  1. It's an opportunity to diversify the experience -- giving non-riders more to do, and providing an opportunity to escape from the weather. Plenty of parks, even some Cedar Fair parks, have in park museums. (No trip to Dollywood is complete without a walk through of the Dolly Parton Museum!) It wouldn't be the headlining capital expenditure, but it also wouldn't cost $30 million. If this year is to be a model, not everything has to have a direct ROI. Sometimes, just improving the overall experience is enough. As for KillMart, the maze could be moved to the other side of Action Theater, or a permanent building for the maze could be built right behind the current building (out of guest view might I add).
  2. I wonder how this will interact with July 4th celebrations?
  3. I'd love to see the Kill Mart building turned into a KI museum! What a nice way to cool off or hide from the rain, right? They could even sell exclusive retro merch, or one of a kind items. Think, the prop shop at Universal.
  4. He wasn't claiming inside knowledge. He was talking about industry trends and publicly released information.
  5. If we're playing this game, provide your source for, "People that know what they're talking about would dispute what you're talking about."
  6. While I don't agree with his giga prediction, @FlightTimberHawk is right when he says that KI is in a very saturated market. If you listen to CF earnings calls or read the published reports, parks like Carowinds, CGA, and Canada's Wonderland are in expanding markets. I don't remember which call/report specifically mentioned this, but Zimmerman has talked about less then expected returns on Banshee and Mystic -- trends like this are why we are seeing added investment into entertainment offerings like WinterFest and Grand Carnivale. I think we will see a giga, but I think it's purpose will be to draw on the vacation market, not the season pass market. It seems that pretty much everyone in this region that wants a season pass has one. I think we'll see an on-site hotel constructed shortly after the giga because there's more money to be made in that sector.
  7. I think he was just asking a general question...
  8. I think I saw KI reply to a Facebook comment saying that the memorabilia will be returning to the Reds. Don't quote me on that though lol.
  9. I totally agree. I also appreciate you acknowledging the breakdown in communication. Like many others, I have just been confused. Not angry or upset, just confused. I certainly haven't meant any disrespect by asking for clarification. I appreciate the difficult spot this sort of thing puts you all in. Personally, I like to follow the park's posts because, as you said, they're simply better lol. @silver2005 You seriously do need to chill out. No one is riled up except you. No one is being disrespectful except you. You're the one calling people names and making wild accusations.
  10. So your evidence is a second hand account based on no proof. No disrespect to the mods, but they didn't post a screenshot from an email detailing the request. They also recently changed their position from "no pics will be allowed" to "please don't post, but we won't delete." You're sitting here lecturing everyone as if you have been ordained to do so. Just chill out.
  11. Can you provide a direct source showing that KI specifically asked for that? Or, are you drawing conclusions based on assumptions? Also, get off your high horse.
  12. Pardon me as I split this hair...
  13. I think Reds felt more corporate than the Brewhouse, on the surface area least. Obviously, none of us have been in the Brewhouse yet lol. Reds always felt like a cheap sponsorship to me, I like that the Brewhouse, at least in name, is themed to the Miami River.
  14. I think traffic flow will be better. The midway looks to be expanded overall. The new trees seem to be a barrier between the walking area (grey pavers) and the seating area (red pavers). The planters at the end of the fountains also look to be gone, so that roadblock is gone too. I'm excited to stroll down the street.

  16. You're making a lot of assumptions there buddy. The park never publicly stated anything about wanting to wait until preview night. That was just everyone's assumption. In fact, the park has said all along there would be an update in March. If you want to be surprised, don't look at the pictures.
  17. Wait, now I'm legitimately confused. Is aerial photography okay or not? This statement seems to contradict everything we've been told about I-Street, Antique Cars, and Firehawk.
  18. I don't believe it is run without water.
  19. Let's not cut down the few remaining trees around the train. Please and thank you.
  20. New for 2019, Miami River Brewhouse! https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2019/march/new-brewhouse-restaurant-opening-at-kings-island
  21. @Diamondback230 I don't think the majority of what has been said is disrespectful. Asking for clarification and expressing frustration isn't inherently disrespectful. I think splitting the threads in two was a smart decision.
  22. Obviously, this thread has gone way off topic, but I hope it is left intact. I think it's important that everything said here remains accessable to everyone. It would be a shame if this conversation we're deleted, and members were unable to contribute and refer to it.
  23. I don't think anyone is being disrespectful. Most people are just asking for clarification and consistency going forward. Personally, I don't care if aerial photography is allowed or not. I just want to see consistency across projects and threads. If aerial photography is a no go, blueprints should also be a no go.
