Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
Has anyone else noticed from the posted pictures here and at kiDiamondback.com that there are several spots where the paint has already flaked off from the track? It doesn't look like your typical wear marks from the wheels either, they are big flakes like the paint didn't adhere properly. I can't seem to find the pictures where it shows detail of the flaking but the picture below above both supports shows what appears to be missing paint.

I would have to agree since water appears to be coming in from three spots. The pseduo stream on the right, the bottom of the lake close to the station, and a water truck. However, I wonder why they are doing this since there is still sub 32 degree weather forecast.

Yeah I hope they do something like that. Either paint it blue or dye the water so you can't see the concrete.

Are they testing now? Earlier I saw them move the train on the transfer track but now because of the glare from the sun I can't tell if the train is in storage. It definately isn't in the station now.

What do you all think they are doing with the splash down lake today? Looks like they have atleast one water truck spraying water into it. I would post a picture but can't figure out how.

Also, if i'm seeing things correctly there are not seat belts. Do you think it will stay that way? If so loading times on these trains should be lightning fast.

KD Opening Day pics
I am not saying taking POV video is appropriate and I am definately not saying The Interpreter is wrong but if loose article are an issue why were ride ops making people take their loose articles on Vortex and SOB last year?

Season Pass Question
I'm getting ready to head up to Maryland and was thinking about picking up my VIP season pass at Kings Dominion since they are open while I'm there. If I purchase the Platinum pass at Kings Dominion will I get VIP benefits at other Cedar Fair parks? Specifically, will I be able to get into Cedar Point 1 hour early? The page on Kings Dominion's site mentions VIP status only at Kings Dominion.

SFKK Season Pass Processing
Hi Everyone, I think I mentioned in another post that Six Flags season passes can be bought for $36 at Louisville, KY AAA locations. Additionally, I spoke with Frank Doninger, an operations manager for SFKK today and he told me the season pass office will be open Saturdays and Sundays in April beginning April 5th through April 27th. Hours of operation on these days are 11:00am - 5:00pm. This is great for those that want to buy a pass and go to another SF park before the SFKK opening day on May 10th.

SFKK: Girl Injured in Accident
I've been slowly adding pictures of the demolition to a picture gallery. It looks like they are removing the last piece today. http://www.dotphoto.com/go.asp?l=neo8820&a...8600&Pres=Y

Both sides of Racer going forward
I apologize if someone has already suggested this but I haven't had time to read through all the pages of comments.... Does anyone think this could be a cost savings change? For example, on slow days they could operate just one side or close one side completely permenately. Sorry if I seem bitter but my home park SFKK has made me that way

Screamscape is reporting that both sides of The Racer will be running forwards this year. Has anyone else heard this from any other source besides Screamscape? http://www.screamscape.com/html/kings_island.htm

Well, I picked up season passes yesterday for $35...that seems cheaper than past years.
