Yeah I heard the other announcements being played while we were leaving. Do those play automatically when the ride is shut down/turned on or is it an extra step they have to do manually? You can hear the message play once before the train comes into the building on the video I posted.

I had such a great time on Saturday. The Flight of Fear tour was more than I imagined. Does anyone know if the "Power is on, please clear the ride" message plays before every launch or just (ghasp) when the power gets turned on? Oh, I posted a video that I took during the train run on youtube.

Wow, I didn't mean to make everything think they were removing the theming for good. I was just wanting to know if anyone knew what part of the ride that theming was from. I have read that most of the theming is on wheels so they can roll it out when they need to work on the ride. However, I didn't notice any wheels on this piece.

I agree, it would be awesome to see some of the parts for the rides. Do they have a centralized parts warehouse somewhere on site or is it spread all over? I noticed lots of parts in the FOF bowl.

I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable day, except for the heat but you can't do anything about that. The only thing that would have made it more enjoyable is to have someone explain what we were seeing on some of the back stage tours. In other words on the FOF tour it would have been cool to have someone explain how FOF worked, any insight into the daily ops of the ride etc. On The Beast tour it might have been neat to have someone from maintenance explain how the inspect the ride every day what they look for how the ride automation works etc. I know most of us know the answers to these questions but it's always nice to hear stories from the people that work on the rides.

Did KI ever release what part was replaced on their Gyro Drop? -

That's a little unnecessary don't you think? -

I too had a very good experience with Six Flags guest relations. Earlier in the year after they redesigned their site it appeared that children under 42" couldn't ride any of the kiddie rides. I sent an e-mail via their website and heard back from the general manager @ SFKK within a few days. It was nice talking to him and we went back in forth via e-mail a few times with some of my suggestions/compliments etc. He was great to talk to and gave me some good insight into their plan over the next few years. Who would have thought a few years back that there would be people who enjoyed Six Flags customer service more than Cedar Fair? -
I was down at Carowinds early in the year and purchased the DVD for Top Gun. It looks like there is much more video of you riding on the FOF dvd and less filler than there was on the Top Gun video. It looks great! I love your daughter's?? expression at the end of the ride.

If it is a dvd you'll need to find a program to convert the dvd to a mpg or other compressed file.

Glad you made the reference to Paris I'm also glad they didn't screw with the ride by shining a visible light in your eyes.

Yeah, I was wondering that myself because if they were gonna do it sometime this season they need to start fitting the trains with the cameras. They can redo the area where you pick them up whenever but with only a certain amount of trains to use which they need everyday, it's a little harder to take a train off the track to work on. How many trains do they have at FoF? I'm pretty sure they run three but do they have an extra one so they could put cameras in one while the other 3 run? Or are they already there and I'm totally oblivious? I was there on 7/31. We got the on-ride video. It is really cool...a little bit of filler footage mixed in with real footage on you riding. They put it on a dvd along with a snapshot of you riding for 20 bucks. A little pricey, but not as bad as 50 bucks for 4 burger fries and Cokes!!! LOL Some people were afraid the cameras would shine light in your face. Does it do that or are the lights infrared? If so does the video have a green tint like you see on some of the night vision cameras?

Thanks for the excellent TR. I plan on going there at the end of August and I'm looking forward to it even more now!

Little coaster? Sue them!
neo8820 replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I think this is a sign of a true roller coaster junkie. I myself am overweight and I have been encouraged to lose weight because I was starting to have a hard time fitting in roller coasters. I'm happy to say that this year I am having no trouble at all fitting and it is great! Last year two ride ops had to staple me into Flight of Fear. This year I sat down and got buckled in without any trouble. -

6F Reports Second Quarter Results
neo8820 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm embarrased I forgot about that considering SFKK is my home park. If I remember correctly they are all in the outdoor theater so the theory of escaping the weather doesn't really hold true. -

Huh? So at SFKK where they have no shows what would they replace? Perhaps Superman Tower of Power -
I guess I just don't get the point unless they are trying to **** customers off. I don't really see it as a capacity issue because how long does it take to put something in a bin. Lets say it did slow down each dispatch by 20 or 30 seconds. As a guest I would much rather wait a few extra minutes in line so that I could put my stuff in a bin as opposed to paying for a locker. In my opinion not only is it a safety issue to bring loose articles on the ride with you but it also hampers the ride experience. You can't let yourself go wild with your arms up if you are constaly worrying about your bag flying out of the train. As for SOB not having any negative Gs many people have reported an increase in air time. What do you think causes air time At Holiday World ride ops walk the queues collecting loose articles and place them in bins before you get on. This is the best of both worlds b/c you dont' have loose articles on the ride and you don't slow the operation of your ride down.

I foresee a big lawsuit should that happen
