Are news reporters coming out tomorrow morning to cover the opening of Orion? I know media day was cancelled, but I wonder if the park still wants local news stations to come.

Here are the lights in action! Edit: Is it just me or does it looks like the lights on the “wave turn“ are not changing colors like the rest of the lights?

My only concern is riding The Beast at night with that huge turnaround lit up, but it is still worth the trade off in my opinion!

That makes sense, and I get why the park wants to maximize capacity on Orion. Do you know if all these rides are going to be running at the highest possible capacity with all three trains or are they going to limit the amount of trains and possibly the amount of ride operators?

I kind of like the idea of staggered seating on Orion. That means that the capacity should be relatively close to 16 riders each cycle. On Diamondback, since there is already staggered seating, I could see it running at more than 50% capacity.

I agree. Vortex’s old plot of land looks like it was trashed with the footers, piles of trees, and broken track. I guess this shows the park is in no rush to replace it which makes sense.

I have heard there are a lot of Kings Island and Cedar Fair easter eggs scattered around Area 72 which is very exciting! I guess this can be expected with all of the easter eggs on the antique cars, but I can’t wait to check them out!

Yesterday I actually posted the original Instagram post here of the Area 72 entrance, but it got taken down pretty quickly. It was also taken down from Instagram. I think it was probably an employee photo that likely was not supposed to have been shared publicly.

This is great news! I think you will have to redeem your first reservation to be able to book a second, but it may be different for pass holder preview days.

Most of the comments I am seeing are people saying the ride looks even better than they previously thought. I think the vast majority of people think that Orion will be spectacular!

What would you compare it to smoothness wise? Is it even smoother than Diamondback and Banshee?

When we can actually go to the park at night, Area 72 is going to looks SO GOOD with Orion’s lights reflecting over the entire area. Also, the park installed a ton of the red warning lights on a lot of the building as theming that will also make the area looks great!

Lighting package looks amazing @Waltny! I can’t believe how good it looks! Racer’s new lighting package will definitely complement it very nicely!

For me, both videos have worked on my iPhone. I believe it has to do with Apple’s video format, so it likely only works on select Apple devices. I think it would need to maybe be converted to a more universal video format for it to be visible to everyone on all devices.

That is really cool! I wonder when they will turn on the lights shining up the supports.

It is such a shame it will be hard to see this year. I hope we get plenty of pictures of it from July 4th!
