  1. Sling Shot is an awesome ride. I rode it only once, but loved every second of it - even though I screamed and screamed. Enjoy the ride!
  2. My thoughts and prayers are with the poor girl. I hope that she can be rehabilitated.
  3. Personally, I think that SOB should be dismantled and a large smooth, steel coaster build in its place.
  4. I've never been to Busch Gardens, but hope to go someday. Sorry about your luck.
  5. I don't think this will have any impact upon Kings Island.
  6. Did you take your minister from Ghana on Drop Zone? I bet that your minister would've prayed on that ride. Drop Zone is the only ride at Kings Island that freaks me out. I only rode it once. I prayed on the way up and was very frightened. Ironically, I had NO trouble with Sling Shot and Xtreme Skyflyer. But Drop Zone scares the holy you know what out of me. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  7. Being a freelance writer who always writes about FearFest, I get to go on Media Night anyway. But if that were not the case, I'd surely be willing to pay more money. It would mean fewer people, less lines, and more fun.
  8. I would just get the KI pass. My son is allergic to the chlorine used at BB.
  9. Hey folks, Kings Island won the Golden Ticket award with Hanna-Barbera Land before Nickelodeon Universe existed. Do you really think that they will lose the award if Snoopy replaces SpongeBob Squarepants? Also, does anyone honestly believe that children will NOT want to go to KI or any other park just because Nickelodeon is replaced by Peanuts? I don't expect my son to say, "No Daddy, don't take me to Kings Island because there's no more Nickelodeon. Let's go to the art museum instead." Since CF alreay has the Peanuts license, it is a sunk cost. To renew the Nickelodeon license would introduce a new layer of fees and reduce profits. Hence, I predict NU will not be at the park after the license expires. Best wishes, Italian Chef
  10. Both my wife and son prefer GWL to KI. Although I love GWL, I prefer KI for its coasters.
  11. I find the crews at The Beast tend to be a bit more enthusiastic than others.
  12. My guess is that CF is profit-driven and will drop Nickelodeon for Peanuts. We'll see.
  13. Not only do I remember that episode, but I have it on VHS. I need to purchase a DVD version of it. It was a cool episode.
  14. Cedar Point. No doubt about it. CP is the flagship park.
  15. The eatery formerly known as Huckleberry Dairy still sells Blueberry ice cream. According to the park map, the place is now called, "Ice Cream". I miss the signage and theming of the old place, but the ice cream tastes just as good.
  16. I vote tear the darn thing down, sell off the wood to fans, and build a steel, hyper-coaster in SOB's place.
  17. After asking my permission, Maureen gave my contact information to Ohio Magazine and they contacted me. It was all so cool. I feel very lucky.
  18. Ohio Magazine asked Maureen to refer a fan. Since I wrote The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island (Orange Frazer, 2003) and a bunch of articles about the park, they chose me. Pretty lucky. Have a great weekend! Charles
  19. Drop Zone is by far the scariest ride at Kings Island. It is the only one that I avoid. Once was more than enough for me.
  20. I voted for the loop. It's the most thrilling part of a steel coaster.
  21. Are drinks included in the Wings buffet? If not, does one get free refills? Thanks, Italian Chef
  22. Being the father of a 3-year old, I am very cautious. I'm pleased to tell you that I felt very secure on Firehawk. There are TWO sets of safety restraints. In my humble opinion, the ride wasn't scary at all, just fun and fast.
  23. Yes, Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad is very scenic. You take a charming ride past the trees, White Water Canyon, and a replica of an old Western village.

Greetings, Ohio Magazine is doing an article about a Kings Island fan. And I have the honor of being that fan. Tonight I went to Kings Island with the photographers. It was cool walking around the park with the photographers, their equipment and a park representative named Hillary, who is an outstanding professional. I was photographed in front of many places including Vortex, the top of the Eiffel Tower, and Firehawk. Best of all, it was my first time riding Firehawk! It was not scary - just fast and fun. Have a great weekend! Italian Chef
  25. Greetings, I heard that Gold Pass holders get meal discounts. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks, Italian Chef
