Brown, if you don't mind I'm going to let Dalefan be to me what JacksonPKI is to you as in; I just got some new humor signature!

Wow, just wow!

-Thanks Brown for getting that one . -Oh, well then, just cause you haven't head any complaints.....well by golly George then they must not exist. In fact, they do exist. The park came under a lot of scrutiny during the first Nights of Fire when they did their fireworks even later than usual and for multiple nights. Many citizens went to city council about it and it was all over the local Cincinnati media. During Channel 5's coverage of the Halloween Haunt media night this year they included a clip of Kings Mill's and Mason citizens who were complaining about noise from the park being open till 1 A.M. on certain nights. The park is currently on a local ordinance that prevents them from doing fireworks any later than 10 P.M. unless its during pre-planned events that have been approved by local authorities (Nights of Fire/Star Spangled Celebration). -A few things here oh great misinformed one; Six Flags is the name of a chain of amusement and theme parks not just a "certain named theme park". The state report has not been released on the SFKK accident and any information regarding the cause of the accident, specifically the upkeep has not been officially released. Therefore you are in no position to criticize how the ride was kept up. No one is sure what exactly caused all the factors in the accident. -Sure bring it up all you want, I'm just saying the points you brought up are constantly shot down and proven wrong every time they are brought up.

Not to pick on you DaleFan, but the whole "Top Gun is not popular and needs to go" argument is not only flawed, but beaten to death and has been proven wrong and discussed on these forums so many times... -You missed the i in popularity. Not to mention Top Gun is not "losing popularity", it's a high capacity ride that is still frequented just as much as any of the other big coasters. The only time you ever see a decent line for The Beast is on a saturday, during the week you can walk on and off. Same thing with Top Gun, top gun just puts people through faster. If it was "unpopular" then you'd probably see it be the first thing to close when there are staffing issues early in the season and late in the fall. -It's very expensive to move into and build on previously undeveloped land, their property lines goes all the way back to the Miami river. -The property in the woods behind Kings Island is not all flat and it is not all very appealing to be built upon, not to mention as they expand they get closer and closer to the suburbs that already complain about noise. How is TG losing it's popularity? I been going to the park for along time and i seen once it had maybe a hr wait and thats it. -I can remember going to the park in 1999 and seeing The Beast line all the way out to the Eifiel Tower and The Vortex line back to Antique treats, these rides never have their lines that long anymore and are walk ons during the week....are they unpopular? No, not at all. There is just simply more to do. In 1993 Top Gun was new and unexperienced by man guests, since then many, many other attractions have been added, there's just more to do in the park these days. -How a ride is painted is no indication of how ''popular" it is. It's still maintained just as well as the other steel coasters. -Maybe thats because none of the new names for the (soon to be) former Paramount rides at Kings Island have been announced. You'll be looking at another Flight Deck and more great years to have the chance to ride it. -This horse is dead and beat so bad, why remove something that isn't broken, has high capacity, and is still enjoyed on a consistent basis by park guests when there is land to put a new coaster elsewhere. There is absolutely no reason or logic behind thinking Top Gun will be removed.

I'll just let that speak for itself. hahahaha.

Who said that? I can't think of anyone in the rides dept. (who would have that information) who would have told you that, thats a bunch of hear say. The ride didn't have a "computer failure". The ride did require a major part replacement. Due to the size of the replacement part and extensive work to take care of it, the ride had to be closed for the rest of the 07 season. The ride will return in 2008 and I highly doubt its on the chopping block for 2009. Even if it was, ride associates and sups hardly ever have any legit "inside information" and their superiors above them would most likely not reveal those things.

