  1. ^ Traditional Celtic or Death Metal? Who would have thought there would be so much discussion regarding WindSeeker and its location. Thats a good thing for the park.
  2. So glad you finally posted this, I have been waiting since the facebook posts for the trip report to come up. I was so excited to see Miss Rae take her first big coaster ride on Scorpion. Classic Schwarzkopf looper, great introduction to more thrilling coasters. Good work on your part and a great moment to share, thanks. As always I look forward to the trip continuing can't wait to read further.
  3. Quality goes a long way around here. And Quantity gains you no more respect than someone with less quantity and greater quality. As said before, think before you post.
  4. I tell you what RailRider seeing you post more lately and from a few others has given me hope that things can turn for the better during this off-season. I still laugh about the Island incident and many other fun times I have had with some of the best people I have met anywhere. KIC still in my opinion has some of the best members with both a heart and a fun light hearted side to them, which makes KIC more like a community fan site versus just a fan site. I tell you what buddy I will work on that trip report and in return please try and post yours as I am very interested in seeing your experiences. Plus the fact that we can see beutiful Cloe growing before our eyes is a great bonus for us. I will make you a deal and get some of my long delayed Trip Reports up as long as you do the same. Like you said this is a community fan site and we need to refocus on the community aspect. Also I as well am happy that FD is getting some fresh paint even if it is staying the same.
  5. Heading to Dollywood for a Smoky Mountain Christmas Celebration this weekend.

  6. Disney is not priced or geard for a single day visit, nor are you doing yourself or the parks justice if you try and visit in only one day. As mentioned their pricing becomes more affordable the more days you stay and especially if you stay on site. Universal is now using this model. Disney is in a class of its own and in my opinion you get more than what you spend. I think my trip report linked bellow is a perfect example of that. The memories, the experience, the magic are almost priceless. Disney cannot be compared to the regional parks because they are in a different league as is Universal. Those that have gone and experienced what I am talking about understand. Disney if done right is not anymore expansive than many other vacations and there are quite a few experts around this site that have invaluable information. Disney and Universal do not want you visiting only 1 day and this is more incentive not to. Great business strategy and you as the customer will be much happier if you spend more days in the park.
  7. Still the best merch in the industry can be found at Dollywood / Silver Dollar City, Busch Gardens, and even Disney. I wish Cedar Fair would take notice that higher quality goods can be sold effectively within a park.
  8. I agree 100% with both of your sentiments. So many members that have valuable insight and opinions no longer share them because there is no point. The arguements about nothing, opinions being disrespected, and folks not sharing their experiences like they once did. The days of PKIC Survivor (Avatar stranded on a desolate island anyone), memorable trip reports, information and knowledge sharing by folks that knew of what they spoke, and discussions that were just plain fun. I remember when the off seasson was one of the best times to be a KIC member, but anymore it doesn't seem the case. I am to the point where I am even considering not posting my PTR from our trip to Yosemite or even one from our trip to Dollywood this weekend. I wonder if other members are feeling the same way. Avatar where is your Florida PTR? Almost seems like the community is gone.
  9. My understanding is that Q has 2 main requests. One they want CF to renegotiate their debts so they can pay a higher dividend and two they want to force Kinzel from his top spot on the board. While I partially agree with part of their requests, I would rather CF reduce their current debt loads so that long term they can continue paying a dividend and gradually increase the amount. I am affraid of renegotiating their debt and paying a higer dividend may be a beneficial short term strategy for unit holders, but may it lead to inability to repay dividends in the near future again? Just some thoughts I have about the whole situation. Wondering if Q wants the high dividends so they can flip their stock at a higher price.
  10. Zacks Investment Research has listed (FUN) on their #5 strong sell list. http://www.zacks.com/rank/commentary.php?type_id=5
  11. Gibson, you are right. The pavers are expensive and very labor intensive as compared to asphalt or even concrete. I have done many paver projects and the amout of labor alone is enough of a factor to go a different route, especially on large scale. I hope this area gets the DB plaza treatment when it is all said and done.
  12. Still sounds like a mess to me. I don't see this park ever breaking ground. How long have we been talking about it and still not one shovel full of dirt has been moved.
  13. More group sales and large increases in out of park revenues. Signs that the economy is turning around. Still the park is missing on in park revenue. Honestly if folks are staying at resorts and spending mutliple days in the park, in park revenue should increase. Time to scrutinize food and merchandise quality offered within the parks. I think there are some huge strides to be made in these areas and will only make the company stronger. Im sure many are happy at the return of the dividend.
  14. Yes! Really bloody midgets, how awesome is that. Kings Island, Where Else?
  15. Truly is an unfortunate accident and still glad to hear the girl is improving. Hopefully her youth will help her on her road to recovery. Regarding the park and the ride. Handsignals are great, but typically used with an additional safety features, a green go button pushed by an opp giving the thumbs up or even prox sensor to verify what the opps see visualy. Just amazed at what sounds like a lack of security features on this ride. Like you said tggrr, I will not claim to know all about ride safety features but this screams negligent when it comes to safety features by the ride mfg.
  16. I think certain unitholders will begin to talk louder of the removal of Kinze or changes in the board. The grumblings will become much louder in the near future.
  17. I don't know about Six Flags as a whole, but I'd think this should very much increase attendance in Magic Mountain. Keep in mind that Los Angeles is an extremely touristy area. As long as Magic Mountain can keep this record, they will have a much easier time convincing people to visit Magic Mountain rather than Disneyland, Knott's, Universal, etc. Since Cedar Point does not have any nearby competition, it really doesn't help them very much... I disagree about Disneyland vs Magic Mountain. 100 times out of 100 times I would go to Disneyland and I think the crowd that is attracted to Disney parks would generally make the same decision regardless of how many coasters SFMM has. See my trip report below you will understand why I say this. Even in LA tourists still flock to Disneyland, there is a reasson for this.
  18. Terpy just like games in amusement parks are not considered gambling, neither is the lottery. My head just hurts trying to figure that out. I always figured if we can have a lottery we can have a casino. Thanfully there are a few coming because votters passed the legislation not the state. Go figure...
  19. It's Halloween Haunt, all moral standards go out the window. That's what I have learned over the past two years.
  20. Drachen Fire:( I miss that brain beater...
  21. Still in my book a name does not take away or add to the coaster experience.
  22. ^ Right because you are going backwards so you will be fighting the G-Forces pushing on your neck and head trying to hold your head up, but the G's will be trying to push it down in to your lap.
  23. Just curious as to how the launch will work facing backwards? Think about how you will need to strain to hold your head against the headrest as you are launched. Financially does this make sense for Six? Should be interesting.
