Fearfest...err...Halloween Haunt is one of my favorite times at Kings Island. I'm so glad that this year I will be back in the cincy area in time for the event and will get to take my whole family. Myself, wife, and all 5 of our kids will be using our Maxx Passes, this is always a great event and I'm sure Cedar Fair will make it even better.

Dont forget the integrity towards their employees, which put bluntly, they have as little respect for service towards their employees as they do thier guests.

Dont worry, he's the only one who thinks hes funny, woofer never really has any backing for what he says. It's like when he criticizes Kings Island but he hasn't even been to the park this season or the past season oh and I love when he criticizes how Paramount ran the park but although he did work for the park at one time he never worked under Paramount because Paramount didn't want him back. He thinks this situation at Disneyland is something to laugh about but those of us with intelligence do not find it funny and I'm share the parents of these children would'nt find his jokes funny either. Due to the fact that I recently experienced a death in my family I was unable to make it to the event on 8/5/07 but from reading your guys trip reports and speaking to friends it seems like it was a great event. Boddah, I hope you and your team put one on next year cause you can definently count me in. From talking to friends I heard there was a some sort of slide show or photo showing of pictures from Americana/LeSourdsville lake in it's current "defunct" state. Is the slideshow online? Were these new pictures? Can anyone clue me in on some info here? I was a huge fan of Lesourdsville and would kill to see how it looks now.

Wait, Henry, was this an email to the PR director of HW or another forum user from another site? I wouldn't believe someone representing the park would something so nasty in reply to your email. For someone involved in marketing like that even if you had written her a nasty email she could've ingored it or tried to be nice about it but you didn't even say anything rude or mean, you even praised the park! My confidence in Holiday World's Golden Ticket for friendliness has thouroughly been shaken, you never saw Maureen or Tony Clark act like this in an email or on the CP blog! What a joke!

So are you saying the accident could have been prevented on Son of Beast had the crew hit the E-stop properly? Thanks for sharing some inside info cory! Please keep us posted! I would like to say that you werent the only one to visit www.pki.com yesterday and check out the ride info. Atleast now that it was pointed out here, people will see it.

The whole non-compete agreement rumor thing is completely bogus. Think about it, if such an agreement existed Cedar Point would have to be paying B&M quite a large sum of money to keep them out of KI then in return not purchase any B&M products in the last 11 years for the park theyre trying to keep KI from getting an edge on and then purchase 4 rollercoasters from their competition, a company of who the two B&M head designers were once a part of. If such an agreement were so CP would had to have been paying B&M quite a large sum of money and it probably wasn't worth it just to keep KI from geting a similar coaster when they did nothing about that park 50 miles down the road from getting a B&M productLike Brown said, such an agreement. By the time Geauga Lake was installing a B&M, they were also installing another major rollercoaster and Six Flags had made it apparent that it was going to try and give Cedar Point a run for its money (although they ultimately failed), I would think a non-compete clause would apply to them since they at the time were becoming more of a threat than the park at the southern end of the state. I dont think there ever was a non-compete clause maybe like Browntggrr said... That could be, or maybe B&M just didn't want to do business with Kings Island. Paramount Park successfully purchased multiple B&M's for other parks like PGA and PCWi, two in each park to be exact. But with all due respect to KI, it has a history of purchasing cheap prototypes and when they dont work as envisioned the Fishchers and the Webers liked to bite the hand that fed and turn right around and attempt to sue them. and as Interp stated, PP had its own brands it liked to use; such as Premeir rides.

The Beast has always had trim breaks, even since 1979, they just havent always been the same magnetic ones, the magnetic ones just stop you quicker than the old skid breaks did but you still travel at the same speeds. As far as ride experience this year, the ride is running great and seems to have had a lot of track work done, a very nice ride indeed. The crew, as always on this ride, has always been extremely fast and friendly in my few visits this early season. There was a young child who was fearful of riding with his two friends and one of the ride operators offered to ride with him and encouraged him to ride and really got the kid excited about the ride, I'm glad to see such guest interaction and friendliness at a park that at times has lacked it all over in the past. I also rode a few times on a wheel seat this past weekend, a bit rough, but its The Beast, just a different experience.

I wasn't saying the trees were removed, I was remarking at how the recent construction of both Paramount and Cedar Fair has left the expanded areas without and new trees or landscaping, just weeds.

I would like you to know the stuffed animals are much more than 50 cents thanks, try researching your facts or at least knowing something before you bash such a money making department. Oh really? How was he supposed to research it? Care to share with us where online we can find the prices and all the info regarding product amounts, ordering info, surplus, price, shipping costs, etc. online or withing public reach? I'm pretty sure those numbers are kept by the park and ernie really isn't able to research them wtih his available resources so before you get all defensive about your seasonal at will employment and wanna harp on someone for not getting their facts straight, make sure the facts are out there for them to get.

I apologize - I didnt see your response. Also with all due respect I have seen XF in operation many many times. KI ride ops might be the greatest ops in the world but guests are guests and Firehawk is not easy to load quickly. I am sure they will do the best they can but the ride is what it is. Anyone remember King Cobra? With all due respect, you never worked on X flight in the years it was at the park, just viewed it as a guest and the same with King Cobra.

Thats a very nice thing you did for the girl and the games can be expensive as well as extremely challenging with the odds in the parks favor and she may have only been 12 but you do realize what you did was considered theft dont you?

Absolutely nothing of the plans that KI and CF have set into motion to improve the rides capacity and operation as well as things both KI and GL's excellent maintenace teams have done to improve the trains and reliability of the rides electronics. Considering you dont work in KI's park operations, haven't traveled to the future, nor have any idea on how the coaster is to run I dont believe you have any valid opinion on the capacity of its future use. Like Maureen stated at SOAR, its basically a whole new ride openeing with how much work has been done to it and its at a new home with new crews and new maintenace teams as well as new components whom CF feel are obviously better prepared to operate this wonderful ride or they wouldn't have moved it here so past experiences dont really do much on this matter considering how much can possibly change. Time will tell but I'm holding up high hopes for how well CF has seem to have done wtih KI so far.

I agree with Delorean Rider, after getting my MAXX pass and visiting this weekend I noticed capacity was very, very good both days I attended the park, considering no one on here whos home park is GL really has a hands on experience of how operations go about at KI in terms of ride capacity nor know how the park intends on running Firehawk and has only experienced GL and Six Flags running X flight (whose reputations were not good to say the least) I dont think their opinion is very valid. Only time will tell though.

Lauch, let me start off by apoligizing to you. You'll notice my post is edited, sorry about the whole two strikes thing. I mistook you for another forum member who was trying to convince everyone that the Nick Parade would be back this year when in fact it is not. I am extremely sorry for the accusation, it was very irate and wrong of me, thank you for letting us know about the lights as I am very glad to see them come to the park this year! I hope you and your step daughter enjoy KI numerous times this season!
