  1. Yeah I remember that too. Very nice area except when the bees were out. Kinda swarmed it. Last for sure date I could put on it was the last year for the orginal WinterFest, because it was decorated with lights and all that good stuff. Good question as to when that was removed. Sounds like its trivia time.
  2. In my front yard for the best neighborhood halloween decorations around.
  3. Yeah I will see it too. Eventhough as movies go it will be crap, but I know it will be very funny. Loved the golf and airhorns from the last one. Love the quote, that sometimes 7 is good enough. I think that sums it all up for Paramount Parks.
  4. Yeah it is pretty obvious that Paramount Parks could turn profit, because they cut back on many things that hurt the estethic value of the park. For example, who needs landscaping, screw painting rides or fixing up their stations and ques, and also making cuts on attraction. Hence the problems with IJ:ST Paramount parks did just enough to make the experience pleasent, the rides good, and the park enjoyable, but where did they ever excell? Nowhere, because they only did enough.
  5. ^ ^ Jasper, Why would Cedar Fair want to keep an area that is an advertisement for Paramount. Especially the updating aspect, that costs money, why do you think Paramount stopped updating it. Cedar Fair in all reallity will slowly get rid of the Paramount theme, but keep Nick, over the next few years. I honestly hope like previously stated, that the Paramount Story becomes just a quite garden setting for park guests to go relax. Besides I-Street this is the best place to relax during a good hot crowded day at the park.
  6. Paramount is the absolute king of Crap Movies. They use to be a leader in block busters, but now they aren't even average. Paramount I think has a lot of problems. Everything from subpar movies to the inability to run themeparks. Honestly we may be seeing the decline of Paramount is this is just the begining.
  7. I dont think you will see additional track added to to TG anytime soon. But we will see new paint and general maintence down the road. Arrow Suspended coasters are something of the past and I don't think you will see S&S building one anytime soon. Anyways a lot of rides end with still a lot of speed and energy left over. Look at TTD. That thing ends with 120 mph still in the tank...
  8. They are shooting a new commercial for this year? I figured they would edit last years commercial to include the new attractions. Or do they shoot a new commercial every year?
  9. Im confussed. Curse of the Crypt will be dark? Am I dumb and can't figure this out because my brain is fried from work or is Curse of the Crypt going to be part of another attraction? Someone please help...
  10. The columbus zoo will be making some big changes once the rerouting of Powell road is finished. The zoo will become more like Busch Gardens and SeaWorld. Not saying this will happen over night, but over the next few years we will see great changes happen at the zoo. Also just a neat little fact, because of Jack Hanah the Columbus zoo has tremendous backing through private and corporate investment. This is why the zoo has been able to run the Wilds in Zanesville, eventhough that property is still in the red. Quite a unique experience, go if you have never been.
  11. I know everyone is talking about WasteLand as being transformed to Holliday Horror, but I had an interesting conversation with my wife over the weekend and she brought up quite a good point. We were looking at the FearFest website and I was showing her the new ScareZones and talking about some of the rumors and ideas. She then brought up the fact that Cedar Point use to have a neat haunt in the picnic/beer garden at the front of the park called The Toxic Tunnel of Terror. Now whats even more interesting was the description on KI's site describing WasteLand sounded very similar to CP's TTT. She then asked if I thought it was possible that KI would be using the TTT props for WasteLand, because CP no longer uses them. Kind of interesting since Cedar Fair is running the show it is very possible they could use all of the props from TTT for a fright zone, but with all the rumors that Wasteland will be changed to Holliday Horror, I would say highly unlikely, but still interesting.
  12. Take for example the shops at the Busch Gardens parks, Islands of Adventure, and DollyWood; you can get some very unique things that you normally wouldnt find outside of the park, but are not necisarily park related. Like I said the best I have seen I-Street under Paramount was during WinterFest last year, even the stores had some unique non park related items and guess what my wife and I did some shopping in the park for a change.
  13. I honestly think that hurried yet thorough change, which CF had no choice to make, is part of GL's problems today. I honestly hope the park can come out of it, because it is a truly beatufil and fun park. I think we will see the same thorough changes at KI, but will not be as hurried as it was a GL.
  14. Completely agree, I-Street was fabulous, but Paramount closed the resturaunt and made the shops very subpar. The best I-Street has looked under Paramount was at last years WinterFest. I honestly think Cedar Point has one of the nicest midways around and I think Cedar Fair will do a lot to revitalize KI's. I also think Cedar Fair will do a lot to revitalize Food Services at KI. Compare KI's dinning options to CP's. I think we will see changes like that. Atleast I hope so.
  15. ^ I would agree with that completely. Seems like something along those lines did happen. I honestly dont expect CedarFair to keep the Paramount name or theme for very long. They didn't keep any signs of the SixFlags or Warner Brothers theme at GL. Keep Nick but thats it.
  16. Yeah the props in the Torture Tower were great. I honestly think that would have been amazing if they would have removed a floor pannel. Although sounds like that is just waiting for a bad accident to happen. I don't even trust the TVs you can walk over in resturants
  17. Honestly the Paramount Story is such a nice relaxing garden setting, that I would hope CF doesn't remove it. Instead remove the movie props and stuff like that and make it more of a Kings Island history garden. I think that would be a very easy change and you would still keep a nice tranquil garden that is off the beaten path of the park.
  18. Honestly though I am glad the P has been dropped from PKI because Paramount is honestly the king of suck fest films. How many more rides would they have been able to theme to Paramount movies??? If you look at what they have put out recently and whats coming out in the future there are very few that were box office success. Of those even less that would translate in to a themed ride. Glad with Cedar Fair we wont need to put up with these crappy movie themed rides. Especially one themed after the Core
  19. Thanks for the info, makes perfect sense now because I post about equally in KI topics as I do other topics.
  20. Just curious as to why not all posts are counted in your number of posts tally? For example I have just posted in 3 different topics, yet my cummulative post tally is still at 399. Just curious... Thanks for the info and help... #400
  21. That honestly sounds pretty cool, but Im glad its at the end of the seasson because those pools will be a mess afterwards. Also do you have to keep your doggie on his leash while swiming? I might need to get some swimmies or a nooddle for my doggie. Hes not much of a swimmer, wants to get out as soon as he gets in.
  22. ^ ^ ^ I completely agree, did you notice how fast the train is traveling through the heartline roll. That inversion reminds me of a snap roll that air show pilots perform. Very intense looking.
  23. Love the Maze of Maddness or Asylum. I still wish they would turn WWC in to an attraction like WereWolf Canyon at CP. Anyone ever been through that attraction? Very awesome experience.
  24. I was just making fun of the fact they had CornHole in the park. Almost as bad as having HorseShoes or Bademiton. Anyone ever seen Vegas Vacation, where Clark and Eddie go to the ripoff casino and play games like War, Pick-a-Hand, and Guess My Number. That is seriously what the CornHole game reminds me of at the park.
  25. Me so happy too!!! Sorry couldn't resist Seriously, very excited about Maverick, has anyone else noticed how fast the pov video shows Maverick taking the Heartling roll? That looks intense, especially with the roll through a canyon. Very cool looking.
