I also stopped by Great Wolf to take a look at the progress on the new slide. I didn't see any ground work going on but pieces of the new slide were on site.

So it would seem. I also glimpsed what looked to be Odd Coasters station wrapped in plastic, much like the Swings in the picture on the Kings Island Insider Blog.

I had to go up near KI today for an interview so I took my camera. Sorry for the blur, I had to zoom in all the way and my camera doesnt have that great of zoom.

The rendering of the slide on their site makes it look pretty awesome! I thought Tasmanian Typhoon in Boomerang Bay was fun, just too short. This thing looks like a blast.

That being said, how early was the '09 map released last year? The Kings Island version of the Planet Snoopy site is not the only one with the '09 map. I highly doubt SoB's uncertain future is the only reason the '10 map has yet to be released.

coaster_junky, I see what you're saying about the False advertisement, as no company wants to be accused of that, but how exactly does SoB showing up on the '09 map prove that "they are clearly going to try to have it open for the '10 season"?

^ as it has already been pointed out many times, the map on the Planet Snoopy website is from '09. It is not from 2010, so it there for gives us no clues about the future of Son of Beast.

^ I agree, Drop Tower isn't the worst name in the world, and I honestly don't think Boo Blasters is that bad of a name either. Now if all the park ends up doing is ripping out the Scooby Characters and trowing up a Boo Blasters sign out front, I'll be slightly upset.

I believe they are having a swing-a-long with the Backyardigans under there, or maybe even a pow-wow with the Peanuts! It's good that we are finally seeing a sign of progress out of Planet Snoopy. Can't wait to see more!

^I thought that myself Coasters, when I saw the bright orange. and it is most certainly not red. I hope we see pictures like this of our own Planet Snoopy.

What exactly looks red to you Beast?? Their Reptar or Intimidator in the background of one of the photos?

^ That's a very interesting find, goodyellowcorn. It will be very neat if KI actually implements that page. I think it could be used very easily as the site to showcase the rides in our Planet Snoopy. The 10 Snoopy busts at the bottom of every page could be used a links to each individual ride, or even separate the rides by height restriction.

I just checked out the Carowinds webcam and their Reptar does look white. I just can't determine whether or not it is actually a white paint, or if it is just sunlight reflecting off the track.

^ Sounds like Universal hasn't taken a queue from KI and our Ferris Wheel in a box know as Crypt. But in the Picture Cory is refering to, I think simply planting a few tall tress would sufficiently cover up the Castle and the ride show building. I never quite understood why KI had never planted a few more trees around Crypt to cover the box.

Well I'm happy we are starting to see some of the transition to Snoopy, seeing as we've seen no pictures of construction thus far.

My family and I went to Mammoth Caves probably 10 years ago, and I remember going into the gift store and seeing the word "Kentucky" hanging crooked on the wall. ^If you are talking about the Construction across the top side of 275, yes it is finished. Construction finished up a few weeks after the season ended!

footballfreak and I are 28.8 miles from Kings Island. At least according to Coasterfanatics.

HTCO, I live about a block and a half out of Indiana. About 20 minutes from Perfect North. Take a look at the picture in Post #1. The area around Southeastern Indiana and Perfect North, as of 10am, had only slightly more than in that picture.

I have to agree with dare-to-fly! If some of you would have seen some of the views he and I have, you would think The Beast is the Best Looking Coaster at Kings Island.
