  1. ^^Good to know, and thanks for the update!!
  2. ^^Ohhh....and here I thought the market wasn't over-saturated?!
  3. However, read the TR's from the first weekdays of operations from the past years...busy, rides down (Maverick went the first 4 days of the 08 season open about 4 hours), operational kinks, and some crappy weather. Last season I went on Wednesday, May 21st (for Maverick PP Night) and it was glorious....I actually got burned out of riding in the middle of the day, which is unheard of for me! Then Memorial Day weekend last year was good too. I think the overall main idea is the 2nd half of June through the 1st half of August is the busiest...it's not rocket science, and sometimes you have to take some gambles and connect dots.
  4. Where is Maui Sands??
  5. ^^The potshots never get old for me!!
  6. ^^Ok, that's what I thought. I ask because I hope Mr. Mefford can write an article for the newsletter about this park, especially since I have many questions!
  7. Is this the same thing as the Paramount park in Australia that's closed?
  8. ^^Well, considering my guess is they'll shut down the park for over-crowding by 3:00...if you're working until 4:00 you're likely screwed!! "Sorrryyyy..." (as the Moose likes to say! )

^^Yeah, thanks RR!! I mean, I don't want to come across anti-hands up since I'm not! But having your hands up just to have 'em up when there are goods reasons NOT to is silly...I mean, similarly to some other industries (like the NFL) it's all about extending longevity...you'll last a lot longer and be in better shape as a rider if you hold and brace when you should...if you're smart.
  10. ^^He brings up good points!! But photography can be tricky!!

^^Honestly...riding hands up in SOB's rose bowl is beyond comprehension for me!!

IMO...while I prefer hands up on everything, there are some things that are a MUCH better and smoother experience with the hands down!! Some example... Biggest-Maverick!! I only have my hand up for the first drop, after that, hands down the entire time...and thus, smooth riding for me! Magnum-hands down after the 2nd drop...again, violent, but NOT painful or uncomfortable ejector seat riding after that. Any Intamin rocket-hands down on launch...way more comfy, but of course it's hands up for the apex!! Finally, most woods coasters, especially SOB in the rose bowl, and El Toro's curving finale. For me, the smoother the coaster the better the experience. I'm all for crazy air and lat's, and will have hands up when appropriate, but likewise will have them down at the right times.
  13. ^^And we all know how that turns out sometimes!!
  14. ^^When are they putting the irises on the eyeballs?? Closer to opening?
  15. ^^Usually complainers have the most to say and are the most vocal...i.e. 'silent majority'...
  16. ^^What's the deal with Cinci people and the Smurfs?? I heard them referenced far too many times when I lived in Warren County!!
  17. ^^Well, what do you expect with all their darn Intamin restraints!?! You'd have to be a freakin' Abercrombie model to fit on any of those trains!! Tiggy, being only slightly sarcastic
  18. Haha, I agree!! After 25, birthdays are all down-hill from there! I don't know, we threw a pretty sweet Star Wars birthday party for my future brother-in-law for his 30th. As Terpy would agree, Star Wars enthusiasts are of a different sort!! There's A LOT that hasn't happened with most of them before 30 anyway!!
  19. It is good exercise though!!
  20. ^^Perfect sense!! Otherwise, the exit/enter for re-riders would be too tempting to avoid walking through and around the Maverick-esque Organ Trail of the gift shop exit! Edit: So really Old Joe told us nothing new.
  21. ^^Haha Just continue to let us enthusiasts wait for the "good seat" on Airbender!!
  22. Well, how do you ride the (formerly forward side) Racer then, or SOB, or heck, even Invertigo?! All rides people have told me they get headaches riding.
  23. Haha, I agree!! After 25, birthdays are all down-hill from there!
  24. ^^Other than getting yelled at, what would prevent a chap from exiting down that handicap entrance??
  25. Far less homeless people and an NFL team that matters to start!
