You are very welcome! I had only worked White Water Canyon once or twice before I moved to the ride. Learning information like i've quoted above definitely made the job interesting.

During the season, in the morning when it is time to start up White Water Canyon it takes approximately 5 minutes for the water to make its way all the way around the trough. White Water Canyon has 4 pumps that move the water from the bottom of the lift to the top at the station. At any given time, only 3 pumps run. Each pump pushes about 10,000 gallons of water per minute up and out of the valves and with 3 pumps running during operation, you are looking at 30,000 gallons per minute. With it taking about 5 minutes for the water to first make its way around in the morning you are looking at about, at minimum, 150,000 gallons of water in the trough at any given time.

The primer coat already makes the track look great. Good to see one of the last of its kind in the US getting some care.

^ Honestly the walking wasn't that bad, great exercise lol. But standing out there in the heat of the summer can be brutal. I ended up with a great tan.. .. .. farmers tan that is.

From experience, being in Controls at White Water Canyon is by far one of the most demanding spots in the park, especially when it comes to down time. In a downtime situation, the boats do not stop in brakes like a coaster would. Instead, the boats are free to float in the water, most often in one of 2 areas (bottom of the lift and by the tower where the employees can drench you). Hardest ride to operate?? Probably not, but it is by far extremely demanding when there are all 22 boats in the trough.

Just wanted to point out really quick that there is now a link on the .com site directing visitors to the real .org site. Also, on the Geauga Lake Discussion over at Theme Park Review (<--- Link) there is an apology of sorts in the very first post of the page. -

I understand the .com is only supposed to be a joke, but seriously, creating an alter ego, Prince Desmond, is beyond a waste of time and resources. I love watching the video and reading the Trip Reports on TPR but the recent attitude toward Savethebigdipper.org has saddened me. Why waste the $10 on a fake website domain when that money could have been donated to the real project? I don't understand making fun of the subject they claim to love so dearly. -
I very much enjoyed the surprise in the woods at Beast. It was Awesome. I also liked the memorial items between the exit and entrance ramps.

I find it slightly amusing that Club Blood (Vampires) is going to be very near to this new Haunt. That being said, Werewolf Canyon at CP always intrigued me, so hopefully Wolf Pack turns out great.

Exactly as WhataBeast said, the only time you will see a separator at The Beast is when their crew has extra people. Also, not every person there assigns seats, they pulse the station with people as to keep the station open especially on the hot days. You all know it becomes extremely hot and stuffy around the gates when we are all packed in there like sardines.

Just for future reference Cormaster, a full queue at Beast (with a decent crew operating) is designed to hold approximately 75 minutes worth of people. If the sign said 90 minutes and some of the queues were empty it means a guest has been playing with the sign. Glad you had a good time at the park.

Wow Selective, I'm sorry but did you really just say The Beast was "extended"??? The Beast has been 7,359ft long since the day it premiered to the media on April 13th, 1979. No portion of track has ever been removed or added to extend the length of the track. As for Flight Deck, yeah it's a short ride, but it's fun. I think its perfectly fine the way it is.

Hey KI Man how is that even fair?!?! Paul wasn't even working today

Trip Report - Kings Island - Sunday, May 9th
tycoonrebel7188 replied to selective's topic in Trip Reports
I really appreciate that he found The Beast Crew to be doing their jobs well, and I'm sure the other crew you complemented are proud too. May I suggest making a stop at Guest Services on your way out of the park on your next visit? The crews love getting complemented and the park loves to hear that its employees are doing a great job. -
Trip Report - Kings Island - Sunday, May 9th

The mention of Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular as of right now is the first thing you see when you bring up Kings Island's homepage. Also, I tried looking for the Starlight Spectacular in the Shows section too, but it is not list in that section. Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular is, at the moment, listed on the Upcoming Events page. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/visit/events/index.cfm?id=187 On a side note in regards to your experience at Firehawk, asking the people in the station for single riders is time consuming and can often lead to longer load times. That 20 seconds spent yelling to the crowd trying to find a single rider could instead be spent checking restraints, in the end allowing the train to dispatch much quicker. -
Shaggy, you are completely right about how Beast keeps capacity. That button is still used to deduct the number of empty seats. On a side note for everyone else, Beast's computer system automatically adds 1 train and 36 riders to the hourly count every time a train crests the top of the first lift hill. By pressing the Empty Seat Counter button on the side of the panel, it subtracts the number of empty seats from the 36 that were automatically added to the count.

Cheetah Hunt

The square area does seem a bit odd, but I could see it being an interactive area, or animal exhibit, much like that in the Queue of Manta. -
The person on the right is none other than Don Helbig. The person on the left, according to the Info under the photo on Facebook, is Nikki Stoller-Funderburg. Presumably she works with Don.

Construction Underway on Kings Island Drive
tycoonrebel7188 replied to Thane Of Price Hill's topic in Kings Island
CoastersRZ, they are repaving a good amount of the exit road. I would take a guess and say that they are repaving a good 100-150 yards worth of road. That is 100 -150 yards up the exit road from Kings Island Drive. -
I can say from experience that on a hot day with a full train, said train will shoot up the second lift pretty far.

I do have to ask Adam, why was it important that there was a need to "one-up" Cory by saying you've known for 2 months as compared to his 1 week? Thank you for sharing that info about Dani, but I feel your comment was a little uncalled for, but I digress. I wish Dani the best with any future endeavors, as it's always a shame to lose a great PR person. ie. Maureen.
