When you show an image that you don't own, the TOS require you give a link. -
The most words I've ever found on the New Sensation: https://fghsaa.wordpress.com/2011/06/27/memories/ Note rcdb.com has the Big Dipper history incorrect. They've been advised many times. Terp -- who loved Six Flags Great Adventure when doing so wasn't cool. Thanks, Steve J. Urbanowicz, wherever you are. 11 years ago. Royal Fountain at your favorite park--life, the universe and everything. For hours. Little did either of us know it'd be your last visit there. Soon gone 11 years. And missed. Author, The Roller Coaster Lover's Companion, The Cheapskate's Guide To Theme Parks, Media Director: Astroland at The World Famous Coney Island of Brooklyn. And Great Adventure's Biggest And Most Missed Fan. -

^ Bad thoosy! Bad!! Every thoosy* knows that Cedar Fair excels over Six Flags* in every possible way and measure in each and every venue. And that Six Flags Great Adventure is deplorable. That's The Wisdom According To Fanboys. Be careful, you'll lose your thoosy license! * especially those who have never been there. (The above post contains more than the usual amount of snarkdom. Read at your own risk. Ooops, too late). Signature intentionally left blank. Please do not read it. -
B&M said they wouldn't do launches, wouldn't go over 300 feet, etc. Things change. Things evolve. Companies change. Markets change.

Whither Conneaut Lake Park Now?
The Interpreter replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
@jcgoble3: That article you cite is an excellent example of the Meadville Tribune. The park is not starting to make money. Revenue is up, yes. Losses, too. That's like the guy who was losing money on every sale and who cheerfully intended to "make it up on volume." As long as you are loss-making at the same or higher rate, the more the revenue, the bigger the loss. Also why so many parks like to report EBITDA. There's a reason there are generally accepted accounting principles. In the real world, one typically must pay interest and taxes (witness Conneaut Lake Park) and account for depreciation and amortization. The end appears to be coming. I'm not quite certain which is typically more befuddled and more of a cheerleader, The Sandusky Register or The Meadville Tribune. -
