Wallenda to Break Record at Kings Island, And Other 4th of July Events
cstrwomann replied to Dane's topic in Kings Island
Does the rides close early due to fireworks? I know the last time I visited on the 4th of July it was really crowded and they closed the rides for fireworks. I want to go out there in July maybe I'll wait until after the 4th of July to go to the park. -
I am very surprised by this comment about ACE. ACE is a very good organization for enthusiasts who like to ride coasters and help to preserve coasters that are considered classics. I guess because GL isn't privately owned the owners can do whatever they want to do. ACE should have had a back up plan to raise money to preserve it somewhere else. ACE and GOCC can't buy coasters. The only way to have it saved is for the state to declare it a landmark and has it been done?? This is the question we have to ask ACE and CF? The cost to move the coaster would be very high I imagine at least $5-6 million. They are trying to make ACE look bad so if it doesn't sell at the auction they can tear it down.

Canada's Wonderland trip.
cstrwomann replied to Gordon Bombay's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
When I visited the park in 2005 I didn't need a passport. I think I just showed my driver's license and that was all. It's a beautiful park. I really liked it. Hope you enjoy your trip and ride on Behemoth. It looks like a good addition to the park. -
GREAT AMERICA (CA): What now?
cstrwomann replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
So what does all this mean? They are trying to put up a stadium for football where Great America sits now? What will happen to the rides since California owns the land? Why don't they just put the stadium somewhere else? It will interesting to see what happens considering GA just got TT from GL. -
10 Scariest Rides On The Planet
cstrwomann replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
There's nothing wrong with their list it's sort of biased I feel since most of them are on the East Coast. My Top Ten List for woodies and steel changes every year depending on how many new coasters I ride. Top 10 Wood: 1. The Beast-KI 2. Son of Beast-KI 3. The Voyage-Ind 4. Hades-Wisc. 5. The Legend-Ind. 6. Shivering Timbers-Mich. 7. The Boss-Miss. 8. The American Eagle-Ill. 9. Hercules/Twister-Pa 10. Wild Cat-Pa. I'm just saying that before they publish something they should have people vote for the rides. -
10 Scariest Rides On The Planet
cstrwomann replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Where did they get these results from? I'm a member of ACE and GOCC and these aren't my scariest rides. Wait for The Golden Ticket Awards to come out or ask some ACE people some of the scariest rides it all varies from person to person. -
I would like for KI to get a 4 D, B&M diving coaster, a hyper with tunnels, and a floorless coaster. But I think we will see a coaster like Maverick next year at KI. Judging by the track it looks pretty similar to Maverick.

Dorney Park Laser SOLD
cstrwomann replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I hate to see the classics go up for sale. I will miss Laser at the park it was a good ride. I hope it finds a good home somewhere else. -
ZOOMBEZI BAY construction photos!
cstrwomann replied to FOFirehawkFAN's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I haven't been there yet this year but I want to see it on my trip to KI this summer. It's glad to know that a ticket to Zoombezi includes the zoo/jungle jacks landing. This place has alot more to offer then other water parks in the area. -
I'm a little bit disappointed that The Racer is going to switched around to both trains going forward. I loved the backwards train because you can't see where you are going. Why are they doing this because of the G trains?? Insurance?? Cost??

I was hoping BMKF would go to KI but after seeing it in a picture on Geauga Lake Today I think KI will get Time Warp and the ferris wheel from GL.

GREAT AMERICA (CA): What now?
cstrwomann replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Volcano is a great inverted coaster and very nicely themed. It was one of my favorite rides at the KD. Is Top Gun at Carowinds and GA the same coaster? I liked Top Gun alot at Carowinds. Stealth is now at Carowinds as Borg. Is Grizzly a good woodie? It looks like a good one. Are there any tunnels? I hope they can compromise and find a way for both the stadium and amusement park to exist. -
There seems to be a problem with the website Theme Park Critic is it down for repairs or is the website cancelled? This is one of my favorite sites and I'm not able to log on.

I hope it comes to KI or CP. I will really miss riding this one alot. It was one my favorite rides at GL.

Where are the SOB getting Villian's trains threads?!
cstrwomann replied to tigellinus's topic in Rumors
Go on Geauga Lake Today website. They have pictures of signs up for a steel company by The Villian and it looks like they are starting to take it apart. Thunderhawk and Dominator are also on there also. -
Where are the SOB getting Villian's trains threads?!
cstrwomann replied to tigellinus's topic in Rumors
I would love to see KI get The Villian but I heard it was going to be scrapped. In the deconstruction thread on GLtoday they said we might loose 3 coasters. The Double Loop, The Villian, and The Raging Wolf Bobs. This would be terrible if this happened. We can only hope to save the best ones. The Villian was a great coaster to ride however it had a short life span if it's scrapped. -
Building Cedar Fair Brand Awareness
cstrwomann replied to Cory Butcher's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I was upset that they changed Fear Fest to Halloween Haunt and are making it an upcharge next year and not telling the GP/season pass holders how they are going to work it next year. I am upset that they dropped the Paramount license and are getting rid of the theming in the park. This is what made the parks different from other parks. -
Building Cedar Fair Brand Awareness
cstrwomann replied to Cory Butcher's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It is a conversation stater for the GP. The GP doesn't know who CF is. You could say they are a chain that owns several parks in the USA and mention where they are located and the names. -
MA OFFICIALLY gets [Thunderhawk]
cstrwomann replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I hope MA likes Thunderhawk. It was my first inverted coaster. I will miss it. I remember when it was being built as Serial Thriller. It was something to be excited about. -
Building Cedar Fair Brand Awareness
cstrwomann replied to Cory Butcher's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm still very upset with Cedar Fair for closing GL Amusement Park. I haven't bought a season pass yet for 2008. I will buy it this month before the end of the season. I probably will visit KI and CP so I'm going to buy the Platinum Pass. I think the jacket is a nice way to advertise the chain. I don't know if I will visit GLWWK yet? If they are still removing rides it will be to hard emotionally to go there. -
Charles Jacques, Jr. on Geauga Lake
cstrwomann replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I can't wait for it to come out. I want to buy a copy of it.
