  1. Happy new year everybody! Welcome to the 20's.
  2. Wow! Those pics really show how steep Orion is! I will be up there today so hopefully I can get some pics of my own.
  3. The thing I will do on new years eve is know that by the next day, I will only have 4 months and 11 days to wait until Orion opens.
  4. I will be grading Millennium Force at Cedar Point Experience: 6 In my opinion, Millennium Force has something for everybody, Beautiful setting, speed, height, g-force, and airtime. I have never found it to have a rattle, or any signs of roughness. And the drop is one of the best I have experienced! I love the airtime you get from the drop near the back. And the speed just makes the ride that much better! I also love how it is set right next to a lake and even goes on its own little Island! Layout: 4 I will say that Millennium Force has some weak spots in this category. some of the turns you take don't provide too much forces. Like the second overbank, it just seemed sort of weird and spread out with not too many forces. Other than that, I found all of the airtime hills give fantastic airtime! The first, providing some nice floater, the second providing some amazing flo-jector airtime, and the speed hill giving some very good ejector. The first overbank makes me grey out sometimes and is very intense. The third overbank, for some reason to me, the way you take the turn makes it feel more overbanked than the first one and it feels really strange and fun. And the last overbank feels like a great finale to the ride, and I love how it slides into the break run. Capacity: 3 The line Moves by pretty fast, it is not the fastest line I've gone through, but it still goes at an above decent speed. It is usually running on 2-3 trains and the operations are very good. It does have two seat per row trains, so if you're waiting for a specific row, you would be waiting longer than on a four seat per row train like on Fury 325. Theming: 2 Millennium Force has a very subtle theme in my opinion. The reason that I have it ranked at 2 is that the theming that it does have, I really like. I love the sort of future theme it has and I always love rides that are themed that way. I have also always really liked the station, just the design and the orange lighting inside the station have a very nice and cool feeling to them. Restraints: 2 Honestly, I love T-bars. I have always found them very comfortable for me and they are very free, which would make every element on Millennium Force more enjoyable and intense compared to if it had Intamin's ostr's or vest restraints. Total score: 17/20 or 85% The reason this coaster is my number one, Is because it has so much to offer and as I said earlier, it has a bit of everything. And those are the type of roller coasters that I like best. Overall Millennium Force Is a fantastic roller coaster, with an amazing setting, and a variety of different feelings of g-force, airtime, and getting hit in the face with bugs in the front seat.
  5. To get to Kings Island, I pass by a shopping center called Liberty Center, and there is a spot where you can see The Eiffel Tower and Orion all the way from there if you have a good eye. It looks amazing!
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if it only takes around 4 days to get the speed hill up because it's supports are already mostly installed.
  7. This brings up a question I have had in the back of my head for a while now, In Fury's construction, (note that many of Fury's elements are much smaller than Orion's) they used crawler cranes. But in Orion's construction, they are using cranes with tall booms attached to the top. Does anybody have any answers to this?
  8. It also looks like we have another support up! It's hard to make out, but is there a another support after that one up? Edit: Never mind, there is only one new support up.
  9. The more this ride is built, the more I wonder why the animation pov made it look so dull. I wasn't expecting too much out of this turn, mainly just the height. But it looks amazing!
  10. The turnaround has been topped off! It looks amazing!
  11. If you look at the weatherbug cam, it looks like the tallest support is finished!
  12. Its hard to see, but it looks like the next support is being re-installed.
  13. Also, it looks like the giant red crane is finally moving again. I wonder what its doing?
  14. I wish Kings Island could auction off the front car of Vortex like Knotts did with Boomerangs front car.
  15. I found this video from Coaster Clubs Unite where they get some beautiful zoomed in shots of Orion from the tour.
  16. Is it me, or does that bank look more heartlined and snappy than on the animation?
  17. Wow! we have a lot of more supports up! Edit: tallest support finished!
  18. The support highlighted in purple is the support they put in today, and the tallest (next) support is the one highlighted in orange. So it looks like this element is going to get even taller!
  19. Has anybody noticed we have a new crane on site? I don't remember two yellow cranes back there.
  20. I still think its strange seeing that model being orange. I always thought of Vortex as a greenish blue coaster.
  21. Here's a video from FYE Coasters.
  22. Here are some more pics WildGravity Travels got.
  23. I would say end of next week or beginning of the week after.
  24. More track has been installed! This element is looking massive already!
