The park did a great job making the Kings Mills Antique Autos fit with Coney Mall in my opinion. The area of Coney Mall where the antique cars went looked pretty bad before the addition, and it is a really nice looking area now.

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
FUN&ONLY! replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
Hopefully they worked in a White Water Canyon outpost! LOL! That job probably has the least amount of guest contact in the park. It is also a job I would want to have someday for fun because it would be so fun to squirt people with the water and mess with them! LOL! -
Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks

In terms of a Kings Island associate testing positive, let’s give the park the benefit of the doubt. The employee could have been a maintenance worker, someone in a White Water Canyon outpost, a higher up worker who works in an office, a park sweep worker, or someone who was just starting and tested positive before even working for the first time. In short, the employee could have had like zero contact with other guests and employees, so it may not be a huge concern. Kings Island also has a ton of safety protocols in place, and maybe they are confident that the situation is under control. If the guy was working closely with other people, the park already probably has those employees getting tested and quarantined. If this guy only had contact with other employees who are now quarantined, and he did not have any contact with guests, Kings Island has no reason to believe any guests are at risk and ask them to check for symptoms. That being said, I do wish the park would at least notify us whether or not the employee had any contact with other associates or guests and inform us what guests might be at risk if at any risk. There is a decent chance this employee was isolated from others to begin with or at least just guests, but it would be nice for the park to let us know to be sure. -
Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks

I am afraid this might happen to Kings Island in the coming weeks. -
The park is most likely going to struggle this year with record low attendance. Already we have no live shows, limited hours, no waterpark, limited ride capacity, and many events cancelled. People just don’t want to go during this time. I hope Cedar Fair does okay financially, but this is really concerning. Next season will also be lower attendance most likely due to some people cancelling their passes, people being in poor financial positions, and others still not feeling safe. Last season, in an earnings call, Cedar Fair mentioned Kings Island was around record attendance with roughly 3.5 guests. This year, we will be lucky to hit half a million guests. Next year, hopefully we can regain most of our attendance, but I think it will be years before we get back to 3.5 million guests.

Rebuild the son next to his father like it always should have been.

In addition to speed, rollercoasters also tend to run a bit more rough or rattly without full trains because they are not as snug against the track. In short, all rollercoasters are designed with full trains in mind, so no ride will run exactly as intended without full trains. That being said, I still think Orion is pretty awesome, and it certainly felt amazing even at half capacity. I can’t wait to experience it at full capacity as it should just be that much better.
-
For Leviathan, they added 600 pounds to the trains last season, and this extra weight greatly increased the speed of the ride. In Orion’s case, when it is running at half capacity or less, that is the reduction of 16+ riders which is probably about a reduction of 2,000 pounds. Without a doubt, Orion would run faster at full capacity.

They should have made her pay for every last one of those masks! LOL! -
It seems like everyone I see getting off really enjoyed it. The vast majority of people really love Orion, but there are some naysayers whose negativity outshines the many positive reviews. I really do feel like Orion is the perfect fit for Kings Island, and I really think B&M and Kings Island did a FANTASTIC job designing it!

They do have Tower Gardens as a RelaxZone which is very close to the International Showplace, and it is also much more shaded.

Do you have a most favorite and least favorite ride at Kings Island?
FUN&ONLY! replied to Dj325's topic in Kings Island
My favorite is either Orion or Mystic Timbers... I really can’t choose! I got some seriously great rides on them both this past weekend, and they are both some of the best coasters in the WORLD. I can’t really say anything bad about any rides at Kings Island because I get enjoyment out of all of them. If I HAD to pick a least favorite ride it would probably be Flying Ace Ariel Chase not because it is rough, but just because it does not do a whole lot. I still enjoy it for what it is though, and it really is a hit among young kids. -
This is so true. Orion is just pure fun, and it is definitely an elite coaster. It holds up on its own compared to other giga coasters, and it is a really solid ride. People who trash it can’t say the ride is bad, but they are just jealous that their home park doesn’t have something as good.
-
That really is not bad at all with COVID-19 restrictions. I know the park was probably going for Fury 325’s insane 30 second dispatches when opening, but that is not really possible with sanitization and other restrictions. By any chance, do you know why Orion’s queue was closed off early today? Will this be the policy going forward?
-
It probably will be, but that is no excuse for the park closing the line 40 minutes before park closing. In the past, guests were able to enter the line one minute before 10:00, wait out the fireworks and safety checks, and then ride even if they didn’t get off until 11:00.
-
The line on The Beast shut down around 9:40 tonight unfortunately. I know COVID-19 is a thing, but I HATE this so much!
-
I don’t like the new practice of closing the lines before 10:00. It is annoying when they suddenly decide to close the ride before closing time, and you aren’t allowed to ride. They closed The Beast’s line off around 9:40 today instead of at 10:00, and they also closed Orion’s line off early.

I found this on Reddit, and I think it is a great (and funny) mini-show. Have any of you seen it this season at Kings Island? Stuff like this actually really adds to the experience during COVID-19!
-
Here is some video of most of the lights going. Since the park has been open late only once for the first riders event, it is a lot harder to get pictures of Orion at night.
-
I can’t believe the park is already closed...
-
No problem. I was out and about, so I stopped at the park and checked the app. Out of what I could see, I noticed everything in the park (even Congo Falls) was running besides WindSeeker. Banshee looked to be dispatching VERY slowly, but Orion and Diamondback looked reasonable.

How is the food at Meteor Canteen?
-
Most coasters are between 2,000 and 3,000 feet in length. Orion is literally double the length of the average coaster, so we really can’t be calling it short. Not every ride is as long as The Beast (the longest coaster in North America).

Now we know it is going to be there for awhile...
