Cedar Fair: Sale? Re-Finance? What Next?
And now we learn exactly why the Knotts were so unhappy with the deal. When you're holding 2 million units, you definitely want to get every nickel you can for them.

Kings Island New Website
According to who.is, the domain doesn't expire until July of next year, so it's likely that they just haven't linked it yet.

Special Treat from KingsIslandOnline
I dare anyone to find a commercial more annoying than this one: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d7iOMTNmQg&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x006699&color2=0x54abd6&hd=1"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d7iOMTNmQg&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x006699&color2=0x54abd6&hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d7iOMTNmQg&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x006699&color2=0x54abd6&hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Spirit Song 2010
They may not be well-known to you, but I've heard of most of the people performing this year. All nights should be good, as long as I can manage to pull myself away from the rides long enough (last year I ended up skipping most of the shows in favor of riding stuff instead ). Here are the websites for all the bands/artists for those who are curious The Basement Experience Abandon (MySpace) Fireflight Tenth Avenue North Family Force 5 (MySpace) Third Day Tom Richter Yellow Cavalier KJ-52 The Afters David Crowder Band Casting Crowns CJ Blount (MySpace) The Skit Guys Remedy Drive Brandon Heath Chris Tomlin Toby Mac Should be some good shows this year

Here's the official press release on the deal: http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/cedar-fair-and-affiliates-of-apollo-global-management-mutually-terminate-merger-agreement-89989157.html What did Kinzel expect considering unitholders would lose money on the deal?

Cedar Fair: Sale? Re-Finance? What Next?
Thanks again for your insight and thoughts on the situation Terp. I don't know what we'd do without you

Dark ride photos
I'll have to ride it opening day before I make my final decision on it. I loved the old Smurf ride and Scooby. I never rode it when it was Phantom Theater. This looks interesting but not sure it'll be as much fun as Scooby was.

Who rents the park on the Sun. after the park opens?
Cincinnati Financial also rents out The Beach every year. It's the only day during the regular operating season when the park is not open to the public (except for weather-related reasons of course).

Kings Island's 5@5 Q&A Thread
Apparently people are having their pets ask questions now (yes, people do make Facebook accounts for their pets)... Seriously... You can't ask that yourself?

Dark ride photos
Probably not. RealD is a specific type of 3D technology (not to mention a trademarked one). The park hinted in one of the 5@5 things that these will be disposable 3D glasses. It would likely cost them far too many nickels to use the RealD technology to make it worth your while, especially since some guests like to treat the fancier 3D glasses as free souvenirs even when encouraged to recycle (I have seen guests walking around with the 3D glasses from Spongebob before).

Kings Island's 5@5 Q&A Thread
I'm not too crazy about Tower Gardens being a smoking area either. Hopefully it's just a small out-of-the-way section and not the entire area.

Kings Island's 5@5 Q&A Thread
They always post the note a day early (usually within an hour or two of the time the answered the current day's questions). That gives us plenty of time to fling interesting questions at them, and them plenty of time to choose the most interesting ones to answer (as well as research anything that needs researching). I would be very surprised if this wasn't an April Fool's joke.

Hotels Near KI
I did a little research for you. There are two hotels close to KI which offer similar amenities at a fairly reasonable rate: Comfort Suites on Kings Center Drive (right up the road from KI just past the Harley store) - everything except the microwave for around $60 a night for one person Hyatt Cincinnati-Northeast on Natorp Boulevard (half a mile north of I-71 off of Mason-Montgomery Road [1 exit south of KI]) - king bed and everything except the microwave for around $80 a night for one person Comfort Suites would probably be your best bet - it's really close to KI and it's cheaper than the Hyatt.

Boo Blasters On Boo Hill
You forgot Come and Smell The Funnel Cakes. Cedar Point has some great food, as does Dorney Park. Cedar Point has delicious pizza back by Maverick, frozen custard, many love Midway Market...I had had delightful meals at the Boathouse...and Dorney has some excellent pizza and has in the past had excellent kosher food...while it was owned by Cedar Fair. Let us also not forget the ultra-generic "Drop Tower"...

Glasses or Contacts?
I wear glasses because they're a lot less trouble than contacts. I've worn them on most rides (without the dorky-looking straps ) without any problems. Firehawk is about the only ride (besides the water rides) that I take my glasses off for, simply because you're facing the ground most of the time and I'm not sure how long my glasses would stay on that way.

Planet Snoopy Ride Names Announced!
Snuffles was great! The surprising thing is that most HB shows didn't last more than a season ot two, yet the characters are quite memorable.

Planet Snoopy Ride Names Announced!
Pixie and Dixie were the mice who got chased by a large orange cat known as Mr. Jinx. Quickdraw was the horse best known for yelling "El Kabong!" as he bashed a villain on the head with his guitar...

KI's Skyline
Lots of great photos! Can't wait for the 17th... On the subject of chili, I prefer Dixie Chili. Sadly, none of their three locations are close to KI, but it's really good if you're ever near nothern Kentucky.

Planet Snoopy Ride Names Announced!
I sincerely doubt that the new Snoopy theme will have any noticeable impact on kids' decisions about going on a particular ride. I worked in the kiddie area of KI during the final season of KI. Four of the five rides I worked at were HB themed (the other was Beastie). Not once did I hear kids complaining about not knowing who the HB characters were. The kids cared far more about the actual ride experience than the theme.

Kings Island's 5@5 Q&A Thread
Today's questions... Decided to ask them something different this time instead of re-posting my question from yesterday... http://www.facebook.com/visitkingsisland#!/note.php?note_id=378690396948

What are you planning on doing first...
Thanks. The 1/2 hour early entrance to Snoopy land should be fun - nothing like an excuse to rack up rides on Woodstock Express (though I much preferred it as Beastie).

A question for enthusiasts...
I haven't really decided. I love coasters and want to ride as many as possible, but I don't know much about different designs, manufacturers, etc. I have played RCT3 some as well. I am an enthusiast of various other things - Archie Comics, storm sirens (yeah, I know... I'm weird ) and driving - I love driving around exploring areas and uncovering hidden gems in those areas.

Source? I can't imagine why they wouldn't have ERT on opening day.
