  1. Once the Dent Schoolhouse draws 30,000 people in one night, we'll talk.
  2. You were talking about me right there about the claiming to be in this stuff, weren't you? Thanks for making me wanna work Haunt again because I enjoy it. Not necessarily you personally, but anyone who would be familiar enough with the mazes to know what's changed and what hasn't. You have to realize that the average person probably only goes through 3 or 4 of the mazes per year.
  3. True -- and sometimes it works out well... sometimes it doesn't. Red Beard's Revenge was a cowboy theme then a pirate theme... basically the same thing just with different costumes. However the Work Site improve by leaps and bounds over the years.
  4. You know, The Vortex has been the same for over 20 years, The Beast for almost 30 years, The Racer for 36... and they're adding Diamondback next year... just because a ride isn't new to you doesn't mean it's not new to someone else... same goes for mazes. They'll add one or two every year, maybe even remove a maze or two, but they're not going to completely revamp each and every maze every year just so those who claim to be into this stuff can have something to talk about. HH will progress... it has progressed... but it takes time.
  5. As detailed in the press release issued today, HH is free to all 2008 season passholders. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...t=0&start=0 I regret any inconvenience the earlier information may have caused you. I hope it didn't.....wait for it.....scare you. I read that and thought you were wrong but didn't want to say anything until I knew for sure. HH was marketed at the beginning of the season as being "free to Gold Pass holders" but clearly the confusion that actually doing that would be terrible on both the guests and the park.
  6. Actually, your apprehensions will be allayed. Corn Stalkers will be moved to Action Zone and will be bigger and better than ever. Additionally, the ENTIRE Coney Mall section of the park will be transformed into Coney Maul, a gigantic scare zone with a carnival theme. As Shman said, back in past years, they'd simply have the same attractions every year and rename them. This year they're keeping some of the same attractions and making them bigger and better. I'd take that over the previous.
  7. That's last year's information. Notice how Urgent Scare and Ghouls Gone Wild aren't listed. Additionally it mentions that there are no Dead Awakening shows during Bare Bones Nights, which was accurate for last year. Also don't forget that the park likes to under-promise and over-deliver. Kind of like how there were more rides open for Bare Bones Nights than advertised last year.
  8. It's possible, but I assure you that Urgent Scare is an original creation brought to you by some of the same sick minds that brought you the Halloween Haunt augmentations from last year.
  9. Almost all of the rides are open during the day. The only exception is that some water rides are closed for the season and the Scrambler is typically sent to rehab early.
  10. You're probably right. I've always wondered if KI enthusiasts would last as long as they do if the park was open year round. This way it's almost like a whole new product when it opens in April, so it's something to look forward to. Additionally, one could say that the park keeps some of its magic by being closed to the public primarily during the times when it's converting to Haunt or building a new attraction.
  11. The whole team up there is working very hard to bring you the best Halloween Haunt to date. Of course, once the dark forces have been enchanted back into the pits of hell (which by my estimation will be sometime around November 2nd) you'll see a shift back to preparation and anticipation for the 2009 season.
  12. Parents, be advised: Halloween Haunt includes graphic scenes, suggestive themes and intense imagery and is intended for mature audiences; not recommended for children. No one and nothing is off limits! In just a matter of weeks darkness will fall over Kings Island and the creatures of the night will make their return for the biggest Halloween Haunt ever! Now loaded with 13 terrifying haunted attractions, no other haunted attraction in the Midwest can match the amount of blood, guts and gore brought to you by Kings Island! The new attraction that will have everyone screaming is the new 3,666sq ft haunted maze called Urgent Scare. Guests will be transformed into 'patients' at this hospital-gone-mad as they traverse through rooms full of doctors and nurses who have been infected with a virus that is spreading through your small town causing a deadly plague. Urgent Scare will be located in the right side of the FX Theater. The theater was converted through Kings Island's mastery of innovation from a 3D motion theater to a walk through haunted maze. In addition to the return of the wildly popular Dead Awakening, Kings Island will be adding a new show in the Festhaus called Ghouls Gone Wild! This monster dinner party has YOU on the menu! You can stay as long as you'd like... in fact, you can stay FOREVER! 13. Word from under the black hat is that Urgent Scare may be more original and innovative than this press release even comes close to portraying. You'll see.
  14. You have to realize that there is a whole PR department at Cedar Point, but there's only one PR guy at Kings Island which is severely limiting in Don's ability to do fun things like the blog that he'd really like to do.
  15. Halloween Haunt to set new standard for horror Kings Island makes its largest Halloween new product investment for Haunt 2008 Kings Island, Ohio – The bloodcurdling horror, mind-bending terror and madness of Halloween Haunt at Kings Island had everyone dying to get in during its debut season last year. This year Kings Island is making Halloween Haunt even bigger, better and more intense than before by making its largest Halloween new product investment including an all-new, 3,666 square-foot maze, Urgent Scare. Themed as the kind of hospital you never want to visit, Urgent Scare will be the area’s most anticipated new haunted attraction and is twice the size of Club Blood, last year’s popular new maze. In Urgent Scare, “patients” will make their way through various rooms experiencing doctors and nurses, all who have been infected with a virus that has broken out in a small town causing a deadly plague. Also new is Ghouls Gone Wild, a monster dinner party with you on the menu! Come into the Festhaus for a bite. The ghouls will let you stay for as long as you’d like. In fact, you can stay forever! 19. With cafe' press, we can upload one image and have it available on t-shirts, buttons, etc.
  20. Well, the t-shirt idea is a no brainer. Consider that done. I'm still open for other suggestions, whether it involves a podcast or a video-based show or not.
  21. Let's get back on topic please ladies and gents.
  22. I'll admit, a pin is something that I never thought would be suggested. I think it's a little much to wear a pin to Kings Island every day. What about the t-shirt idea? We used to sell them through cafe press. We always mark stuff on there down as low as possible. If you wore the KIC T-shirt, at least others would know that you're on here and you could converse.
  23. In order to keep KICentral.com fresh and continue to bring you the best coverage on the web, we are always devising different innovations to better serve our community. Some ideas that have been tossed around are a Podcast, a video show, and a newsletter. If you like the idea of a Podcast, how often do you think it should be? Do you think it should cover news and rumors from the forums or just cover info released from the park? Who do you think should be on this podcast? A video show is an innovation that's certainly feasible. Is this idea appealing? What suggestions would you have for a show? How regular should it be? We had a KIC Newsletter a long time ago but ended up having to delete it to recover room for a database before the day and age when the possibilities were endless. Would this be something that's of interest to you? Any further ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  24. I've never heard of a private event running all night. Typically it's a 10-8 or 10-10 day.
  25. Organizations like P&G, GE, etc rent out the park for their employees. It's not open to the GP or to pass holders.
