I thought Knott's looked even better before CF threw their weight around >< (IE Silver Bullet)
-
It was great! I thought Nick Universe looked cheap in comparison >< I still have the VHS tapes I used to watch during the offseasons waiting for CP open again so I could see the Bears again back then those bears were the closest thing to playmates for me
-
I remember that Mean Streak... liked it, to the point I was sad when I first read about Son of Beast gonna take the glory away
-
Yes it does.. Whole team is better now. 3 1/2 seasons I did under Paramount and 3 1/2 in CF.. I like the team better now
-
I tried my best! Bust my tail bone keeping my area clean Honestly.. I prefer Cedar Fair to Paramount.
-
I don't think CP had a smooth transition from the Bears to Peanuts... I thought it was kind of rough, the old Bear Country area never was the same. Unless you meant Cedar Fair in general
-
Was I with you? I loved the pitch black rides.. it was just. I don't have any words to describe. FOF is among my faves, beats out DB for me too.
-
I kind of agree with goodyellowkorn182. I remember a much rougher Beast the first time I rode it in 1995, I actually chose to never ride it again till '01 >< I think now it seems tamed, probably cause of riding Son of Beast and few other woodies >.>

Been to CP (obviously), KI, Carowinds, Canadas Wonderland, Worlds of Fun, Valleyfair (long time ago..) and Knotts. um I pick CP due to sentimental value even if its not the same CP anymore.. and then Knotts.
-
I think it be neat for KI... we have Cedar Point's 125 Anniversary book thing http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=5654379&l=b605eb12ed&id=505303695 We have a second older copy of it as well recovered from grandmas house

lol true but not always true. I heard the original Shimmy Shimmy ko-ko Bop there XD Its frighting ... the song came out in the late 50s - early 60s and yet I knew it right off No me no want to do no ko-ko bop.
-
I bout died when I heard Shimmy Shimmy ko-ko bop by Little Anthony and the Imperials in Planet Snoopy over the weekend. Been stuck in my head since.
-
It was a lot of fun. I love Planet Snoopy... lol. It actually exceeded my expectations honestly.

So I decided to return to KI today. This time, my mom insisted she wanted to join. By the time we arrived to the park at nearly 9:30am this morning, she basically cut me loose to do my own thing. I found and met up with Adam (pkiboy)at Diamondback for ERT. In some ways.... we never left the ride for almost an entire half hour. One thing I notice bout Diamondback.. I ALWAYS get wet when sitting in the last cars. Every. Single. Time. ... Anyone else get wet everytime? (without reaching behind the seat with your hand in the water ) We heard the tail end of the Star Spangled banner and knew the school kids were gonna be running towards Dback, but seeing as the station was still for the most empty... we squeezed one last ride before we went off to The Beast. I am not the type of person that will holler about trim breaks and such on coasters, only one coaster comes to mind where I think some are somewhat unneeded and thats Mean Streak's drop of doom. But The Beast? I feel like ending been dulled down a little bit as your thundering back towards the station. How's Crypt? I purposely been keeping my distance from it >< After Beast we went to Boo Blasters.. my first time on it since the change. I actually found it fun Adam beat my guts with the points, I literally spent most of the ride looking round rather than participating. I would like to see this ride well kept.. :\ I think after Boo Blasters we went towards Action Zone, did we Adam? nevermind yeah we did. We headed straight to Flight Deck, noticed on our way to FD people kept referring to Son of Beast as "Beast" =___= I understand to keep from confusing the people about SOB, but I think there is more confusion that way. 9____6 Flight Deck, I do get defensive for Short, sweet and straight to the point, is it not? After we left Flight Deck, we were joined by another enthusiast, don't remember his name But the 3 of us were off to Adventure Express.. my first ride of the season. I LOVE the lava bowl, aha. I don't think I ever seen it work like that before, although I never ridden AE till about 1995 anyway. I think we went on Vortex after that.. my head hurts. Thanks Vortex. ...back to Diamondback. That had to have been the most shakiest ride I ever had on Dback >< Good grief that rattling. After that go round on Dback I told Adam I had to meet up with my mom for lunch, so we went our separate ways. After his departure me and mom had lunch, checked out Snoopy Boutique, and went on Boo Blasters, BLSC, and Congo falls. haha, she got more wet than I did, cause I leaned forward XP Didn't take as many pictures as I normally would have, but there were some. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=225206&id=505303695&l=36474e32fa They begin at page 5 (:

faeriewench replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I remember Hardees off the causeway at Cedar Point. Me, my brother and grandparents had breakfast with the Berenstein Bears numerous times http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=489254&l=4968f488e6&id=505303695 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=489260&l=1e56f1430b&id=505303695 I think it was turned into Coasters a few years later -
I may give it a try on Friday.. I heard about the 3-D classes costing a buck? .__.

Watch Hardees? There isn't one within 300 miles from me anymore >< Ignore me -
Thank you very much Taking pictures of even the smallest thing is just as much fun as riding a coaster (if not more at times for me) teehee.
-
Thanks. Yeah, lots of memories. Both grandma and grandpa LOVED Cedar Point, they always said they had more stuff to do there than KI as far as the shows and rides went. But I know both of them would at least love the improvements of shows put back to the park..

As most know I still dealing with family issues as a result of my grandmothers passing and cleaning out her house. Still feel like I lost my mother I constantly felt impulses I'm pretty sure were from her and grandpa telling me to go have fun at KI rather than just sitting in the house.. So I did. Had fun. Got morning rides on Diamondback and The Beast. When I got on Beast, I realized I am loosing weight, which I am excited for. I met up with Wilma, a long employee at the park and great friend who has looked out for me since I was a rookie employee. We traveled the park together, helping each other with pictures. Kind of nice to have someone to take a pic of you when you need it.. Ok I'll stop boring you. http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs568.snc3/31030_439080718695_505303695_5571597_1488245_n.jpg Planet Snoopy (formally Nick Universe byebye Spongebob!! ) http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs528.ash1/31030_439080733695_505303695_5571598_8059327_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-sjc1/hs528.snc3/30000_439090933695_505303695_5571705_500064_n.jpg http://hphotos-sjc1.fbcdn.net/hs588.snc3/31030_439093503695_505303695_5571740_6523695_n.jpg http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs528.snc3/30000_439103003695_505303695_5571880_976495_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs508.ash1/30000_439111743695_505303695_5571966_1252951_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs508.ash1/30000_439113453695_505303695_5572020_2542450_n.jpg (dont Snoopy look like hes looking at the tower? Thanks for the info Robbie. I love how on the back of the Shooting Star postcard goes on saying basically yon won't find anything finer, taller and smoother Heres another, this is the one I had posted here on KIC back in 06 I believe, but the link is outdated so I rescanned it for those who weren't around on the boards at the time http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/6704/swscan00034.jpg

By now everyone knows the passing of my grandmother 2 weeks ago. I was looking through hers and grandpa's Cedar Point things and came across a few old postcards from Coney Island. I remember posting a postcard of theirs a couple years ago here on KIC which gave a good shot of the cable cars. Heres one of the Shooting Star http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/6430/picturets.jpg Another midway shot http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/6465/picture357.jpg I assume that wooden coaster in the distance is Shooting Star? More to come soon..
