How Much Longer For Boo Blasters On Boo Hill?

That’s one way to make it KI’s largest single investment lol -
It’s a concept drawing — it’s not going to be exactly like the final product.

They did? That’s currently what the rear entrance of Festhaus looks like.

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex

I could not agree more! An infinity coaster would retain the 48” height requirement, provide a unique thrilling ride, and be wonderfully photogenic. It also couldn’t really be compared to anything else in the region (mystery mine is a totally different experience than I’m picturing). I would love a heartline roll out of the station, a vertical lift, a beyond vertical drop, a midcourse rolling launch, and a bunch of inversions! I believe 9 or 10 inversions would take the North American record too. -
It’s visible in multiple of the drone videos, authorized by the park and otherwise.

How Much Longer For Boo Blasters On Boo Hill?

Bring on “The PEANUTS Enchanted Voyage Through The Phantom Theater On Scooby Doo’s Boo Hill” MACK Rides: The Rocking Boat -
I don’t foresee that building being used for a show ever again. At this point, it seems that every FEC, zoo, and museum in the country has a 4D Motion Theater. I don’t believe it would generate any hype to bring one back to KI — the public just doesn’t seem to be interested anymore. However, I don’t think the building will be removed anytime soon. The basement contains the tech services shop, the right theater is a haunt maze, and my understanding is that the left side is an entertainment workshop of sorts. From the park’s perceptive, it’s still a valuable asset. Going forward, I hope the exterior gets a facelift. In my opinion, the dated facade is a major eyesore for WindSeeker, Racer, and Orion. Making the exterior as generic as possible and painting the outside a neutral color (think “go away green”) would solve the eyesore problem. Longer term, I’d like to see both theaters completely gutted so that each could house quality mazes, and the queue and landscaping improved.

I definitely think there are some lower budget updates that could be done to Backlot. The warehouse scene in particular is ripe with opportunity — bringing back all the fire and water effects would be awesome! I would love to see the splashdown effect return, but my understanding is that the water was damaging the trains, and the piping is beyond repair at this point. I think a pretty easy change would be to change the setting from LA to Cincinnati — swap out the road signs, repaint the police cars, change the license plates, etc.

I wouldn’t necessarily retheme an entire coaster, but I would invest in upgrades to current themes. Adventure Express is obviously in need of dramatic thematic renovations. A number of coasters, like Racer and Diamondback, need a fresh coat of paint. I would also like to see queues and midway across the park have a higher level of immersion. Personally, I think capital spent on retheming Backlot could go a lot farther spread out around the park. Don’t even get me started on Soak City!

I think expanding PS into a CS would get thematically confusing. I also don’t think there is enough room to expand that much. When Carowinds transitioned it’s kids area, the quality of the entire area improved. The same seems to be the case for Michigan this season. In my opinion, the park wouldn’t really have to add much in terms of new attractions to generate buzz — maybe a soft play structure under the cover of the old theater, and a small coaster or a few family flats. Replace the grill and ice cream stand with a full sized restaurant, refurbish Boo Blasters and the flume, and you’re done. Just my little dream.

I’d like to see Planet Snoopy overhauled and converted to Camp Snoopy. Having visited Knott’s and Carowinds, and seeing what MA has planned, I think Camp Snoopys have much better aesthetics than Planet Snoopys. Also, our area was never fully renovated after the switch from Nick to Peanuts — it seemed to have been done with minimal effort and investment. With Dollywood snatching the Golden Ticket away from KI in 2019, now seems like the perfect time to reinvest in our kid’s area.

I personally love Backlot! It’s an awesome, reliable, and reasonably high capacity family coaster. I think the addition of some more fences and foliage would help hide the backside of the coaster from the midways. Other than that, I don’t think the park should invest in a retheme — there are several other rides that are in much more need of thematic help.

Only the lift supports are yellow. The rest of them are tan. Honestly, I’m in favor of painting the lift supports tan and repainting the track red. The remaining tan supports actually look fine imo, so why not save a little money?

I think you’re greatly overestimating the size of the CHAOS building.
-
My guess is that it was more economical to retrofit Firehawk’s queue then remove it. Why pay to demolish something if, for a lower price, it could become an asset? Just because FOF has an outdoor queue doesn’t necessarily mean anything is changing inside — it just gives the park options. Just my two cents.

I think a flying theater (think Soarin’) would be a great fit for the old Crypt building! It would be a good mid-level dark ride — more thrilling than Boo Blasters, but not as much as FOF. The main show could be themed around the Appalachian Mountains, and there could be special Haunt and WinterFest shows. http://dynamicattractions.com/products/theaters/

The fact of the matter is the park has decades of data that informs every decision they make regarding the operating calendar. You may anecdotally think a certain aspect of the calendar is popular, but if folks aren’t voting with their feet (showing up/staying), then it’s not worth being open. Have a little faith that the park that can add multimillion dollar attractions every year knows what they are doing.

You’re right! Enthusiasts have conflated “Number 5 is Alive” with Outpost 5. I think people should go back to the source and re-examine

There has been no new construction in that area.

Track for Hershey Park is currently heading north on 71. Just passed KI. 20190716_083715.mp4

This site is so inconsistent. If someone had said last year, "Going to a meeting to learn about the new coaster. Can't tell you what it is yet, though." People would have lost their minds lol
-
My point exactly -- the park hasn't announced that there will be a new maze. Yet, you're saying that there will be.
-
Has the park announced a new maze for this year, or did you just share information you shouldn't have?
