Church Buys Former "Surf Cincinati" Site
BoddaH1994 replied to Airromeo4Ever's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Sounds like Sister Mary's Chapel meets the Great Wolf Lodge. -
I am NOT an insider on this one, but from what I've heard, they're just doing work on the ride. Themeing being removed is a typical thing because they need to be able to get equipment in there. All of the themeing is on wheels and can be removed very quickly and easily.

A TR by an outsider to KI's Manager But On The Web
BoddaH1994 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Trip Reports
Wait a minute.... There's a key element that's left out. What was in his email to Greg? Did the email call Greg every word in the book? Did he threated to kidnap his kids and kill his pets? Who knows. All we saw was Greg's response, which may very well have been the most professional of the two emails. What if it's the other way around? What if the guy was really nice about things and just asked why the rides were down? In that case, he would have responded with more information than he had to. What if he never asked for any kind of compensation? Talking to a former employee who dealt with the power outage situation, they said that most people would vent anger about what happened and then would be pretty happy. -
What's the proprietary iMovie format then? Sorry -- I'm a little stressed out for some obvious reasons.

Teen Says KI Police Pepper Sprayed Him When He Tried To Leave

That's why you don't mess with the police... They guy the guns... in this case, the spray. -
All of your questions can be answered in this thread. Get crackin' on those 401Ks people! Ryan

Paul, you know me.. it's in my nature to worry about the stupid stuff. My new fear is that people won't have their meal tickets and I won't be able to give them lanyards. That's why I've posted about ten million times that you NEED a meal ticket to go to the event. Oh well, we'll see what happens. I'm about to head up to the park right now to pick up the lanyards.
-
Yeah, the actual finalized numbers are kind of in the air since some people were able to order tickets after the cutoff date. So if I had to pin a number on it, I'd say about 115 tickets were sold. This is really good considering that SOME people at Kings Island estimated between 40 and 50 patrons. We sold 40 tickets in the first two days....

You're right -- but it's time to close this one. The question has been answered, and it's just a matter of time until someone firebombs a city. har har Closing...

I don't think the quality was that bad at all. I really enjoyed looking at them. Thanks for sharing.

Discounted tickets and comp tickets are probably gone forever, per Cedar Fair's pricing integrity policy.

Was that not the shortest conference call you've ever heard? Usually it's best to pack a lunch and bring sleeping bags.

Oh, Lord... where do we start.... I'm sure you know how conservative I am from pervious posts, but here's my take: I guess it's one of those things where you couldn't really understand it unless you were gay. Being straight, I find it hard to believe that someone could be born gay. But hey -- I'm not living that lifestyle, so I really don't know for myself. I suppose it's kind of like a white person acting like they know what it's like to be discriminated against for their race. It's like, I'm sure they know what discrimation is, and can somehow imagine how it feels, but couldn't ever actually know what it's really like. Same goes for this -- who are us straight people to tell gay people why they're gay? It's funny -- it seems as though gay people primarily just want to be left alone. You're the one who seems to be trying to push your beleifs onto them? Do they rally? Sure, but so do all religions, political groups, even sports fans. The Constitution of the United States guarentees the right of peaceful assembly under the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights. So.... you're saying that a guy who came to Earth to die for our sins, washed the feet of his apostles, ate with prostitutes, and passed on a message of love, compassion, empathy, and good will is going to darn you to hell for your orientation. Oh, but you, who preaches a message of hate, will certainly go to Heaven. I'd go ahead and crack open that New Testament again -- I think you missed a little bit of it when you read the Cliff's Notes. Oh, did he now? I'm pretty sure that there are a million people who will say that, but that was never in the Bible. Oh, and don't give me that Sodom and Gomorrah crap, that was NOT the intention of that story. You're going to have it, so I figure I'll leave the thread until someone violates TOS, then we'll get ride of it. Agreed? In conclusion, I say... screw it, we're all different.

Move One Ride from Anywhere in the Country to KI

I agree with the previous poster -- forget coasters, I want the Flying Eagles back! -
No, I would have publicized it as the date got closer. Check the history. I list it every year. <G> Money goes to good causes. 'Pride Night' is a unique situation as far as "promoting" it on the site. Typically we don't allow private events to be promoted on the site because it turns into either confusion, or a "you're not invited to my party" situation. However, (and correct me if I'm wrong) anyone can attend Pride Night so long as they purchase tickets through several Cincinnati GBLT groups. So as a result of that, anyone who would be interested in that event can technically go.

CEDAR FAIR IN TALKS OVER $4.1 BILLION TAKEOVER
BoddaH1994 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
Here is the denial as reported by KICentral's corperate affialte, Cox Ohio Publishing: Cedar Point owner denies it's talking sale SANDUSKY, Ohio — The owner of the Cedar Point and Kings Island amusement parks is denying a report that the company is in talks toward a possible sale. On its Web site, the New York Post today is reporting that Sandusky-based Cedar Fair is negotiating with investment firm Destiny Capital Solutions about a proposed $4.1 billion buyout. In a statement, Cedar Fair C-E-O Dick Kinzel says his company is not currently discussing a sale with Destiny or any other party. But he acknowledges that Cedar Fair's board has instructed management to look for ways to boost value to shareholders. Cedar Fair's Ohio properties also include Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom. -
Ha... I see what happened. The Cincinnati Steam are a minor league baseball team, the Queen City Steam are a Jr 'B' hockey team.
