  1. It is closed. They actually closed it before haunt was even over with because of the Winterfest lights
  2. Honestly the train probably went slow in come parts because sometimes it has a hard time making it up the grade in non-typically sunny summer weather. There's a certain section of the track where it usually has the most trouble but I can't remember where it is off the top of my head. I heard that last year there were actually a few times during Winterfest where the train couldn't make it past a certain section because it was just too cold so they had to evac the train
  3. A lot of the current and maybe even past full timers at the park have their names on the gravestones that they put out during Haunt
  4. I think that if KI were to get a new dark ride then it would be from triotech and probably go into the crypt building in order to have more space to work with. I say triotech because if I'm remembering right, Cedar Fair said something a year or two ago about wanting to have a triotech ride in all of its parks in the next couple of years. This would kind of leave Boo Blasters being obsolete in the park itself so i think that they would just remove it. The issue is that I have no clue what they could replace it with since they cant really tear down the building since its also used for some storage space in the non-ride part of the building
  5. Definitely. Imagine if they painted the outpost 5 logo on it........
  6. I actually know the story behind this. At some point in the summer, someone brought up the question with the rides associates (mainly the Planet Snoopy ones since tower is a part of snoopy for operations) whether or not tower is a ride or attraction. The supervisor there obviously thinks its a ride (hence the writing on the pumpkin) and a handful of other rides people said it wasn't. I say that the elevator is a ride and the platform is an attraction. As to the gravestone, I think its because with Winterfest they usually close tower a little bit before haunt is actually over so they can start getting lights and stuff ready so its probably closed for the season by now. I heard through a friend that the associates decorated pumpkins for a some of the rides and i guess Tower wanted to display theirs to stand their ground about tower being a ride
  7. The manufacturers may specify 2 different temperatures (I honestly don't know) but from my experience operating rides, the operations team just goes with one temperature for everything since it's a lot easier to just know one. Plus the temperature also can affect the track and other things besides the parts that have to get "woken up" so I doubt that there would be a different temperature for that
  8. I was at the park on Saturday and I noticed that the characters were there during the day but then they disappeared once Haunt started. I was talking to someone I know who works at the Eiffel Tower and even they said that the whole scene just kind of appeared one day and no one really knows what it is
  9. I've heard things about the parts through the rumor mill so it may not actually be true. The people who told me said its because of how few flying dutchmans are even left. I agree that it is still popular though. I enjoy riding it when I decide to wait for it. They would have to draw the line eventually though if the upkeep gets to be too much even if it is still somewhat popular. Part of how its rarely a walk on though is because it doesn't really pump out capacity like the other coasters in the park
  10. I think Firehawk will be the next to go because of all of the problems it had this past season. They don't really make parts for it anymore and there was probably a good 2-3 weeks this summer where it would close at least once per day for something. If they took it out they could use the space to maybe expand xbase and put a future coaster there like a B&M Dive coaster. It would be sad to see one of the last flying dutchmans go though
  11. Do you guys really think that the entire ride will go here? For some reason I just feel like it would feel really cramped. I think the station will go where the Dinos store was and then maybe follow the path under Racer. Then they could put the covered bridge over the maintenance road and go through part of the Dinos path. They did say there was going to be some theming and scenery so I think going back there would open up a lot more possibilities of what they could do without it feeling extremely cramped
  12. I honestly think that there might be a chance in the near future. Probably not anytime soon but eventually. It does seem like Cedar Fair might be trying to correct some of the stuff that people say Paramount did wrong (like bringing back the antique cars) and redoing Son of Beast right would definitely do that. Plus, a ground up RMC remake would be pretty sweet. Then they could actually have a loop in it and not have to worry about it
  13. The main thing I'm curious about is how the ride will be run by the ride ops. I've only ever ridden antique cars up at CP so that is the only way I've seen them operated. Kings Island has stricter operations so I don't know how they'll handle it. The biggie is having people in the station while cars are moving in and out. Having a guest in the ride area while something is still moving is one of the worst things a ride op can do. That would really slow down capacity though which is why I'm so curious
  14. The entire Rivertown soundtrack is just bluegrass covers of 80's songs. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Under Pressure
  15. At Surf Dog a child wasn't tall enough to ride and I told the parents the height requirement and they just responded with "they should really put that at the front of the line"..........
  16. This is pretty true. The ride ops at Flight of Fear are known to move around the alien(s) every now and then. Someone also changes around the props in the western town that the train passes every once in a while. Someone at the Eiffel Tower even drew the Outpost 5 symbol on the whiteboard in the elevator just to troll with people (FYECoasters posted a picture of it on FB). The ride ops know the same about new attractions as the general public does. All of the so called "teasers" done by ride ops are really just to mess with people speculating about it. If they end up being real then it's just out of pure coincidence
