But how is this possible when, indeed, Maverick is the best ride at CP and hitting it in the morning is the best time?!?

^^You're in DAAP, right? Although, Behemoth finished a month behind schedule and D-back will be opening (hopefully!) a few weeks before Behemoth did. -
Hey, don't sweat it! I sort of actually see where you were coming from in the sense that the guy was probably way over exaggerating that he was on it when it broke and broke for good or something, and he had to slide down some inflatable slide like on a crashed airplane or something!!

Footers vs. Footings, anyone?! -
^^I've heard Mantis is a lot better in the last row, which surprisingly I've never tried before and will soon. But for B&M stand-up's for me, it's just too much g's on my legs...

^^As Terpy claimed, blame Japan using cheap steel!! Apparently, the later Togo stand-up's like the one's at KD and CW used better steel, and thus, part of the reason they're still standing!! (pun intended! ) It's a shame too since I like the Togo stand-up's better than the B&M's...way less forceful and more enjoyable IMHO (which is VERY humble and VERY much in the minority!)

Yup!!! Why does that sound uncommon?? AND how is that any different than a coaster getting stuck on the lift?

Attendence Numbers
tigellinus replied to UncleHenry's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
A former PKI employee told me KI "sell's out" at 30K people. People on PointBuzz were questioning CP being over 40K people on their busiest day (July 26th) of the season. A Great Adventure security person this summer told me GAdv's average Saturday attendance in the summer is 45K. In addition, GAdv is open many more days than either CP or KI. I have to go with Terpy on this one. -
^^Yes and yes!! Not only is the ride a lot smoother, but the dispatch times have improved as well. AND the re-marketing helped improve public perception of X has a dreadfully rough ride with putrid wait times. Granted I thought X was running fairly well last October, but by all accounts that was an aberration. Either way, I think SF missed the mark on S:ROS redux as other than shabby restraints, it wasn't rough and different suffer from X's other malities. In addition, the new El Toro U-bars will sky-rocket the 'walk of shame's' as those (with their sensitive computer sensors) are far less forgiving than the old ones IMO. I'm just praying for no stapling!!

^^The rumors of their season pass changes and reduction of free and discounted tickets were also NOT funny!! However, their Maxx/Platinum Passes (in addition to D-back) have more than made up for their blunders!! Oh yeah...Sunday, August 10, 2008 Drop Tower got stuck about 1/3'rd of the way up (with people on it) at about 5:00 pm and stayed like for 45 minutes during my entire Delirium queue, then they finally dropped them at that 1/3'rd height level and DT closed for about 2 hours, tested, then re-opened at about 8:30 pm when I left. I've actually seen DT get stuck almost every time I go to KI! tigellinus, running for the door!!

The article about KI's 2009 hypercoaster in First Drop magazine last fall. Maybe not a new webcam, but they will probably reposition the webcam so it shows a better view for where the lift is to be positioned. We can hope...but don't count on it!! They put up half a support on the lift after that blog, I find myself dissapointed in that field. But I am excited about what happened on the other side of the midway! I completely agree, but in all fairness, he didn't say when it would be finished!! But I think people (including myself!!) were hoping for a little more than a few supports and the bottom of the first drop after that Blog update. -
Kings Island's Newest Roller Coaster Nears Completion
tigellinus replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
I'm....sort of dumbfounded.... a.) The main point about that D-back article is just to get some PR out about it in the Commonwealth (granted, bad context and facts don't help the public's education of the ride...despite whatever the state-line signage might say! ) b.) People are idiots!! This shouldn't be a newsflash at all!! -The Tigellinus -
When that was filmed Steel Hawg had not opened yet.

I think there might have been a little confusion about the lift hill situation....but as others have pointed out, if the huge crane needed to complete that work needs to be in the middle of Rivertown's midway, AND doing such would create great damage to the midway (not that it won't get repaired), then that work will have to come after KI closes Nov. 2nd, sadly... As for the on-ride photo position....while I would love a splashdown pic, keep in mind the pic shot is very tight and likely wouldn't get much of the water affect anyway (which could also be printed on the on-ride photo card), but also keep in mind, unfortunately, parks are fairly lame and uncreative with most of their on-ride camera positions, opting for ease with placement, a safe spot for protection, and a "slow" part of the ride for better resolution pics (braked areas), but we can hope! Behemoth's on-ride photo spot (end of helix) was uninspired at best, and usually the left-side rider would be partially cut-off from the camera view... -

^^Well, not the 2nd hill, but we know what you mean!! Haha...well, a.) you'll be riding before you know it!! (Just think, a year since the announcement has already past!!), and b.) you can easily ride comparables this very weekend if you truly wanted to in Toronto, New Jersey, Montreal, Atlanta, Williamsburg, etc. (that Chicago one certainly doesn't count!! ) -

7th grade!? Wow a little younger than I thought!! But you're pretty wise for your age, although, sadly you're still aways from your Driver's License and unlimited KI trips!! -
Good TR and good to hear you had a great time!! It sounds like you're really becoming a drop ride nut too!! (one day, for me, I hope....) Although the wait times seemed a little all over the place (even pre-Haunt), it appeared it wasn't too busy, which is good to hear since maybe it'll stay like that for at least another weekend when I go!! Btw, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but you've been on SOB post-loop, and on the blue train, AND in the front seat (the smoothest possible location), right??

^^Dang...it's still early too!! This should be an exiting week for sure! Btw, Beast, what grade are you in in high school? I'm assuming you're in high school, right?? As someone now in their mid-20's, I've totally lost my perspective in guessing what grades people are in!! But I think you're either a freshman or sophomore, right? Also, thanks for the great PTR's (with D-back updates!), and your continued monitoring and analysis of the construction! If there's any KIC poster who deserves a Media Day invite (or guest of such), it's definitely you!! -
I guess I got the answer to my question....not nearly the sunny day at KI like it was in Indianapolis on Saturday! (and today too!)
