"Paramount will learn the hard way and the IJST will flop" What makes you think it will flop. It's only draw back will be the low capicity. "ttd is 5 years old the line will be 15-20 minutes tops" wtf? There are A LOT of people out there that like TTD over MF so why do you think the lines will drop? If you're saying a launched ride can't hold lines, look at FoF. I know FoF has inversions and it's really not the same type of coaster, but it is launched. You're not about to tell me people will like FoF over TTD. TTD will NVR drop its wait times that low.

Sorry for my stupidty, but what is Paramount Story? I have never heard of it before. I just now found it on a map of PKI we have.
-
^Yea they could take out Top Gun and build the inverted version somewhere else (don't ask where...haven't thought about that yet) and then put an launched ride like TTD or something there. Then that could draw crowds to the far end of Action Zone (possibly making SOB waites longer) and keeping the area by IT:ST less busy. That would allow shorter waits for FoF....maybe....(that would be REALLY great)

I think it would be really sweet if they added on to Action Zone and put a ton of flat rides, but that would be unlikely. What I really want is a nice ride like MF but not quite as tall. It would be neat if they put it where Top Gun is (but move the statoin forward BUNCHES) and make it weave in out of the trees and hills. It should have some REAL airtime too like Magnum. But not like a record breaker or anything, just a nice, yet big, enjoyable coaster. The only record I would want it to break would be the longest steel. That would be pretty neat, longest steel AND woody in one park. But, they most likely choice will be the nick expansion.

^^I know. The angle of the track going up the helix looks really steep. Are you launced twice on the ride or just once?
-
The trains look more "sci-fi" than from what I remember.

LaRosa's hands down! They have the best pizza ANYWHERE!.

I like FoF's current theme. I think it fits the ride like a glove. I think the whole "soundwave" theme is kind of dumb. I really hope they don't re-theme it...I'll prlly cry....lol j/p but seriously they shouldn't re-theme it. It would be a waste of money b/c it already has a great theme and it doesn't sound like the "soundwave" theme is all to popular.

That's what I'm thinking. Plus at our county fair, I'm 80% sure "mentally disabled"is on the list of "Do Not Ride if One of Theses Applies to You" or w/e. You know like the sign that tells pregnant woman and ppl w/ injuries not to ride.
-
I signed up for the newsletter but haven't gotten that yet....can you tell me where I can go to re-sign up. If they do give Top Gun a paint job, then they won't be replacing it with the inverted version anytime soon. Does anyone know what they would do to Face/Off? I hope a new paint job b/c I hate the red/yellow scheme.

I saw something similar. After Mantis @ CP broke down, the first train that loaded was stopped halfway up the lift hill b/c someone wasn't secured. It made me really nervous b/c it was my first (and only) stand-up. The kid that jumped or fell out of drop zone is sad. I can't believe the mother made the kid ride (if that really is what happened). And if the kid was mentally disabled or w/e, wtf was he doing on the ride. I didnt think they let menatally disabled ppl on rides.

I really think that Carowinds would win in the variety of rides part, PKI would would for the best thrills, and there's just something that I like about the rides at PKD. (keep in mind i've only been to KI so i'm making judgements on pictures and not actuall ride experiences)
-
I thought stand ups were like a total "flop" so why would pki get one? I actually like them and don't know people have negative opinions about them. So the trains were like in the drum of FoF! Thats interesting. Could you like see them when you rode it? J/w, why is Togo crap? I never got to ride King Kobra.....crying shame (no sarcasim...I really wanted to ride it). I heard somewhere thought that at least one person fell out of the train. I imagine that is totally bologna but just thought I'd ask for the heck of it.

I didn't even know they had an "unknown to the public" theme (i guess thats why I didn't know it). They really should theme Vortex b/c it's one of the few rides that isn't themed besides like the Action Zone rides. Dumb question, but since IJST is based on an action movie, has come they didnt put it in the Action Zone. my only guess (besides maybe room) is b/c its a family ride....but isn't congo falls?
-
i really hope Cedar Fair buys at least pki b/c i want a nice Cedar Fair park in driving distance of my home. plus i want to see more rollercoasters than family rides and i think Cedar Fair will do that. I hope they buy it and put a huge coaster like MF but w/ LOTS more bunny hills and air time. It doesn't have to be as tall....but 240 is the shortest id like

i really hope its open when i go in late may. itll be my only trip to pki for a while.

Insanity The Ride at Stratosphere
moore replied to TopThrill's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Seeing as I ckickened out on High Roller... there is no f-bomb way I'm riding that. I thought the ppl on X scream or w/e were crazy, but ppl that ride that r worse, there mentally challenged...lol jp theres not way ill ever ride that -
Even though I'd never heard of it before, I miss the Flight Cammandor ride...it looks so sweet.
-
even if pkic didn't buy out tickets, or bought out the park, a line jump thing would be REALLY cool. You'd have to give like everyone two though, that way they can bring a friend to ride w/. Unless we all just rode w/ eachother...
-
That was DEFFINATLY(?spelling? lol) the ride I rode. I remeber my mom cussing out my sister when we got to the drop. Now that you said it, I remember it being on the pond or w/e. J/w, why do they have two drops on rides like that?
-
^That would be pretty sweet. I don't know about you, but the angle of the track on the helix thing looks really steap....it'll be REALLY awesome riding it.
-
was KCKC still at PKI in '99. I'm pretty sure that must have been what i rode b/c I know for a fact w/e i rode wasnt themed to the thornberrys
-
Did they tear out a log ride to put in Reptar? I remember pretty well there being two log rides when I went back in '99. One was more of a kiddie ride than the other.
-
was KCKC a log flume ride like Wild Thorn? I can't remember if I rode Thorn or not. From what i remember of the ride it only kind of resembles Thorn (it was a LONG time ago when I rode it, I'm pretty sure it must have been KCKC). W/e it was, it was awesome b/c we tricked my mom into riding it; we told her she wouldn't get wet....he he he

Yes, PKD has FOF. But Kings Island installed FOF first and it was the first caoster to use LIM launch technology. PKD's opened a year later. PKD has a version of drop zone too as do all the other paramount parks but PKI has the worlds tallest gyro drop. Now to clear up any convusion; A gyro drop is a ride like our Drop Zone where there is no floor, you sit in a circular seating, and you spin going up. PKI has the worlds tallest of those. I dont know what PKD's is like but PC's only seats 16 people at a time and shoots you up then you fall back down and shoot upa gain and back down. That is a different type of drop ride. The one at PKD is a gyro drop too. The only difference is the carrier thing is a lil diferent and the coloring of the pole is different.
