  1. I think Holiday World is really 'all hat and no cattle' with how friendly they apparently are. They certainly tote their Golden Tickets, but I don't see anyone there going out of the way to help guests. No more than any other park.
  2. Allow me to correct myself. US Bank Arena had nothing to do with yesterday's world record kickline attempt. It was organized by Gameday Communications for publicity to the Rockettes' show at US Bank Arena in December.
  3. This event was conducted by US Bank Arena and the Rockettes. It was the marketing rep from USBA that changed the time and location, which is why people were getting conflicting information about the kick line. No one from Kings Island dropped the ball on this.
  4. Helbig's job is to bring you the news... not dance in kick lines.

  6. For those of you unable to attend...
  7. ^ I couldn't agree with you more. AE is a guaranteed good time. If I wanted a thrilling experience, I'd ride Drop Zone or something...

  9. That would be really neat if someone had that kind of time on their hands.
  10. The photos were taken under the observation of a park official, but after they were posted some members of the entertainment department were concerned that they simply revealed too much of the maze. I can testify that they're working extremely hard on what will be an amazing, gory and thrilling experience and they want to keep exactly what's behind the curtain under wraps... at least for another week.
  11. Probably International Street near the restrooms and ATM, not near Scooby.

  15. Just to clarify, when we give you these little singlet photos, usually the park sends them to us... along with every other media outlets. Same goes for the Hay Bail Maze photos that are in the HOWL-O-FEST thread. You may see those on the news or in newspapers. Looks like they're constructing the bottom of the hill:
  16. No, he's talking about the frames per second. Almost every SLR has a buffer now that allows you to take several shots in succession before it locks up while putting the photos onto the memory card. I think with the D40 it's about 12. As far as FPS go, the D40 does between 2.5 and 3fps, depending on who you ask, the Canons (more expensive) do about 3.5fps and if you want to cross into the $1000+ range, you start getting into the 5fps or more range.

  18. Yep, typically the further away from Halloween, the better. Plus Fridays are typically less crowded than Saturdays.
  19. That'd be a question for a ride op to answer.
  20. I carry it with me most of the time. Sometimes I purchase a locker if I don't feel like carrying it around. I take it on most rides and bundle it up in its case and put it on the floor board of the train. I haven't had a problem doing that so far. The only ride in which I almost always leave it in the station is The Vortex.
  21. I think you're reading way too much into that statement. Will Kings Island ever get another B&M? We'll just have to see how well Diamondback works out.
  22. With the ride barely constructed, I imagine that now would be as good a time as any to be able to make modifications of that type. I'm not saying it's going to happen but anything's possible. The animation portrayed a chain lift, so I'd say that's more than likely the case.
  23. I've heard stories of both a chain lift and a Millie-style cable lift for this ride. Of course, that's something that wouldn't absolutely need to be decided right now. I'd like to see a cable lift for this ride.
  24. When I first heard the rumors about Urgent Scare in the FX Theatre, I kind of thought the same thing. I was a bit disappointed that it only covered the floors and the exit... then I went in there for myself. Without any props, it takes about two minutes to traverse through the rooms. With the show going on, I've heard estimates of 20 minutes... plus your experience will begin long before you enter the hospital...
  25. Just to kill the rumor before it gets out of hand and we take the focus off of what we should be talking about -- the amazing new kids' event -- I was asked to assure you that the characters from the Nickelodeon franchise will be in Nickelodeon Universe and will make their amazing return in 2009. There will be kid-friendly Halloween props around Kings Island's award winning kids' area but HOWL-O-WEEN will primarily be located in the picnic grove.
