  1. When we post a front page article AND a press release, I think that's a pretty good indicator of the source. By the way, I think I recall posting that you'd be particularly happy with the show lineup this year.

  3. Kind of a funny debate I got into with a group of friends. Which do you think is the most likely to happen first?
  4. In a final act of de-Paramountization, the ACE Block, saluting the American Coaster Enthusiasts has been removed from International Street. Several rumors have been circulating about the remnants of the stone, but nothing has been confirmed at the moment. The question on everyone's mine of course is, will the ACE stone be replace with a new non-Paramount ACE stone? The answer is no.
  5. If his screen name is true, this guy has ALL the answers.
  6. Something looks very familiar about that program.
  7. Do you still have that Demps Project site you were working on when you disappeared?
  8. Some information from under the black hat: Kings Island will be offering a new service to help keep the kiddies and their parents united. In 2008, Kings Island will offer a program called Kid Track. Parents with small children can visit guest relations (a new and IMPROVED guest relations) upon entering the park, and each child can receive a temporary bracelet with a parent or guardian's cell phone number imprinted on it. Therefore, if a child is lost, Kings Island's security will be able to call the parents and reunite them with their little 'uns. The path from the Tower to The Beast may be a longer road than you're used to in 2008. Who would want to go to the Amazon when the Congo is still such a great adventure! I still don't see how something so sweet can peacefully exist right next to an Italian food place. If you're On Location with your Stunt Crew eating Ice Cream in the Zone, those places maybe easier to identify than other things this year. I can't wait to listen to some good old fashion American music while eating Chinese food in a German building on opening day. In 2008, Line Jumping will still not be a sport at Kings Island. Boy, I hope those vests don't take up a lot of room with the 42" and under-s.
  9. Every day is a little bit warmer and every day is a little bit brighter and every day brings us one day closer to opening day! Is that not enough? Don was nice enough to send us some images of the Fairly Odd Coaster making its first test rounds to be ready for the 2008 season! Enjoy http://www.KICentral.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=214
  10. Joined PKIG in 2003, then PKIU later that year, then 'P'KIC in late 03 and became staff a few weeks into it existence. Dane keeps trying to fire me, but I'm tenured.
  11. Very very nice! Glad to see your contribution is growing so well.
  12. They removed the helipad from the X-Base over a year ago. I'd recommend landing in Boomerang Bay since it doesn't open until late May.
  13. Since your brought it up, if you respond to the texts, I get an email with your response. Kind of pointless, but if you really want to do it, knock yourself out.
  14. Word to the wise: Get there early! I remember last year when they did a semi-late opening and the weather was nice, the line to get into the parking lot backed up to Western Row! I think I'm going to get there at like 9:00 on the 20th.
  15. These are very similar to what we've seen from the trip reports for KD and Carowinds, but I guess we can officially come into the acceptance that Paramount is gone now.
  16. From Screamscape: News - (3/25/08) I’m not sure now true this is, but from what one reader tells us The Racer’s trains will be labeled as “Racer North” and “Racer South” for the 2008 season.
  17. He's probably right. Maybe misleading, but right. As of last Saturday, work had NOT been done on the backwards Racer to turn it forward. Therefore, if the park opened today, it'd be frontwards and backwards. Not to say it'll be that way by opening day, but it is what it is now.
  18. Heyyo... Don was kind enough to send me some photos of The Racer, having had some track work done. Check 'em out: http://www.KICentral.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=214
  19. I can honestly say that I did not know that. Thanks for the post.
  20. Thanks for the update! Make sure you give us a heads up and let us know if we should be out there with our cameras shooting at any point.
  21. I can officially confirm that Bubba Gump's Shrimp Shack will be Outer Hanks for the 2008 season and beyond. Confirmed by Kings Island's PR dept.
  22. Check out the photo gallery again. I was sent a rather interesting photo of the Backlot Stunt Coaster's trains being prepared to be reloaded onto the track. http://www.KICentral.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=214
  23. For those of you who got the texts: Do you think the use of it was appropriate? By the way, the people on the text lists were, and will continue to be the FIRST to get the latest KIC news and information. Things like that will become more and more important in the coming weeks and months, if you know what I mean. Sign up today!
