  1. Its removal just shows that the powers that be at SF weren't thinking. At a time when the chain was in deep financial trouble, they had that ride dismantled to make way for a planned water park expansion which was to open next year.
  2. I am wondering though. If that is indeed from SFKK, why would it be up here? Louisville is a good 90 minute drive from here. The state fair board is based in Louisville, and most othe state offices would be in Frankfort. Why would they pick a crane company in Wilder to dismantle it, haul it away and store it?
  3. Thanks for the address. That's only 10 to 15 minutes from where I work. I'll go check it out when I have time. I'll also show this topic to my sister and see if she thinks it's Chang. I haven't been to KK in probably close to 15 years (before SF owned it and before Chang existed), but she was there a couple years ago, so she might be able to identify it.
  4. If they want wifi at the park, they should talk to the folks at Lily Pad, who specialize in providing free wifi throughout the Cincinnati area. Good to hear they're working on it (and contrary to what was said in a previous 5@5, Starbucks at KI does not have wifi - or at least they didn't this past Saturday).
  5. Where exactly is this place located? I work in Newport, so I might be able to swing by there after work tomorrow or Saturday to check it out.
  6. Getting rid of Heinz shouldn't be much of a concern. They should be much more concerned with how they're going to get rid of all that Red Gold ketchup they ordered...
  7. That's quite funny I should get in on that case - I got "abused" pretty badly after bowing to a dare from my sister to ride back seat immediately after riding front seat (back when it still had the loop). Big mistake. It's a shame the ride has had so many problems. I loved it when it had the loop. Sure it was a rough ride, but that was half the fun in my opinion.
  8. Feel free to correct me someone, but they drained it due to the fact that it was a standing pool of water, no circulation system or anything. From what I have heard, on a hot summer day it could get pretty nasty. That's the most logical explanation. Mosquitoes love standing water, and mosquitoes + summer heat = not a very fun experience I would love to see the original queue setup. I know there used to be a snack stand there too.
  9. If the forecasts for this weekend hold true, there won't be much of a wait for any ride except Boo Blasters and Flight of Fear...
  10. Note that they no longer have a notes tab on their page - instead you have to go in through the Boxes tab. I hope nobody ruins this one as well. I was surprised that they answered my question to begin with (although not really surprised at their response), but never expected someone to yell at them about it like that.
  11. Interesting tidbit related to this... As of this past Saturday (the 17th), packets of Heinz ketchup were still available at the Skyline on International Street. I'm wondering if this is because Skyline has a say in which ketchup is used at their restaurants (just like they have a say in which cheese, hot dogs, etc. are used regardless of what's used elsewhere in the park).
  12. Major failure. HAHA I know that is a major failure........I guess if your an obsessed KI addict you will do that..... For me it would depend on how many nickels said trip to Orlando would cost me...
  13. The commericals for American Freight are much, much worse than the Allgood commercials. On the American Freight ads, the guy is YELLING through the whole thing. If I have the remote in my hand when it comes on, I always hit "Mute". Yelling at me to come to your store does not work for me. But GatorGirl loves it when I imitate the guy. I've seen those as well. I still think the Allgood ads are more annoying, especially when they claim to "save you a lot of money", but the sample terms they show result in you paying back nearly twice what you borrowed...
  14. Sad to see that someone has to use 5@5 for that. I was surprised that they even answered my question yesterday, and while it wasn't the answer I (or anyone else) was looking for, I just accepted it and moved on. No need to get nasty about it. Hopefully the questions will improve for tomorrow.
  15. You might be a KI addict if you are constantly thinking of new questions to ask in the 5@5 thing on Facebook
  16. Maybe they're just trying to convince people to shell out more nickels for an all-day locker at the front of the park...
  17. They didn't exactly answer my question, but I tried.
  18. I personally don't care when I get them. If I'm too busy to read it when it arrives, I'll just look at it when I have time. The only time I ever turn my phone off completely is during church.
  19. Oldiesmann replied to rsipus13's topic in KI Polls
I'm not sure how long I'd wait - a lot would depend on the particular situation (what ride it was, etc.). I voted 4+ hours though because my sister and I waited about 5 hours for Firehawk the day it opened.
  20. I noticed that Boocifer stood out a bit more with 3D glasses on, but that's about it as far as I could tell. Fortunately the glasses were only $1 so it wasn't a huge waste.
  21. Unfortunately, just because there's Gold Pass parking doesn't mean you'll be able to park there if you have a Gold Pass. It often fills up quickly on busy days, and there were times last year when they didn't even have an employee standing there checking passes.
  22. Now that the season has started up again, it's time to revive this thread. Guest waiting in line for Boo Blasters, referring to a section of wallpaper peeling from the wall: "They had to replace the ride. They couldn't afford to fix the wallpaper."
  23. For those who have ridden Boo Blasters, what's your high score? I somehow managed to score 1590 the first time I rode it yesterday, but didn't come close to that the second time (I think my 2nd score was 938 or somewhere around there).
  24. Another "new" thing I noticed yesterday - there are no longer any vending machines in the Delirium queue. Just a big empty space.
