  1. If you want chain-wide numbers look at the press releases in their SEC filings. If you want park-by-park basis... good luck.
  2. Sorry, I just have a deep hatred of people who demand that the world 'the' be put in front of titles which do not have the word 'the' in front of them. If I remember correctly, DB is to be located where Swan Lake once lied... on normal ground level. Even the context is messed up. Why talk about the first piece of track being installed when you have a photo right there of dozens of pieces already installed?
  3. You may not see some of the bigger supports go up before the season ends. Some of them may be intended for the midway, which I imagine they wouldn't start with people there.
  4. LoL... if 15 or 20% is near completion?
  5. Maybe they'll give her a job...?
  6. Downhill of that smaller vertical got a new piece of track. Looks like the crane has moved on too.
  7. They almost certainly would, except that they don't recommend the night portion of Halloween Haunt for kids. Having a kid's pricing point for the Fright Feast meal would probably encourage families to come. This is the second year my wife and I have taken our kids to HH, they love it, and we as a family look forward to it. My kids know it's not real and HH is just for fun. Has KI looked around after 7pm and taken count of the number of kids under 12 that goto HH? We have only had one problem with HH this year; A male character in the new hospital yelled at us "why did we bring our kids and to leave the attraction!" Bodda; Please don't take this wrong; but what's wrong with encouraging families to come and do something together? I see that as one big problem in our society; families have lost the time to be together; For my family, HH is quality time having some fun... Nah, you're absolutely right. It would just be a contradiction to say that Haunt isn't recommended for children under 13 (which is the park's words, not KIC's) and then offer a discount for young children. The fact that you're kids are mature enough to be able to tell that Haunt is just for fun is great, but that's something we can't say about a lot of small kids. I was behind a family who took their 9 year old through a maze on Friday and the kid was in tears by the end. I think it's really cool that your kids enjoy it, and it's really cool that your kids like the shows. I see the little one at 80s.... every time.
  8. What happens after the Nick License expires isn't even something that's discussed in the board meetings yet. When the time comes, they'll do whatever makes sense which may be a return of HB, renewal of Nick, creating their own characters, or a laundry list of other possibilities.
  9. I upgraded from a Gold Pass to a Maxx Pass last year without a problem at KI.
  10. The latest from Don Helbig: More in the KICentral Photo Gallery
  11. Yeah, the web cam's been fickle today. If you just let it sit it'll load eventually.
  12. Looks like they've installed another piece.
  13. Don asked me to inform you that he appreciates the props you're giving him, but he said thanks goes out to Jennifer, Marissa, Stephanie, Lisa, Derrick, Matt, Scott, Katie, Nikki, Sharon and the entertainment department for making the events of this year possible.

  15. Crest of the 2nd hill is being installed. And the bottom of the hill..
  16. The only one I can think of that's guaranteed to close in the rain is the Trail of Terror.
  17. Karen -- you never told us what you thought of Ghouls Gone Wild.
  18. Thanks, but yeah as he said, believe it or not, everything was still not set up this weekend we are normally supposed to have 70+ ppl, and were working with maybe 50. AND yes the Magnum thing is true, but again the video is not finished. Well, what we wanted to have. Still don't know if we'll have something up for next weekend yet or not. If you listened to the EMT's and the lady at the front, you could figure it out real quick But i appreciate the thing abuot the front part being good Trust me, thats one of the hardest places to be The video? Will it be playing on the TVs outside of the FX?
  19. I've said very little about my thoughts of Haunt. I may hated it for all you know. But at least I experience things before I make comments on them. You go on here and bash everything KI does without ever going to the park to see them for yourself because, 20 years later, you're still disgruntled that you got canned from your little food services job when Paramount took over.
  20. Massacre Manor was an absolute hidden gem. It has been for years. Urgent Scare isn't bad... but it's also not particularly good. It's really long, innovate, and well-themed. It's missing something and it's hard to put your finger on it. I think most people picked up on the fact that Magnum was the source of the virus, but it was never specifically stated in the maze. It would have been quite a revelation to the normal park-goer which, to the unsuspecting eye, would have thought that Magnum was some sort of sponsor. It also lacked an ending. You just kind of make your way out of the hospital and then see more broken down cars. I'd say give it another chance. We've seen the first two days of the first time this maze has ever been done. It's an incredible undertaking to do a maze of this size with dozens and dozens of employees. By next weekend it should be a lot better. People have put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into the maze and I'm sure they'll do anything they can to make it great.
  21. The name was intended to be a funny play on "Girls Gone Wild." It served its purpose.
  22. Maybe after the season's over we could have "what was your fondest memory of 2009?" thread. That'd be really appropriate. It was done on purpose. Although it was excellently executed, it wasn't the same type of event in my book. You could also argue that the JDRF walk and several others should be up there, but I thought the main stream publicity stunts were more appropriate. I was told by the 'powers that be' that I was to be ready for a big announcement within the hour. Naturally my first thought was also that they'd announce the 2009 Rivertown project. Boy was a surprised. One of the biggest downfalls of doing what I do is the fact that I get my hands on information, piece by piece, and never really have any surprised. I tell you what, this shocked me incredibly. After the press release went up and the broadtext went out, I almost didn't feel safe in the same room as my Blackberry as it was absolutely exploding with calls, emails and texts.
  23. I'm a little shocked at your preception of some of the Haunt stuff. I thought Cemetery Drive was a vast improvement over last year and that Massacre Manor really look the cake again.
  24. Talent in the show was great. They assembled a cast from Kings Island shows over the past several years. The show itself is a lot more tame in comparison to Dead Awakening but still fun in the spirit of Halloween. It had pyros. What more could you ask?
  25. If you been to Haunt, what's your favorite maze?
