The next time I ride The Beast, I will make a wish.

Considering our climate and the close proximity of Great Wolf Lodge, I'd like to see animals native to our region (wolves, deer, bears, etc.) . Perhaps it could be a Pioneer theme, native American theme, or something of that nature. As much as I would like to see African animals (zebras, lions, elephants, etc.) and a safari, I'd take pity upon animals bred for warm weather being stuck in Mason during the freezing cold months.

Oil Today Closed at $101.01

Gas prices are bad enough that I decided not to go to cancel a job interview because the company is 21 miles away from home and I would rather find a job closer to home. 42 miles of driving a day with these gas prices would eat into my budget. Although I must admit, that I never actually applied for the job. The company found my resume at monster and called me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but usuaully for a GOOD job, don't they advertise? It seems that whenever a company contacts me and I never applied, it is always some type of sales job with a title like "Marketing". Any thoughts????? -
Last year I bought dinner for my wife, 3-year old son, and me at Cick-A-Filet at Kings Island and it was around $30. For fried fast food that would've been no more than $11 at the mall. Outrageous! I am very unhappy with the food and drink prices at Kings Island, especially since I was personally hit with the recession in January when I got laid off. I hope that CF will realize with the high cost of gas and the recession, these high prices are not a good idea. We won't eat anywhere in the park anymore but Wings Diner because it's an all-you-can-eat buffet and my son is free. If the prices keep the same, cooler sales and McDonald's in Mason should do well.

I wish that I could make it, but I'll be out of town this weekend.

Sandusky ranks top 50 destinations
italianchef replied to Lake54321's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
How can Mason not place? Kings Island? Great Wolf Lodge? The Beach Water Park? Alverta Green Museum? Lebanon Mason Montgomery Railroad? The Golf Center at Kings Island? Heck, Mason has plenty! And there are a plethora of nearby attractions in adjacent Lebanon and Valley Vineyards in Morrow. -
I don't see a reason to change the name of The Racer because it is not tied to Paramount. There is no reason for it. Besides, let us review our history. Both coasters on The Racer originally went forwards and one was changed to backwards YEARS later. Hence, if both coasters on The Racer go forwards, it is a retro change.

I believe that Interpreter is referring to the rumor that Star Trek: The Experience will close this year. It is listed in several sites, but I haven't found it on any hard news venues yet. Time will tell.

When does Coney Island start interviewing for 2008?
italianchef replied to italianchef's topic in Coney Island Central
I hope that this season Coney Island hires a certain recently laid off marketing strategist that I know. Rumor has it that he'd like to work at Coney Island this season and then resume his marketing career. We shall see. -
King Maple, Is it not obvious that Gene Rodenberry was drinking Romulan ale when he approved the script for Star Trek IV? But it least it provided a natural continuation to Star Trek III. What the Ferengi was Rodenberry thinking when he approvde Star Trek V: The Final Frontier? It was a pointless movie with little action. That is my opinion anyway. Live long and prosper.

According to Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Star Trek: First Contact, time travel IS possible. All you need is a star ship and Warp speed. Live long and prosper, Commander Italian Chef

Though it is not ancient history, I wrote a preview article about Fall-O-Ween 2006 for Cox Ohio and the link is still up! http://www.pulsejournal.com/search/content...familymain.html I attended the event with my family and had a great time. And we hope to return this year. Best regards, Italian Chef

I do think that a new theme or at least an upgrade of the current theme would benefit the ride experience.

Went to Sea World/ Anyone been to Wild Adventures?
italianchef replied to king_cobra_27's topic in Trip Reports
I have yet to visit a Sea World park and hope to make it someday. After reading your report, I desire even more to visit a Sea World. I'm sure that my family would enjoy it. -
I am VERY pleased with the new names and hope that Congo Falls will change to Amazon Falls.

What do you want to see happen to SFKK?
italianchef replied to a topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I like SFKK the way it is. But after last year's accident, I'd like to see more emphasis on ride safety. Additionally, I'd like a return of the Batman Stunt Show and better shows in general. -
Good catch! I watch reruns of The Banana Splits on Boomerang. I like the humorous skits of the Banana Splits, but am not too thrilled with the Arabian Knights and Three Musketeers cartoons and Danger Island live action series that are included in the shows. I find them all a little lame.

Oil Today Closed at $101.01
italianchef replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The outrageous price of oil is bad, very bad for our economy. And yes, it will influence Kings Island as well as everyone else in this recession. -
Those are beautiful pictures of Kings Island. I miss the park and was supposed to be adjacent to there today on a writing assignment. But the weather has postponed my article.

It's A Small World, Disney
italianchef replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Interesting article. Thanks for posting it. When I lived in Japan I visited Tokyo Disney. It was the first Disney park I ever visited. It was very much like California's Disneyland (which I visited 3 years later), except that all rides, shows, and attraction spoke in Japanese with the character's accents. Mickey and C3PO sound just like thier counterparts in the USA but they speak perfect nihongo. -
Thank you for advice. I postponed my plans for tomorrow. As much as I was going to have fun doing a story at a certain facility, I cannot risk my safety. Stay warm!

Speaking of Star Wars vs. Star Trek, I wonder how long Cedar Fair will hold on to Star Trek, The Experience in Vegas. I hope to visit it someday. However, I don't see why CF does not sell it. It would seem to me to not fit in with the other properties that CF operates.

Does anyone have any idea how bad the snow will be? I'm supposed to head near Kings Island tomorrow on business.

I'm really excited about seeing how different the park will look with certain attractions being re-themed. It ought to make the park look a little different.

By no means did I intentionally annoy Interpreter. I know that the coaster is called "The Racer" and apolgize to anyone, specifically Interpreter, who took umbrage. My comment was just a reaction to the screamscpae article that I read. Have a great day!
