  1. Major rides and attraction as well as all Haunt attractions are open on Fridays. Nickelodeon Universe and Howl-o-Fest do NOT operate on Fridays. Order tickets online here.
  2. Knievel Day was hands down the best day I'd ever spent at the park. I also remember about having a heard attack when Wallenda was immediately over me on the 4th. Or doing a phone interview with Joyce Becker from Joyce Becker's Soap Opera Festival and she told me about one of the actors saying, "He's so adorable! You'd love him, he speaks Australian!" Overall I can say that this was certainly one of the most fun seasons I've ever had there.
  3. As many of you know, Kings Island's Diamondback will change the landscape of Rivertown. As part of that, the 230' steel monster will intrude on someone else's space... a Beast's space. That's right, part of Diamondback's track will be in the vacinity of where The Beast entrance is now so it will be gone after the park closes on November 2nd. Of course, this means that The Beast will have an ALL NEW entrance area for 2009. So make sure you bring your cameras the next few weekends and get shots of The Beast's entrance queue before the season ends because next time you see it, it will be changed... forever!!
  4. Howl-O-Fest is certainly something to see. If you haven't check it out yet, definitely do so. Do it this weekend!
  5. Latest from the desk of Don Helbig: Just a little tidbit from under the black hat. Season pass holders will be the FIRST to have the opportunity to experience the 230' steel monster.... but more on that later.
  6. And I agree with that....I'm not saying people can't post critcism....but Constructive criticism does a whole lot more than people just bashing and going "that sucked", or "that wasn't scary". There is a difference between Bashing/whining and being constructive...thats what I'm trying to get at. I agree, plus Club Blood is still immensely popular... even though it's no longer in its inaugural year. Clearly something's done right.
  7. I'd be shocked if it weren't Meanstreak retracking. Remember they showed a hole in the ground and said it would be new for 2008 and it turned out to be a new shed. Tony and Tyler aren't afraid to mess with you.
  8. Cash on hand would only be on paper. They're billions in debt. They can't refinance. This is going to hurt. To answer the question stated above, the stock is unlikely to go down to $0.00. Even in cases of bankruptcy the stock has some value. Enron, for example, is worth a few tenths of a penny right now. Having the stock have an exact zero dollar value is unlikely but it can get pretty close. Now there are plenty of other factors that could make you loose your stock. It's happened with the airline industry.
  9. They could always do a 3:1 reverse split if it became necessary.
  10. Howl-O-Fest and Halloween Haunt are both free with park admission, so if you purchase a ticket on Saturday, you are welcome to enjoy both events. Fridays the park is only open from 7pm to 1am for Haunt and Sundays the park is open 11am to 7pm with Howl-O-Fest running 12pm-5pm.
  11. Definitely check out the show. I think you'll be overall impressed with it.
  12. Some of Club Blood's things are in Urgent Scare now.
  13. That song played right after Automatic's 'Monster' is 'Knights of Cydonia' by Muse, I believe. I know I heard it being played last year. And for the second question...Welcome to My Nightmare by Alice Cooper, right? At least, I think it's better than the original. EDIT: Check out Knott's Berry Farm's take on Club Blood: ^ Holy freakin crapola, that's killer. Welcome to My Nightmare by Alice Cooper is the song that the show begins and ends on. I agree that their version is better than the original, Cooper's version is very soft and cryptic and theirs is very pumped up.
  14. It certainly is a family location... except for Haunt, in which they do more than enough to warn people that it's for mature audiences. However they do have a family-friendly daytime Halloweeen celebration.
  15. Definitely see it again! Sometimes it's hard to really judge something when it was over hyped, under hyped, or you simply didn't know what to expect. I think for the second straight year, Dead Awakening is the cornerstone of Haunt. I went through Urgent Scare on the media preview night and was underwhelmed by it. However I've heard from a ton of credible people that the maze wasn't quite finished that night and they've added a lot to the experience. After the first weekend, there has been nothing short of stellar feedback on that maze. If you did it the first weekend, definitely check it out again!
  16. It's great to see that such a talented performer is getting recognized in his home state... Click Here to read the article.
  17. Another installment in the Diamondback construction saga courtesy of Don Helbig. More in the KICentral Photo Gallery.
  18. None of those photos were shot in Nickelodeon Universe. In Nick, I saw Nick characters walking around.
  19. They have an excellent set of flying scooters at that establishment.
  20. I think Massacre Manor's the best one this year... honestly.
  21. It's finally October which means that the days are getting shorter, the nights are getting longer... and it's Halloween time at Kings Island! Halloween Haunt has made its return to Kings Island and is bigger and badder than ever. One of the most anticipated haunts at Kings Island is the all new Urgent Scare, which is a 3,666sq ft maze themed to a small town which is infected with a virus that seems to be taking over the peoples' minds. The only way you can get out alive is to drink your Magnum energy drink and make your way through the town's hospital... a hospital that no one would ever want to visit! For more information about Halloween Haunt, click here. If you want to bring your kids to the park for some family-friend Halloween fun, make sure to check out the all new Howl-O-Fest! Howl-O-Fest is an amazing new Halloween celebration that is custom tailored to the kids. Don't worry -- there may be monsters at Howl-O-Fest, but they're not scary... they just want to join in on the fun! Howl-O-Fest is held on Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 5pm in the picnic grove near Nickelodeon Universe. It's FREE with park admission. Click here to see photos and for more information about Howl-O-Fest! Standing 230' tall, Diamondback is going to be a hit among enthusiasts at Kings Island when it debuts in April of 2009! This steel monster will feature 10 vertical drops and an amazing new open air stadium seating system for the trains that makes everyone feel like they're in the front row! 22. Howl-O-Fest at Kings Island is its new family-friend daytime Halloween celebration which complements Halloween Haunt. Kings Island certainly went all out for this one. Nick-Or-Treat, the former kids Halloween event was too big for its britches so the Halloween celebration was moved next door to Kings Island 8 time award winning kids' area, Nickelodeon Universe, to the picnic grove for an all new experience. One thing that you'll notice is how parking has improved greatly since the big move. The kids LOVED playing in the foam! At the dance party, everyone seemed to find someone to pair up with! You can have a friendly conversation with the talking pumpkin head. Howl-O-Fest features many free games for the kids. Feel free to wear you favorite Halloween costume to Howl-O-Fest, but if you forgot you can always have you face painted. Enter the hay bale maze! This maze is made for the kids, but don't be fooled -- it's easy to get lost in there so good thing that Kings Island put some employees in there to help the kids make their way out. One of the most popular attractions is the pumpkin patch where the kids can pick their own pumpkin and decorate it. Who can argue with free candy at the candy stops? The biggest new attraction is Twisted Tales, a spooky maze for kids that is centered around some of their favorite fairy tales. Don't worry, these characters are friendly and some even have candy! ...and of course, the dish ran away with the spoon. Howl-o-Fest his held Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 5pm through November 2nd. It's included FREE with park admission and is FREE to season pass holders. Discount tickets can be purchased at VisitKingsIsland.com, and more information about Howl-O-Fest can be found by clicking here. More photos can be seen in the KICentral Photo Gallery.
