally, my first and only ride on Son of Beast, was on its unexpected final day of operations. So yeah, it's got a special place with me, and if love to see something happen with what was, and in my opinion still would be a killer marketing strategy.

just wanna toss the thought out there, this came to mind following some speculation about The Crypt/TRTR. So ive tossed the thought out there that 2023 was not intended to be AP (which was known to be a last minute capital investment) and may have originally been planned for a major capital expenditure (new roller-coaster?) but with top thrill 2 those plans may have been shelved until 2025 (originally?) my original thought ive shared here prior, is that this was a tide over investment, as a filler to the major capital being pushed? now with the last minute additions of sirens curse at CP being announced along with the noticeable effort put into converting wolf pack into a lantern point, which im gonna add, is oddly far off the path from the other activation points (and the now removed sticky note on the prop stating "remnants of the unloved son", was this maybe not the original intention for these props? the additional thought ive had flowing from all this, is it possible that KI planned on a major addition for 2025, which was pushed again following sirens curse going to CP? additionally, as a response to the multiple delays of major capital, and the park sort of already being down a major attraction with Vortex's sudden, unplanned departure, will KI follow suit now and see two back to back years of major investment? perhaps something with the former SOB station, as well as something else with the crypt building? better yet, RMC has been busy with fire in the hole, maybe these props were turned into a redirect, and well be getting a major indoor attraction from RMC in the former crypt building? ( lore wise: maybe the son has awoken from an eternal rest, revisited its former stomping grounds during this haunt, fought and narrowly escaped the Banshee this time, and will soon find a new home right next to its father in the former crypt building?

current word from the creators who had sources disclose this to them 2 months ago (at least) is the Mack Spinner Tower Concept shown in KI's survey, is headed their way, and is being plus'ed, to instead be a 400 foot tall tower Edit: source: honestly wouldn't be a bad move in my opinion, would make Cedar Fair the only chain to have both the worlds tallest (for now lol, then North America's tallest) and worlds tallest spinning rollercoasters plus then one of the other huge parks in the chain gets a new statement piece that doesn't cramp TT2's style

honestly wouldn't surprise me one bit, it makes total sense, and we all witnessed Cedar Fair doing this to their parks prior to covid. Vortex being removed for the obvious example though i imagine the pace of high maintenance removals would likely be slower within the six flags parks, especially as their parks tend to more lacking in lineup variety IMO i gotta add as well, where theres smoke, theyre usually fire, apparently sources first disclosed this to some known content creators as far back as 2 months ago, even if this is a website edit, its entirely possible that this is still happening

yes, as far as references i can find, i personally identified the extinguished flame on august 13th, as of September 20th the flame was also documented as extinguished as seen in the reddit post im gonna go digging through youtube and see if i can find any further evidence of the flame being extinguished this year, either prior to august 13th, or in between august 13th and September 20th (which would hopefully confirm the flame being extinguished for some time here.) EDIT: video POV of Banshee identified as May 2024 shows the flame lit. Which has seemingly lead to radio silence from RMC on socials since(besides the minute tweets made upon lost island announcing their raptor), but I might speculatively add coincidentally this first original tweet was posted on August 10th, 3 days later on my mid August visit to the park, I noticed the eternal flame extinguished. (At this point I'm probably going to make a quick trip up on a tricks and treats/haunt day so I can have daylight to get some high quality shots to document these things in 4k with my mirrorless camera)

Slight spoilers below but more speculation than anything: ------------ Anyone whos been to haunt this year (lol I know) have a better opinion/idea of how the scale of investment on this Son of Beast activation point compares to the other activation points for the lanterns?? i guess another thought that comes to mind and why i ask, is does this seem like a larger investment in theming compared to the other activation points? if so potentially the dual case use that comes to mind is a combination of marketing budget and haunt budget to really sell the announcement of a new project? or get the hype train rolling for a potential 2026 capital announcement in 2025? With a tertiary benefit of a real marker point to sell the lanterns for at least 2 haunt seasons? Certainly if the shipping Crate remains (obviously probably without the lantern point activation sign, and shipping label sign referencing haunt lol) through winterfest-offseason-and into next season, there may be more to this. Number 5 is alive? (also it would be killer to see the park do a similar setup to this one done at the SOB station, but near The Vortex plot and themed to the former ride at some point in the coming seasons)

Just wanted to chime in, after seeing some disappointment that this addition didn't come to KI instead. Gonna be 100% my personal thoughts here, is even if KI was offered the opportunity to have this addition, they may have denied it. The tilt feature looks like a ton of maintenance cost lol

it name, not scope. they could call the project "big Jim's whimsical garden of farts" and it wouldn't matter, yes the intention is for the project name to be related to what the scope of the project is, but whether modifying an existing structure or commencing a new project, the name of the project could be quite literally whatever the park wants it to be, as long as the site is identified, and the actual work listed to be completed within said permits is accurate. Naming the project permit something unrelated to the work being done within the permit is far from falsifying government documents. but lets also be clear, Orion was identified by the project name "project X" would that also be falsifying government documents since it didn't use the actual name for project either!? They can call a project whatever, id argue to say the city of Mason generally has an understanding with the park about doing such things for the preservation of their marketing intentions, so even if they did quote on quote "falsify a government document", it would likely be nothing more than an ask for correction or further information from the city. the project is for commercial alterations, which could mean any amount of work to a commercial structure, anywhere within the property. yeah this is probably exactly what I stated it likely is, my brother in Christ are we not allowed to throw out wild possibilities while speculating anymore? if someone chooses to take this as factual evidence that's their prerogative I've been very unbiased and clear in everything I've posted, either my opinion, personal thoughts, or clearly labeled wild speculation. I cant make it any more clear. the only reason I made any sort of wild toss in this direction for speculation is due to the parks precedent of utilizing names unrelated to the actual project to hopefully prevent the permits being pulled and the "secret" let out early.
