  1. I'm on board with them doing a "sequel" or "requel" as people like to call it nowadays. But that's also just cause I wanna see another new wood coaster added to the park lol :p
  2. The first drop is probably my favorite thing ever in terms of coasters. No other ride I've rode has gave me the feeling on being in air like it does. Practically feel like I'm skydiving lol.
  3. Adding to the theory of it being removed, I agree. I think this will mean they're taking out the haunt attraction, whether its to revamp the building in to something more or remove it entirely. cause its not like the haunt attraction was struggling. theres always lines for it everytime i go.
  4. Between this speculation and the SOB speculation (as always, but still fun to look at) I'm tempted to go this friday and give it a go checking out the haunt stuff during the day at KI. I'd like to see the cool decorations and lantern interaction spots and definitely would like to check out the madame lights on tour. I've always wanted to go in the building and check it out cause it seems massive and ive never been inside it, but the haunt lines have always kept me away from it.
  5. Somewhat off topic of the current conversation in the chat, but I love that there is still discussion about SOB and I love seeing all the theories and ideas about revivals/reboots. But I also grew up obsessed with youtube channels like game theory and stuff, so I'm always all about theorizing stuff and connecting pieces together, even if they don't always make sense or actually connect. just fun stuff creatively. this chat honestly makes me want to go to haunt this friday to try and check out the SOB inspired lantern spot and all the stuff people are talking about in here. gives some use to my pass I bought before my friend group split up earlier this year.
  6. me and my family saw them at our last trip a few months ago. plus theyve used them for haunt decor in the past if i recall correctly
  7. there is the alien in the chair but also, if you can focus enough while in motion, when going upside down you can see a set of king cobra seats on the ground while flipping. kinda hard to see but its a pretty neat fun fact.
  8. Regardless what happens, I just hope they keep that space and dont think of demolishing it and putting something else there building wise. its a great spot to cool down during the summer, and its a good resting attraction when you wanna kill time between rides. i honestly wish theyd do something similar where crypt used to be, especially if theyre not putting another actual ride back in there
  9. Event wise I'll say Fear Fest. I never got to experience Fear Fest, but I heard lots of good things about it from my cousins growing up. They were teenagers at the time. And the pictures I've seen of it make it seem way cooler than what they have now. I wish it was still a thing I could experience. Maybe even doing one weekend in October as Fear Fest and the rest as the Haunt they have now. But ride wise, I can't think of one that was really a "mistake" to get rid of. Any coasters I've seen get closed seemed to have logical reasoning getting closed. But keep in mind I'm only in my 20's, so that means I've only seen Son of Beast, Vortex, and Firehawk get closed if I recall correctly.
  10. I think there should be something added to Action Zone to use the old Screamin Demon or King Cobra IP. But I also think a nod to the old wild animal safari stuff would be cool too. That could be just reused as theming for a new ride and then have it called something related to Wild Animal Safari. And, it's basically beating a dead horse, but I'll say they should use phantom theater and revive it or theme a different ride to it until I use my last breath lol.
  11. it's definitely got its perks, but theres some that like it and some that dont. i just happen to not be a fan of it, but i can see why others would like it. aside from the feeling in my stomach when i come off the seat i like the rest of it. but i agree. should definitely make the area more spooky, maybe a ride graveyard of sorts for the "forgotten" or "abandoned" could bring back designs like screamin demon, king cobra, etc. maybe even something (besides Banshee, maybe a new woodie coaster or something ) as a nod to sob. or could go even farther back and make some sort of spooky train or themed coaster based on an abandoned zoo park where the animals mutated into monsters. idk, i love the more spooky and eerie themed stuff so im biased lol
  12. a lot of a times the times on the apps and on the time displays they have at some of the rides, they usually are higher than what it actually is. to help keep lines died down. at least from my experiences.