^Hi, welcome to KICentral, you just started posting yesterday, this is your 2nd post. A lot of us who read here and post regularly are familiar with Jackson's typical one word responses and responses the contribute nothing to the topics, just clutter up space and add nonsense. Parrot was very polite to him. Perhaps Jackson could have elaborated more hence Parrot's request to him. Seeing as that you are not a mod or an admin, but a brand new poster here, you're not in the position to be chastising any members of these forums.

i'm glad someone else feels this way! I'm also sick of his one word responses which are not allowed according to this web sites Terms Of Service. Isn't there a feature to ignore users? I'm not returning to work at KI this year....haven't worked there in many, many years... My kids loved working there though back when we were in Cincinnati.

Vote for a fictional Kings Island President!
King Maple The Tree King replied to italianchef's topic in KI Polls
Agreed! Sorry, i had to... -
Except one baker actually knows how to bake the cake through experience, while the other just thinks he knows.

And next HauntGuy will write the revised and expanded version of that famous book, How To Win Friends And Influence People. HauntGuy, how many haunts have YOU designed and sold? Time to retire? Sheesh....To say that is insulting is to be kind. Oh, I forgot. You are the arbiter of all things haunt...and have previously caustically criticized the haunt people at Kings Island, saying you could do a far better job. Why not go out in the industry and try it? Mr. Pickel is quite successful. His sales speak for themselves. What do your sales tell us? Wow Leonard has made a career out of the haunt industry, hauntguy was a bottom line actor for a few years at Kings Island... HauntGuy, you need to get a grip on the real world, loss your arrogance, and learn from the others who obviously know what they are doing. Leonard made some excellent points in recent posts and even made a career, a very sucessful one, out of the industry. I think he's the one who knows what he's doing....not you.

A rickety home made ferris wheel in some Indian market, it was meant to be a joke. While we probably won't be seeing a new ride next year, im willing to bet Cedar Fair is taking the fun in a new direction in 2008.

How do you rate the food service at Kings Island?
King Maple The Tree King replied to Young Gunz's topic in KI Polls
Nah, while CP has decent sit down places like Fridays and Johnny Rockets their service and quality is not much better than KI's. Selection is though, as there are all kinds of different stuff at CP but none of it is of the quality like KI used to be. I remember when getting food at a theme park was part of the experience, special treats and sweets you couldn't get at home, it was part of the excitement. It seems like in the 90's most of the wanna-be theme parks of Six Flags and Paramount went to fast food type eateries all over their parks. I only bought food once this year during my visits to KI and that was when I bought Pizza from Rivertown LaRosa's. When I asked for a large pepperoni I had to keep repeating myself because the employee couldn't hear me over the loud rap music coming form the back. I was given a large cheese pizza and told the boy about the mistake, he rolled his eyes and yelled at the guys in the back who couldn't hear him over the music. He must have yelled about 3 times, although he did apoligize to me about the mistake. When I got to the end of the line before the lady sitting there even rang me up, she typed something on her cell phone, then rang me up and told me the price. I got the money out to pay her and before she took it she was texting away again. I could have easily stolen a bunch of those cookies off of the rack without her seeing. Finnaly I got my change and went outside sipping my fanta which tasted like watered down orange drink. I went inside asking if the same girl at the register if i could see a manger, she immediately put her phone in her pocket and yelled to the back. Out of the back walks an area manager while the rap music was still playing. The manager was nice but didn't do anything about the cell phone or music playing as all of it was still going on when my daughter walked in 10 minutes later to buy a souveneir cup. Idk what the deal is, its not like the service is that bad throughout all of the park. I had an incident where a game employee short changed me on accident once this year and was really apolegectic and helpful with the problem and the rides kids are always good. Also, foods people are the only ones that i still see some of them wearing those older uniforms with the different collar (not the star and film strip ones) that were last worn in 04! STILL in 2007! -
Many people still work at the park in the off season. From executives in the admin building attending high class luncheons about future attractions and park expansion with info that must be kept under wraps, to games employees counting stuffed animals in a shed, to grounds crew workers and random kids cleaning parts in a wash bin for maintenance. Just cause your there in the off season doesn't mean anything.

