    Racer

I never have to wait long for the forwards Racer. If both will be forwards, my wait will be even shorter. Hence, I would welcome both going forwards if it happens.
  2. Awesome trip report! I hope to someday visit this theme park.
  3. The Great Wolf Lodge and the Kings Island Resort and Conference Center are the only hotels that run a shuttle to Kings Island. http://www.greatwolflodge.com/Locations/Mason/ http://www.kingsislandresort.com/ The Great Wolf Lodge is the most awesome hotel in the Tri-State, but not cheap. Check out the rates. If you are looking for a bargain on Exit 25 - the same exit as Kings Island - try Best Western or Microtel. Best regards, Italian Chef
  4. Good article. I've been to California Adventure and thought it was just fine the way it was. But if Disney wants to make it better, power to them.
  5. Boomerang also shows Justice League Unlimited, the newer Batman Cartoon, and the Super Friends. Since getting laid off, I watch them all every night as I can sleep later until the next full-time job comes. Boomerang is my favorite station. Even my 3-year old son watches it - and more than he does Nickelodeon. He's learned to love Yogi Bear.
  6. Kings Island - because a president has to be elected every 4 years.
  7. Taken in that the light, the Hanna-Barbera characters do seem more realistic than the Nickelodeon characters. Talking animals such as Scooby Doo, Yogi Bear, and Magilla Gorilla seem more realistic than a talking sponge that lives under the sea and works as a fry cook. I mean seriously, how can anyone cook under the sea? Fire cannot exist in water. And another thing, how can a crab be the father of a whale? And H-B never had any creature as odd as Catdog.
  8. My guess is that if a new coaster were slated for 2008, we'd know about it by now. Then again, I could be wrong.
  9. I too prefer Hanna-Barbera characters to Nickelodeon. If it were up to me, Hanna-Barbera Land would still be there. And I'm happy to report that my 3 year old son watches Boomerang with me to see the old H-B characters. However, most of today's children watch Nickelodeon and are not too familiar with Hanna-Barbera, other than Scooby Doo. From the business point of view, it did make sense to replace H-B Land with Nickelodeon Universe. Today's kids want to see characters and themes that they are familiar with. It's simple marketing. Best regards, Italian Chef
  10. I wonder what will become of Wings Diner.
  11. Great catch! I like the article. It has great information.
  12. Due to legal reasons, I'd say that SDATHC is still part of International Street. Nickelodeon and Warner Bros. (which owns Scooby Doo and all other former Hanna-Barbera intellectual property) are very separate legal entities.
  13. Greetings, When does Coney Island start interviewing candidates for the 2008 season? Anyone know? Thanks, Italian Chef
  14. Sorry to tell you but the statues of Yogi Bear and Fred Flintstone that used to be over by HBL are now rubble. I would love to see something of old Kings Island in that area of the park. Come on Cedar Fair we all know you can do it. SERIOUSLY??? Those statues were demolished? How stupid. They could have been sold or donated. What a pity!

    Racer

Personally, I would welcome both Racers going forwards because I don't enjoy backwards that much. Call me old fashioned, but I like to see where I'm going.
  16. Thank you for sharing this link.
  17. No one is perfect. If I had a dollar for every mistake I made.....
  18. I'd like to thank you all, especially The Interpreter, for your support. A lay off isn't the end of the world. But it surely doesn't boost one's self-esteem or finances. I'm just lucky that my wife has always earned more than me and carries our health insurance. I'd say that she is the bread winner, but since she's Japanese and I'm Italian, I guess that makes her the rice and pasta winner. I hope that we can all hang out at Kings Island this upcoming season. Is there is KIC Day set yet? Best regards and thank you, Charles
  19. Greetings, I spent my birthday at CoCo Key Water Resort and the trip report is now online at Cincinnati Parent Magazine. It should be in the hard copy magazine next month. http://www.aakmagazine.com/Articles-i-2008...Experience.html Please note that I submitted this trip report the day before I got laid off (with a severance package) which is why the article says I am a marketing strategist. If you know of any marketing openings, even entry level, please let me know. Best regards, Italian Chef
  20. Wow! I had no idea Oktoberfest was so popular. Maybe KI should add some German menu items to Festhaus and return some long missed German atmosphere to the area.
  21. I'd say both. Boomerang Bay closed for the 2007 season (which ended) and hasn't opened up for the 2008 season yet. If you really feel the need to visit a water park, Great Wolf Lodge and CoCo Key Water Resort are open 365 days a year. I've been to both and love them both.
  22. Names are changing at Kings Island - and that is a good thing. I appreciate that Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad is just now, "Kings Island Railroad". I appreciate the simplicity. Should Oktoberfest go? The area is a shell of its former self? The only attraction remotely German is Oktoberfest, which serves American and Chinese food! Would it make sense for Oktoberfest to be absorbed by International Street and Action Zone? Scooby Doo was annexed by International Street. How about if Festhaus and Viking Fury go to International Street and everything else (including Adventure Express) gets annexed by Action Zone? Do you think that Oktoberfest should go? If so, how would you divy up the attractions? Best regards, Italian Chef
  23. I'm glad that names are changing. I wish that others would change, too.
  24. Wow! I hope that one of our people can ride this new coaster and do a trip report. I've always wanted to visit Germany, but have never gotten there. The closest I've been to there was the Germany Pavillion at Disney's Epcot. The food, music, and many of the staff were authentic German. Germans are great engineers, but the first roller coaster was created in Russia. That's another country I'd love to visit for its history. And I'm sure it has some pretty good roller coasters, too. Best regards, Italian Chef
