  1. Well, after looking through my room, I can say I have many more things from Cedar Point than KI. I have about every map from 1994-present and 35 shot glasses, among many other things. As for Kings Island, I found a Flight of Fear clock from 1996 which is still working somehow...
  2. I suppose mine would be an on-ride photo from Vortex from 1995, which I just happened to find a few weeks ago in a box.
  3. The only thing I remember about the park is a log flume that dumped a bucket of water on top of you. I recall becoming completely soaked from head to toe.
  4. Ha! I sure hope they stay in the park, I love those dancing cats.
  5. I doubt we would get 2 decently sized coasters in one season. It's possible, but very unlikely. It would be better in terms of advertising to add one new ride two years in a row then two new coasters in one season. And I also highly doubt that we will be getting more coasters from Geagua Lake in the near future, although that isn't completely out of the question.
  6. It's a regular lift system like on Face Off. I tried to figure out the system while I stood in line for it last summer (capacity was probably around 200 pep/hour the day I was there), and it's kind of hard to tell. I believe it uses a giant cable of some sort.
  7. X at Magic Mountain has to be the loudest lift in the country. By the time the lift ended everything seemed incredibly quiet.
  8. I remember reading an article in 2000 just after it opened about how it was supposed to sound like the "growling" of the (Son of) Beast. I took it as a cheap way to make theming seem to be where there really was none.
  9. Hmm, well they did mention "lighter trains" in the article. We can only hope...
  10. Yes indeed. I doubt that additional age restrictions are in the mix. I personally think that the speculation about 18 year old ride op requirements are also incorrect.
  11. Wow...I really think people need to define "hit" much differently That was a "brush" at most.
  12. You really have to work to get money from the TR queue nets...it's not a simple task by any means.
  13. Hopefully SOB experiences the same sort of turnaround that came with the removal of OTSR's from Flight of Fear in '01. I have a feeling this is definitely going to be an interesting season.
  14. Mehh, I think they would have enough time. Considering the coaster was already assembled once, I can't imagine it would take as long to construct as a new coaster. Or maybe it could, I really don't know.
  15. Woah, I didn't know it was going to have a bowl slide. I am convinced those are the best waterslides out today. Anyone who has ridden Storm at Wet N Wild in Orlando can vouch for me on that.
  16. I'm just glad they went to a decent location. Knott's Berry Farm is a great park, and I'm glad to see that Cedar Fair is expanding their Chistmas events.
  17. In all honesty, I dont see it coming for a number of years. Im thinking 2009 or 2010, and I have a strong feeling it WON'T be at Cedar Point.
  18. Argh...I love first gen. Intamin freefalls. I honestly think they are some of the most frightening rides available at parks today. I have always made it a point to hit Demon Drop on every trip to Cedar Point.
  19. From my days as a McDonald's employee, I can say that 15 year olds do not have many hour restrictions during the summer, but during the school year there are a lot. They can't work past 7 on a school night or more than 3 hours on a school night. They can work deep fryers, but not any grills or ovens. They also can't enter into any large freezers/refrigerators. The rules are pretty strict in regards to machinery/cutting tools as well.
  20. I would say those are pretty old, probably early 1900's or so. I have no idea how much they would be worth, but I would rather keep them just for fun as opposed to selling them or something.
  21. Which, no doubt, is why the park will not be opening until noon on Saturdays in October 2007...at least according to the current plans... That's because the crowds do not come to the park at 10 AM for a Halloween event. The park was incredibly crowded from 2-10 basically every Saturday in October. The noon openings are no doubt a change by Cedar Fair, as Cedar Point has had noon openings for the past several years.
  22. I doubt there will be 3 train op on it wherever it does go. Those Vekoma flyers take so long to load no matter what park they're at.
  23. Didn't he make a list of parks a while back that he said were "model parks" or something like that? I seem to remember him saying that certain Six Flags parks were intended to be kept up, and the others had an unsure future.
  24. I think Fearfest is here to stay for a while. It seems that Saturdays in October are some of the most crowded days of the entire season.
  25. MaXair does tend to have a quicker line, but it really isn't that much faster. The capacity of a ride is really based upon the guests ability to sit down quickly and not fumble all over the place before sitting down.
