  1. ^^That is unfortunate news!! But funky things can happen at the end of the season, and I'll just wait to see what happens next year... Btw, another GAdv question...you'll be shocked to know I've never done the safari (hopefully next year!), but I remember hearing about a lot of GAdv fans being mad GAdv managment under Red Zone demolished these lion statues that were iconic with the opening of GAdv, and my question is, a.) didn't management have any appreciation for this historical park artifact, and b.) could anything have been done to save them and/or auction them off??
  2. ^^That'd be some neat timing, and nevermind that the track is still much higher above the train if you've seen it person... Back to regularly scheduled daydreaming that most serious posters have been wisely avoiding... (not to say that it's not good to dream, but nothing greatly special will be happening with the R-town midway, the special stuff is up in the sky with 200' supports, oh yeah, and the Swan Lake pathway re-opening!!)
  3. ^^IMO, the best Invertigo seat is the 2nd row, behind (obviously) the first row...
  4. ^^Cedar Fair didn't get coined 'Concrete' Fair for no reason!!! And nevermind that a legit first drop from a B&M hypercoaster *over the midway* is something very rare for a park!! It won't be boring.
  5. Who's to say that Clifford is moving anytime soon?? I mean, you need to stage the supports for the 2nd hill at some point... My guess, considering the lack of major erecting happening so far this week, next Monday they start erecting the first drop and then move to the 2nd hill. The Swan Lake area has also staged lift supports...I mean, anything is possible, but I still believe those specific supports will be for the 2nd hill.
  6. ^^Ummm....the 2nd hill, afterall, is almost as high as the first! 2nd hill, no doubt...support color means nuthin'.
  7. ^^But as it's been already proven...the support color scheme in the renderings has pretty much gone by the wayside... I'm with RR on 2nd hill.
  8. I haven't been to GAdv since July (sadly), but is it true that starting at the end of the season (and currently) the ropes in the entrance plaza were starting before the fountain?! If so, how does one procure their Flash Pass before rope drop?!? Actually...I think I may be answering my own question, but is it due to staffing? (or lack thereof)
  9. ^^Welp...again, maybe I'll also give that a try this weekend as well!?!
  10. ^^Cedar Point...Magic Mountain...Hersheypark...the list goes on, BUT I totally dig what you're saying, and similarly to The Beast, the location and layout are really two of the biggest ingredients in potentially making D-back truly prolific!!
  11. ^^Btw, I think he is tall enough for The Vortex OTSR's...how young do you think he is?!?
  12. First drop is post-closing weekend, allegedly...
  13. ^^Ok, thanks!! If it happens, it happens, but otherwise, I'd take a day of good fortune at CP with no ride breakdowns and small crowds over a RB. Besides, in the morning they only send out partial trains now anyway greatly minimizing RB's, and creating horrible capacity and a general waste of time trying to hit it first thing. As a funny juxtaposition, my non-enthusiast (but coaster loving) sister got a RB on her very first TTD ride ever on July 4th 2003!!
  14. ^^Finally a Texas trip!!! Although, all those US trips sound a little on the HOT side! I mean, both TX and "tha Dirrty" in July?! And then the West in August?! However, the Scandia trip sounds cool, especially with bonus trips to check out all the new Intamin rockets opening next year!!
  15. ^^Yikes!!! And this year (IMO) the belts have been the longest since they got shortened in 04!! (due to MF getting new ones pre-season)
  16. Great TR!! I'll be looking forward to the one's next year again! Looks like it would have been a really good day to go too!! (too bad I couldn't! ) I still think Blue train is smoother than Red, but maybe I'll try 'em out again next weekend. Also, last row in Flight Deck in by far the best...or at least most thrilling, anyway. Not liking Firehawk?? Or was it just the long wait? I guess if I went 50 times a season I wouldn't accept anything less than a walk-on either. But oh well, next season D-back will change everything! At Canada's Wonderland this season, Behemoth literally made everything else 2nd rate from the GP's perspective it seemed to me, which kind of was a little sad to see! Hoopefully that won't be KI next year.
  17. My ex-girlfriend back in...8th grade, I think? I was surprised when years later when I found the pic it was The Beastie!?! I thought it was from The Beast!! But I'll keep her identity protected...
  18. ^^I wonder how long they were up there for?? I believe that other time in 2005 it was close to a half-hour!! --Tiggy, still waiting for his first RB after 50+ rides...
  19. ^^But what about my angle question??
  20. Sweet pics!! And not to say that I am not, but you're confirming Rail Rider that all is good with the drop angle?? The black arrow in the pic below is basically 74 degrees.
  21. ^^Indy is what I'm talking about!! Cincy roads all seem to be Mason-Montgomery, Cincy-Dayton, Socialville-Forester, Loveland-Medeira, etc....my head starts to hurt after a while!! Indy keeps it simple with 96th, 82nd, 65nd, etc. (on the north side), and then all the Stop's on the south.
  22. ^^Did that one on 96th St. close??
  23. ^^It could be hearsay, but I heard that was done because part of the Blood's gang initiation was to change seats in the middle of the ride!?! So needless to say, the OTSR's put the end to that...
  24. ^^I vote for THAT being one of my fav Tampa restuarants!!
  25. ^^Excuse me....but what about Lee Roy Selmon's?!?!
