Why do people keep saying 'restore'. You act like Kings Island went from being a classic car - to a 1997 kia rio. (no offense to any rio drivers, im sure its a lovely car) The 'many' that agreed to the decline of the park, have all been the 'paramount hate club'... Will Cedar Fair keep the Paramount name??? Uh - no. Thats like driving a ford with toyota rims. Or even better, buying a Continental plane ticket, and demanding your seat on the United flight. This question, as with other timeless classics regarding how paramount: "sucks, destroyed the park, is cheap, over charges, stole great rides from us, cares not about the theming - blah blah blah.... has been beaten to death. I may be on my own little wagon off in the distance - but when the paramount logo comes down off that sign, a very long chapter of the Kings Island history book will close. They have made lasting great installations and were able to keep the park competitive with CP. That in itself, is noteworthy. Im just waiting for the announcement that Winterfest will be "postponed"... if this was a paramount announcement, well you know what kind of posts would follow - but since its the almighty CF at the wheel now - it will be okay. im done now... goodnight!!!

Anyone will care, if enough dollar signs are presented. The last time I rode IJ, the physical cars that you can buy, looked clean. The mini's on the ride "resemble" true minis.... and lets be honest. If you are potentially buying a BMW, do you really care about the mock up rolling stock on the ride? Of course not, youre to concerned with what type of rims and sound system you can trick your new ride out with... I wish I had a bmw

People on here arent positive toward pki??? I hadnt noticed, Ive been to busy reading about how great the park was 20 years ago, and how back in the day things were different. Funny side note - according to some random moron on the daytondailynews.com website - people were exiting sob all day 'bloody' and he was there... "all day watching"...

Shaggy.... The good times driving The Beast... but you know that when you had the hard rain in the shed and the train was going over 33 you were 'supposed' to call it in. But lets not pretend doing The Beast twister with the rain really helped out those power hours

Just as an FYI ... You are no longer able to purchase advance Winterfest tickets at the park, on the phone or via the parks website.

The main difference i see... Is that they would be starting from scratch. Slapping a movie name on a coaster is essentially all they could do in some cases. In most cases rollercoasters dont lend themselves verywell to be highly themed - 'most' cases... not all... I agree that it will be interesting to see how it plays out.... It will be a 'from the ground up' project no doubt

but many many more enjoy what TRTR is...

has it been mentioned in this lengthy topic that the Cedar Fair home page lists the paramount parks... as paramount parks???

It seems that 95% of the people here are under the impression that CF is CP. This is not the case. The other CF parks dont hold a candle to CP. For those of you who have been to the other parks in the LP you know that this parks differ drastically from CP with regards to operations and mgt. I have been to WoF, Valleyfair, Dorney, MA and GL and to be honest they didnt really remind me of Cedar Point... So all these people that say theres a CF way of doing things... its more like a CP. Cedar Point is unique unto itself. I think any educated enthusiest would be more inclined to speculate about the paramount parks looking off of the other every other park in Cedar Fair - except CP. my 2 cents

Interpreter When you say "original score" - i think you mean custom arrangement. Hardly any of the Disney show music is 'original'. I would venture to say a vast majority of it is popular themes they quote in the show. So you would have to agree that the music for the Nick Parade, the Winterfest parade and the winterfest shows all had custom arrangements, like Disney has....

um - for some reason i dont see either of those things happening.... hmm i wonder why.... maybe every Cedar Fair park will get one of those cool bronze statues that disney world has of Walt, only... it will be dick kinzel with 25 cent cotton candy

It certainly would be in the parks best interest right now to make sure they get the date right on that shirt.

When i worked at CP two summers ago - he was seen regularly. He would chat with the employees etc, he seems very personable. More so than others on the CP totem pole.... However, you can tell that this guy rules CF with an iron fist. Good luck trying to stop him to say hi, because he will already have stopped you. oh and about the extesion onto his CF contract, there was an article in the sandusky register about him staying longer.... The Sandsuky Register is not exactly the most noteworthy newspaper, so you have to take it with a grain of salt...

I think your last statement is bakwards - you said something to the effect of : - children wont say "mommy i dont want to go to Kings Island because they dont have nickelodeon..." - you missed all of the kids who say "mommy i want to go to Kings Island becuase they do have nickelodeon" If you can get children to see these commercials where they can go meet dora - ride blue etc etc etc - more often than not the kid will probably say something. The funny thing about some of the other statements in this thread - about how children wont notice and or care that nick is gone.... There are people on here who still ***** and moan about how tiques are gone, as well as scooters. My personal opinion is that CF would be missing the mark if they let nick go. Any tool bag moron can tell you just by walking through a meijer or walmart, that the walls are stacked with nick merchandise. Would the loss of Nick be detrimental to 'kiddie land' ... of course not - but does it help in marketing - absolutely. We'll see - the one thing we should keep in mind though, is that not every PP has the nick themed area like PKI's. Some of theme are rather small and some still have a nick area - and another non-themed nick area.