Actually the ride program is in place to synch up with the "theming" and "storyline" of the audio. That ride program is the source of all the downtime. Its not in place to keep down wear and tear, its in place to go with the story line and is the source of most of the rides problems, including the problem which ruined the motors this past season, causing it to be closed the rest of the year.

pki.com changing to visitkingsisland.com?
King Maple The Tree King replied to PKIVortex's topic in Kings Island
they should get one of the photographers from this site to do it for them. -
Common misconception. The cadaver was actually being eaten by the nurse. Much of the stomach was torn out and that's where the nurse's head was, it wasn't what you were thinking...

Sorry but, HAHAHAHAHA! With how valid the Golden Tickets are nowadays, I'm really not sure you should admit that. It's embarressing. I just love the people that pat themselves on the back and claim to be "experts". Honestly though, why would you even say that? If you were that knowledgable of an expert, your expertise & knowledge would show through your posts, not because you are patting yourself on the back because you vote in a very tainted award. First of all, I'm astounded that most of you don't think a Golden Ticket as something found in a WONKA bar. I am really proud of you all for that. This forum is way more tainted than those awards will ever be. I was just trying to prove that I am not some 19 year old junkie who lives through a computer and does not know what they are talking about. I have been visiting the park for over 30 years, but SOMEONE would have had a problem with that too. HERE IS THE BEST PART OF MY POST AND I STRONGLY URGE EVERYONE TO TAKE IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. *****THE BEST THING I SAW AT THE Halloween Haunt WERE THE TOMBSTONES WITH KINZEL AND FALFAS ON THE FRONT THEM, BECAUSE THEY TEND TO KILL EVERY PARK THAT Cedar Fair TAKES OVER. FOR THIS ONE REASON, I'LL CONSIDER VOTING FOR KI FOR BEST HALLOWEEN EVENT NEXT YEAR. IT IS, BY FAR, THE BEST PROP I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.***** R.I.P. GEAUGA LAKE I'M THROUGH NOW. GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!!!! It's not really your fault, a lot of the people on here just can't accpet any criticism of the park or the almighty Cedar Fair. Who cares if this guy votes for amusent today, he obviously knows something about the industry and has something to do with it if hes actualy being given a ballot. I wouldn't really say hes showing off anymore than say Uncle Henry who feels the need to announce his "return" and "exodus" from KICentral cause he think's he's really that important around here. Well when the park advertised Fear Fest as included with park admission all year long, then wanted to charge for it what do you expect. "Ah, sorry ma'am, I know you drove all this way but we said Fearfest was included with park admission and your season pass, not Halloween Haunt". That would've gone over great at Guest Relations. If they wanted to charge for it at the last minute they would've had to really push to get the word out there about it, but they cant even put the mature audience warnings on the tv ads, radio ads, or billboards so promoting an upcharge probably would have been a problem, and in all honesty, i ask you: What is there to upcharge for? I'm a fan of haunt this year, i think the entertainment department did a good job, but its not much different from Fearfest last year. They added a very good show that pushes the limit a bit more but other than that and Club Blood theres nothing else that puts it anywhere close to what Knott's does or seperates it much from Fear Fest last year. I would pay to have shorter crowds, but seriously, based ont he event alone, not much different than FearFest.

KI Man's Guide to Halloween Haunt
King Maple The Tree King replied to Ki Man's topic in Trip Reports
In line with what hauntguy said, dont expect the park to be well staffed either. -
no sh*t sherlock... thats how they get them through the park so it dosnt ruin kids fantasy of them being real... if he was together..in a "body bag" hed be harder to get through... i speak from expeience(sp?) off to get into costume i go for HH Wow, I've seen people in the rides dept. say for less stupid things and lose their jobs the next time they came into work and into our office, im surprised you still have yours with how stupid you act on here, im sure the park appreciates someone openly representing themselves as an employee of a business they take good pride in, and you come on here and give the good employees a trashy name.

What CF will probably do...
King Maple The Tree King replied to DropZone99's topic in Coming Attractions
And just how do you know that? I wasn't aware they were sharing that information with ride associates now.