  13. congo falls just feels like its in a very out of place spot. the other water rides are at or near rivertown so it being on the other side of the park is just odd layout wise to me. but i also am one of the ones who wouldn't mind seeing it replaced. i like it but everytime i ride it it doesnt hold me down to the seat. i always come out of it by a few inches and i dont like that part one bit.
  14. it would be interesting if they were marking to possibly create an alternate entryway into the park there, but i doubt it. its most realistically probably just markings for them to work on sewer pipes or something lol
  15. I turned 21 in December and have been wanting to go to wine tasting festivals and just hadn't found one close enough to justify the drive for me. So I'm VERY EXCITED about this and how close it is to where I live lol. I'm not all concerned about the food lol, BUT I hope the wine atleast tastes good. Also on a somewhat related note, could you imagine if they had a blue ice cream (blueberry) flavored wine?
  16. i saw a picture either on here or fb of some crypt merch that was being sold on opening day *supposedly* and it looked like a denim jacket with hoodie sleeves with the crypt on the back and i thought it was super cool. is that something theyre selling at the park?
  17. update: I got the boysenberry jam last week when I visited KI, it is delicious!!!
  18. phantom theater *clap clap clap clap clap* phantom theater *clap clap clap clap clap*
  19. I would be very excited at the prospect of ANY of these options. However, I think I would be most interested in the Indoor/Outdoor Dark Coaster or the 300 ft Dive Drop. The Indoor/Outdoor ride could be placed in the Crypt building, which would be great. But I wonder how well that would work with Diamondback hanging over it (literally) and Mystic Timber close beside it as well. If they were to use outdoor space I would imagine they'd have it go out the back or something, cause there isnt much room on any other sides. The dive coaster would be a prime coaster to place where Vortex used to be. It could give life to the Coney Mall area. I know its not likely at all, but combining the two ideas? Could you imagine how thrilling a coaster that would be? Having you inside a tunnel of some sort until right when you drop 300 ft. Would be the coolest coaster ever in my book. But clearly structure wise I don't know if that could even work. Another good spot for the dive coaster would be where timberwolf theater/Invertigo/and congo falls are. would make for a GREAT skyline picture coming into the park. If they really wanted to do a throwback, they could have it somehow themed or referring to the old wild animal safari that used to be in that area.
  20. i dont know what boysenberry is but that looks delicious!
  21. I think it'll end up getting demolished to make room for more rides. It takes up a lot of space like you said, and it doesn't get used hardly at all anymore. I think it would be cool for them to use it for concerts more regularly, but I just dont see it happening at this point. I don't think it'll get demolished this season, but I can see it getting torn down in the coming years. I think it'll have one or two things happen a year with it at most, and that's it until its demolished. However, I could see it being tore down and turned into an alternate entrance route for entering the park. That way people walk right through it and it doesn't feel so out of the way.
  22. Not sure if this is already on here but found something pretty cool. If you go to google earth and look up Kings Island and go into street view, it lets you look around at old KI. Son of Beast still intact along with Dinosaurs Alive still being a thing. It wont let you go to the station on SoB but it does let you do the full circle on Dinosaurs Alive's route in the woods. Also has the water walkthrough in kiddie land that got taken out. And the old entrance to white water canyon. Not sure exactly what year the imaging is from, but still very cool none the less if youre looking for nostalgic stuff that isnt there anymore.
  23. Just looked it up, juke box diner did them, not sure if they still do though. i didnt see them doing it last year but i also didnt go in there all the time.
  24. agreed. would love to have more KI exclusive type foods. maybe more colors of ice cream with flavors you dont see anywhere else. or make the blue ice cream into different stuff. blue ice cream sundaes, etc. be cool if they had something like the crazy mason milkshake bar at KI with that but that wont happen. (ive had a dessert craving all day if you cant tell lol) i also think tho it would be great to have more options of different international foods. german food in the festhaus. more bbq style stuff in the coney mall area. go real wild and have like roadkill themed foods with rivertown.
