Can anyone explain why Mean Streak is still at Cedar Point then? Sorry but that thing is worse than SoB with the loop, but yeah its safer. So what it causes internal bleeding.
-
If that can be fixed than why not build a seperate tunnel for SoB and no that would not be a cool effect having the track flood along with various debri laying on the track after the flood water receeds.
-
Wait 3 weeks to have a heart attack? Why because we are getting X-Flight? Please explain why anyone would have a heart attack over this announcement? Details would be greatly appreciated...

^ Very Well Put Thanks for breaking out the text book definition also, puts Cap Expenditures in a perfect context for everyone.

$10 million in capital improvements. The SoB repairs are more along the lines of maintence and would not be accounted for the same as capital improvements, like new rides, paint, resturants etc... Does winter rehab on all the rides fall under capital improvements? Yes nobody wanted to build trains for SoB in the begining, that is also when the ride went upside down. Now it doesnt so it seems more likely companies would want to build trains if approached. Especially if they were involved in the removal of the loop and redesigning of the ride. These are my predictions for 2007, just a very educated guess. Nothing more.

X-Flight is very smooth, especially when you consider its a Vekoma. X-Flight is a great ride, will be a great addition to KI, especially seeing as the majority of KI's guests probably have never been to GL or ridden X-Flight. I do hope that it gets a better name at KI.

Yeah because using a creek culvert as a tunnel is a great idea. The only problem would be if it ever rains heavy in Ohio. That creek might get a little more water in it than normal and flood over the track. Yup I think Cedar Fair and Kings Island are trying to eliminate problems and poetential problems with SoB, not create new ones.

From a cost aspect a Camp Ground is not cheap to run; staffing, upkeep, emenities, security. Unless they put in something like LightHouse Point I highly doubt the KI campground will open this year. I wouldnt expect the Camp Ground to come back for a few years if ever.

Well coming from a reliabe source like Rumor Smasher I too will now jump on the 2 rides bandwagon. Seriously though, the corrections being made to the track/structure on SoB would not be included in the $10 million figure, but I would think new trains on SoB would be included. There is a good portion of the funds going to new trains, another large part going to the instalation and painting of X-Flight, and the remainder is going towards general park maintence, beautification, and hopefully some reworked resturaunts inside the park. Smash That

What New Attraction Can We Expect From Cedar Fair

You know thats a very good description of KI. Unfortunately under Paramount Parks and especially CBS the underbody got a lot of rust built up. Hopefully Cedar Fair gives KI a good once over and some new paint. -
How times and food have changed. Best fries around are from the Cedar Point Midway Best upscale sit down meal is Mythos at IOA, kinda pricey and upscale though Best funnel cakes goes to DollyWood with Fresh Strawberry topping Best sitdown is Crown Colony Reserve at BGT Just to name a few of my favorite places for park food.

Once again, why go to a Larosas inside the park where you will pay inflated prices when you can visit Larosas right down the road outside the park? I know its a local favorite and all, but I want something different at theme parks. Thats why a place like Bubba Gumps does well, because the closest one is in Chicago. So I would rather see something unique inside the park rather than just another chain.
-
^ ^ Yes times have changed, because you were lucky to get real Chicken under CBS ownership. I think Cedar Fair will turn food services around at the park, atleast I hope they do, because that is one thing that Cedar Fair does very well. Speaking of ribs, I do believe the Bulwinkles in Miamisburg has the best ribs around. Montgomery Inn is fabulous, but there is just something special about Bulwinkles.

Wings needs more than a new menu, it needs to be gutted, rethemed, new store front, and tie it in to the area better. I think it would be more profitable to just keep it closed than to open it because I have never seen a crowd in there. Mainly because it is crap all around. Hopefully Cedar Fair will focus on this for next year.

Ice show??? Snoopy on Ice??? Show in FestHaus??? Least thats what I am thinking...
-
My big thing with the entertainment at KI is that they need more than 1 show and no the star search live doesnt count, because it is horrible. I hope they continue to have good shows, but they need more than 1. Wouldnt mind to see the ice show come back to the FestHaus.

What New Attraction Can We Expect From Cedar Fair
RailRider replied to RailRider's topic in Coming Attractions
I am just amazed at how people still throw out the idea that because Cedar Fair has a considerable amount of debt that they will not make additions to their parks because of this debt load. The parks are still profitable, actually very profitable, and yes the debt is considered good debt because it was taken on because of a large acquisition. WallStreet still looks favorably upon Cedar Fair and also there is a great opportunity for poetential because of the size of the company. SixFlags has parks that are loosing money, that have high debt loads, and are hurting from bad deals. (like their purchase of SeaWorld of Ohio and then sale of the entire property for far less than what they had put in to SFWOA) Companies must incur debt to grow, because very few have enough cash liquid to pay for expansions, so eventhough Cedar Fair has a debt load, they will continue to improve their parks and payoff their debt in time. It makes no sense to make that kind of purchase and then do nothing with those parks -
^ ^ Agreed with that. The only time Wings has ever had good or atleast halfway decent food was during FearFest this year with the buffet they had set up. I can go to Krogers buy the Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce, put it on my dogs food, and it is about the same as the ribs they serve at Wings. That resturant is in great need of an overhaul.

^ ^ ^ No No No, You are wrong about Magnum and its footings. The ones that are level with the groud are the ones that are currently sinking and the taller ones are the newly replaced footings that were sinking. Geesh Legend everyone knows Magnum is sinking...

I have always been a fan of the view out of the IR resturant at night with the Royal Fountains dancing in the light and the Tower and I-Street light up. Always thought it was a very relaxing place to go in the evenings when at the park.

^ ^ Interesting, would possibly work if they opened up the lower platform. But I would imagine it would have some issues with just the few elevators running up and down to it. But interesting idea.

Hmmm, funny how things work out. Seems like this is just one of those things that was destined to happen sooner or latter. I wonder if they ever second guessed their decision to build Son of Beast instead of putting a Flying Dutchman in? Kinda the less of 2 evils at that time, but now that decision just kinda hurts.

I would agree something more than just a plain everyday resturant should go in the place of the I-street resturant. Not another chain. Honestly I wish KI would get ride of some of their chain food stands. I prefer the blue ice cream and french fried potatoes soaked in vinegar any day over eating chik-fila or subway while Im at the park. Afterall the food is part of the expeirence.
