What are you looking forward to most?
King Maple The Tree King replied to Cory Butcher's topic in Kings Island
Save the past relationship bitterness for your myspace and off of these boards. -
I'm with the interpreter on this one, there are many people gone from my life whom I wish I could go back to KI or just see in my presenence anywhere again. Those who I've lost over the years. If you go to KI you should be going there to create good memories not dwell on bad ones. Relationships can come and go but the ones you love wont always be here.

^Thanks for pointing that out jzarley, also in regards to your post Cory Butcher, sure there are simalaritys between LeSourdsville Lake and Geuaga Lake, however their circumstances are quite different from everything regarding management, ownership, zoning, location, economy, area, and work force. There are multiple other factors that you have forgotten to take into consideration and really their circumstances are not that similar. The fate of Geauga Lake is still to be determined and how this upcoming season goes for them will be one of many things to determine that fate.

Brad, you made a really good myspace for The Beast! Although for someone who sat in that que line for years as an excellent worker, I thought you would've had the facts memorized that its 135ft and 72 miles per hour with 1800 riders per hour.

Kings Island Tempts Taste Buds in 2007
King Maple The Tree King replied to Reclaimer's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
^HOpefully on the un-used side so that, that are of the festhaus doesn't look abandoned and nasty. I hate to say it but for once I think I'm actually excited about the food at the park. No offense but the LaRosas pizza is awful and they never had much choice of anything else. Boneless Wings, Chineese Food, Deep Fried PRetzels.....mmmm! -
They need trains to test the redesign of the track+ these trains were cheep by comparison. PTC will not just put trains on a track they like to create trains for the ride PTC didnt want to make trains the first time SOB was built, now the coaster is being re-built, what makes you think that even after they were weary of the ride the first time, and after there was accident, that they want to make trains now? Sparky is trying to drive this point home to you in a sarcastic way, and RZ in a very logical way. Both of them are right, yet you dont seem to get it, so I'll drive it home to you in this blunt yet straightforward way: A ) Wooden Rollercoaster trains are generally not mass produced, and can be VERY expensive regardless of manufacturer, and if they've been used or not. B ) The Philadelphia Tobaggan company said Hell no the first time, because they were weary of the ride. Now what they feared (an accident) has occuoured, and even more negative press has been placed on that ride. They dont want their products associated with it. C ) PTC makes some of the most expensive trains out there. D ) A company that just spend 1.2 billion dollars aquiring parks doesnt not want to spend thousands of dolllars on new trains when they feel they can just get used ones and properly modify them. E ) It was already confirmed and stated by Ms. (soon to be Mrs. (Congratulations Maureen!)) Kaiser that Gerstauler trains would be used (Not tested before they run PTC's in 08, but yes they willbe USED) on Son of Beast and MPB confirmed it had shipped two trains (Gerstauler, imagine that) to KI. Sorry, no PTC's, not anytime soon atleast.

You can read about the house within the fort here: http://www.abandonedonline.net/index.php?catid=383 And see some pictures here: http://www.abandonedonline.net/index.php?c...84&photos=1 These were taken with consent of the park by those with the approved access.

Ah! Yes! How I forgot they purchased some slides from Wyandot. It will be interesting to see if these go in next year and where they go in, the park seems a bit land locked but I'm not sure on its dimensions and how much space it actually has. Does anyone know what the slides they use for the Toboganing at Holiday Fest are reguarly used for or where they came from? I dont remember if The Beach purchased any slides from Surf Cincinnati or not.

While entertaining some colleagues today at the Skyline off of the Kings Mills exit on I-71 I noticed in the field across the restauraunt there were pieces of what appeared to be a tan and a black water slide. The field was located quite some distance from the parking lot so I could'nt see too many details. I was'nt sure if there were two seperate slides in the field or if they were one, but there were two seperate colors of tubing and a truck with a crane on it. Here are some pictures I shot from the parking lot. Pardon the quality, I had to shoot through a car window... At first I figured they may be delivering a new attraction, maybe two, but hadn't seen anything on The Beach's website. Now I haven't been to The Beach in awhile but thought maybe they might be removing I think it was called "Twighlight Zoom" when I saw the black slide. It's still on their site but who knows. Anyone know anything else?

I love how some people just have all the time in the world to waste with such trivial things. -
Getting rid of the Rehire Status?

^It's scary to think that this man is a father....knowing that its true is just absolutely depressing. What has to world come to? -
No need to shoot him down or be rude Nemo he has the right to ask. According to the news at the time of the sale petey, CF promised to honor the capital expenditures that were planned by former owners, CBS. In the past Capital expenditures meant new ride or multi-million dollar expansion, however with the cost cutting CBS had in mind and their lack of desire to keep the parks, the capital expenditures could be new benches and paint.

By the way, on your site, epki, you have bootleg footage of the school of rock show. The show is copyrighted material and requires permission to have it reproduced through other mediums. I'm assuming you dont have permission since you didnt cite it.

If you were Cedar Fair, what would you do...
King Maple The Tree King replied to Young Gunz's topic in KI Polls
You know Cedar Fair usually contracts jobs like those to outside companies, and they actaually get done. No chair races at Cedar Fair parks. If that's the case, then there's no excuse for why they can't renovate Disaster Transport and repair the theming on it, let alone waste over a billion dollars buying five more parks with half of their attractions themed and themed well....for an amusement park of that caliber, at least. What theming has suffered on Disaster Transport? I've been there many times this year and while its not that extensive all the theming still works. You see CP kept in focus what they knew they could maintain, its not the most highly themed ride or of the best quality yet it doesnt suffer every year like the rides at Kings Island. -

what is the new ride for next season?
King Maple The Tree King replied to rollerocasterfreak's topic in Coming Attractions
Tom Cruise sat on his rich, lazy butt and refused to sign certain rights over to CBS' Paramount Parks allowing them to make the Mission Impossible:Stunt Spectacualr (hence why it is now called Paramount: Stunt Spectacular). The original concept for IJ:ST was to be a compact themed coaster featuring Vekoma's turbo bikes design and have it themed to Mission Impossible 2 or 3 depending on how the production of III went (when the concept was developed by David Cobb the 3rd movie was just a script). The original plan called to use Vekoma's turbo bike design yet due to design issues and Vekoma filing for bankruptcy protection a few years ago the idea was changed to use Premeir's LIM system. -
Not likely. Guess again.

Kidz Bop At Dorney Park
King Maple The Tree King replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Whats your problem with the interpreter, atleast his posts are relavant to the site and interesting, and usually are put up for a reason. CoastersnSich, was there any need to post to that website, being the fact that I am an African American and somewhat understand that joke, I dont mind it, but what about someone who hasnt heard of YTMND. Your link isnt relavant and has the potential to really offend someone. -
Me and so many others want King Cobra back!
King Maple The Tree King replied to beastrider5334's topic in Kings Island
The steel was not sub par but did not have the life expectancy that was hoped for. Around 1999 was when the maintenace teams first started noticing how quickly it was deterirating, no ones safety was in jeopardy, but soon routine maintenace items started developing and happening more quickly to the point where the coaster was down more than it was up and it was becoming too costly to fix. The steel used on the other two American togo stand ups is a different grade and they have held up longer, King Cobra was demolished to rising maintenace costs and how quickly it was aging. King Cobra is not coming back and can never come back.
