I'm from Harrison, Ohio. I live about a block away from Indiana. I'll admit I loved working at Kings Island. If you are willing to make the drive to PKI go for it. It's an awesome work environment. PS. I may sound a little biased here but if you apply for rides, go for The Beast. That was definitly my favorite ride to work.

Yeah, I live about 40 minutes away and I was carpooling with some friends, but they have since quit working at PKI. Needless to say it was getting a little bit expensive to drive the 40 minutes on a $6.75/hour wage.

I don't know much about merchandising as ive never worked in that dept. but my first year i started out in ride opps at $6.50 just like every other new hire. My second season i only got a .25 cent pay increase. when i started working there i was only 16 and since i have a late birthday i was only 17 my second season.

I know when i began my second season, summer 2006, I didn't get the returners amount of $7.00. I only assumed that was because Winterfest tanked.

PKI pays this in some of the higher up jobs but the rides associates make considerably less.

Yea I read this over a Coasterbuzz yesterday and now going back to Kings Island to work is not looking like a good option for me.

I also was going to say very early 90s. Didn't the clock by Tiques have the date on it every day? Or am I thinking of a different floral display. I say it's like everybody else said...early 90s.

Maureen mentioned something about "providing a more comfortable experience for guests". As most of us took it she was refering to the retracking, but could she be refering to a reworking of the trains, or even new trains for SoB. Thats a bit of a long shot, imo, but we can all dream can't we?

Is there any way some one around Kings Island could get some pics of this "cleared land"? If I remember right there wouldn't be much to clear anyway. The field next to FoF is already pretty big.

What is the cheapest you've heard Fearfest tickets advertised for? and where are they selling them? Thanks for any help.

I don't know but at this point I can say I would be happy with large list o things CF is going to update for next season.

What do you think will become of the Paramount Story area. Will the movie items stay were they are? Will CF trash all of the movie items and make the area a park setting? What is your take on this topic?

I think that Topple Tower would fit perfectly in the Paramount Story area.

With this Maxx Pass, it'll give me a great reason to drive the four hours or so from Cincinnati to Sandusky. I love my Gold Pass but have never had a chance to actually go to any of the other parks.

I have ridden both Medusa @ Great Adventure and Kraken @ Sea World. Yea I liked them when I rode them but then I rode Sheikra just this June and loved it. My favorite coaster changes all the time. You may like the floorless but I like the dive machine.

I'm not tryin to ruffle any feathers here, but imo floorless coasters are just not all they are cracked up to be. It just didn't do it for me. To be honest I wasnt lookin at my feet the entire time I was watchin what was comin up next. I voted for the dive machine because I rode Sheikra at Busch Gardens Tampa and it was imo the best steel coaster I have every ridden. Just my honest opinion. -Ty
