Why would the casket not be buried if SoB has been dead for 15ish years.

    Little odd....

Having worked haunted attractions, often times these caskets are beat up and don't close properly. More than likely, no other reason behind it.

It would be cool to have a Son of Beast themed house. The way that the ride has such an aura and grip on enthusiasts and the general public alike I feel that if it is done right it would really be good and would drive attendance if marketing is done correctly. I also feel like if they used the old station and the son had "escaped his confines" and now haunts the station would be a very easy and cool concept.

How would a Son of Beast themed house be achieved? What would it look like? What would the characters be/look like? What would be the scare? Would be an interesting concept, just not sure I personally would be able to answer my above questions.

The one thing I noticed when I visited the park last, was that the bridge heading to The Bat has been completely painted over...no more stars. I didn't go through the main Bat queue, so I didn't see if the flag was still painted on the wall or not.

They ought to ask the voice of the kids and get a tally number of what the kids think? Because the kids will tell you what they might be looking for in the kids area. The judges of the golden ticket awards are grown up like I am.

The problem is, the kids don't vote and unless they travel a lot with their parents, they are completely unaware of what actually is out there for them.

  4. They just have to convince the right people.

Like you @disco2000 I've heard about "better" kids areas in the chain at KD , Carowinds and CP.

I mean at CP you've got 3 total kids areas....one is almost entirely shaded, one is the basic "fair" type feel and the other is in the middle of the two as far as "thrills"  for the kids.

KI is almost all exclusively in the sun, the number of rides is good...the theme almost stops completely with the ride names, with a few having a little theme beyond the name.

Wildwood Grove at Dollywood is not only immersive in the theming of the area, but the individual rides (alongside the names) and general feel. It's well deserved.

Maybe one day, KI will get the hint.

Rode Superman 3 times today at SF Great America. It made me miss FH less. I never was a big fan and I have to totally disagree with @silver2005, the B&M restraints are way better than Vekomas'.

I 100% agree with you. I just wish that the loading/unloading of the trains were quicker...especially if they are 2 train and ops are 2 train operations....which means you've got a train sitting waiting for the train in the station to dispatch and riders laying down "on their stomachs" facing down to the ground without much support.

Looks like KI isn't getting Oktoberfest this year. This is really disappointing on many different levels. Is it because there are tons of other Oktoberfest events around the Cincy area that upper management feels it wouldn't work at KI? Idk this feels like a huge missed opportunity.

Still don't think KI could actually pull it off based on the implementation of Wine and Food Festival.

Completely amazes me that a park that keeps adding "family friendly attractions" keeps insisting on increasing the amount of alcohol consumed in the park.  Don't care which way they go, just pick a lane and stay in it.  Nothing like kids spending the day with "drunk uncle" :)

Guess I’ll need to be the drunk uncle.

Enthusiasts are a very rough crowd but I had GP friends threatening to back out of going to CP when they knew it was down. I was told why would we go when the best ride isn't open? I had to convince them that the park was still good enough to justify a 4hr one way drive. My GP Kings Island crowd friends basically weren't going to give the park their business over the entire thing. I convinced them to give the park a chance and I (the enthusiast) happened to make CP $120 in tickets sales that day. I have many family members and friends saying things to me about what a disappointment it is or how it looks really bad on Cedar Point to have additional issues with a ride that already had a major accident. I've got GP people telling me "TT2 is like Son of Beast". It hasn't gone unnoticed by the general public it's just that enthusiasts are the loudest critics and have the platform to voice their opinions. The GP is probably just as upset and in the case of my family and friends who aren't enthusiasts none of them went to CP this year except the couple of guys I work with that I convinced to give the park a shot despite the fact TT2 was closed.

Any GP folks I know or even the casual enthusiasts, still want to go to CP despite the TT2 status because they enjoy the park and what rides that are offered.

My point with that it doesn’t matter the operational status of TT2 at the end of the day because there are far bigger things that matter in the grand scheme of things.

Sad this is going but it was running pretty janky for a Schwarzkopf when I rode it two years ago. The only way a park is going to keep a Schwarzkopf these days is if it's a beloved classic/historically significant or if the park doesn't have a lot of investment put into it. For example, revolution at magic mountain isn't going anywhere anytime soon because it's a classic. I'd guess frontier city is also going to hang silver bullet as long as possible. A park like BGT doesn't have one that is an ACE coaster landmark or as iconic as something like super-duper-looper but they do invest in BGT quite often so it makes sense it's being retired for a modern replacement

I 100% get that. I hope that SFOT keeps Shockwave as long as possible!
