Park Formerly known as KY KINGDOM 2014
westcoaster replied to westcoaster's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
My Plan to refurbish all the rides, by the 56 acres of land from the fair board, at a reasonable rate, or move out in jefferson county all the attractions buy about 150 acres, and try to build a successful park. Thats if I had a lot of money to pour into it. -
If Louisville is in the need for a park trust me I enjoyed the kingdom, why doesn't someone with deep pockets buy the park, well the problem is its never going to be theres leased land, and rides that are the state fair board. I don't know about holiday world doing all this to kill competition besides Mr. hart, it was sitting there rotting!

Interesting thread continues, lets hope for the best, Yes Ed hart never paid for what he put in but he did make a whale of a sale. I'm hoping for the best , For the 2nd Louisville park that would close if this does not work out. I don't see too many other operators that would even take this on. Fontaine Ferry Park was an amusement park in Louisville, Kentucky from 1905 to 1969. Located in Louisville's West End on 64 acres (260,000 m2), it offered over 50 rides and attractions, as well as a swimming pool, skating rink and theatre. The most popular attraction were its wooden roller coasters, of which 4 were built over the years.

So true, of a statement

We'll just not hold our breaths, but whatever and if the Koch's do reopen Bluegrass Boardwalk in 2014 or beyond it will be great!
-
Those articles are interesting for sure:
-
If the Kochs cannot get this completed could anyone I doubt it, they have built a empire in the middle of no where and want to bring the charm of HW to Louisville and Kentucky!
-
another ride would be great by flight deck a couple flats could not hurt in Action Zone. SCREAM ZONE would be a great name
-
It sounds as if the Fair Board has done nothing for the protection of buildings or the rides. Yes the Koch's should be concerned. Also the ferris wheel would be great and capacity is incredible to open when the park opens. The water stuff sounds bad with the pumps and such too. It seems the fair board should have done something with these rides.
