That's probably your punishment for being a Mac user. haha I'd call group sales and just order over the phone. If this is your first event it'll probably be one of the best times you'll ever have at a park. My first event like this was Beastbuzz 04 and I still remember every second of it to this day. Dane, Josh and I worked hard to try to squeeze in every possible perk we could that day. I really think you'll get to see and learn about things that will really blow you away. I'd really encourage you and everybody else to do as many things as possible. Even the things that may not seem so appealing to you, like the Q&A with the cast of Endless Summer, really is a unique opportunity. In fact, I thought the whole idea of the sign shop tour was lame until I did it myself. Also, has anyone RSVPed for more than one person at a time? I got a small laundry list of members who have RSVPed, but there's only one name per list and I find it a little hard to believe that not one person RSVPed for more than one. If you RSVPed for more than one, please drop me a PM and let me know. Here are some things that you will get a special kick out of: FoF tour -- as cool as it sounds, it's only cooler in real life. Endless Summer -- We'll have a few cast members and the stage manager on hand to answer any questions you would have. Trust me -- these people live... interesting... lives. Buffet -- If you haven't been up in the International Restaurant yet, that may make your day. ...and no, we're still not quite finished with the surprises of the day. Oh, and before anyone says it, KICentral will not, is not, has no intention of, cannot legally, and just plain doesn't want to make any kind of announcement about the 2008 season at the event. Every time there's an event rumors circulate that the next big thing will be announced at it and it never is, so don't waste your time speculating.

Funny -- the same people who question credibility are the same people who attack others for questioning credibility. I think Interp coined the phrase (at least for our use), "Those who don't know speak while those who know remain silent." Not saying anything about RS's credibility necessarily, but we do get a lot of people who post random rumors, or people who are nothing more than arrogant lap bar checkers who think they have the inside scoop because they're level 1 in north pie.

You know, people are ruling out Disney because they think that it'll hurt the market for Disney World. Think of it this way: what if Dinsey purchased CF and ran the parks like they're run now just not under the Disney banner? That way if a family has the money to go to Disney World they could, if they don't and end up at KI... well, Walt still gets your money.
-
What about '04? The economy was coming off of a pretty bad recession yet attendance was up pretty high. Trust me, as the economy gets worse, KI won't see nearly as much of a decline. Why? Because families who can't afford to go to Disney or on vacation will spend their descretionary dollars at KI instead.

While I'm a MUCH bigger advocate of returning the ride to its former glory rather than removing it, if they removed it it would free up a LOT of land for expanson. Not just where the ride sits, but behind it.

Cedar Fair Looking For Buyers--That Would Keep Bosses
BoddaH1994 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
They own property in MI. I wonder if they'll either dump that property, or dump MIA and build a park from scratch when they're in better shape. -
Weird Al Yankovic In Concert August 18, 2007 7:30pm Timberwolf Amphitheatre Ticket Prices: $9.95 to $44.95 Laughter abounds as the King of Musical Satire, ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic is live in concert at the TimberWolf Amphitheatre at Kings Island Saturday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m. The two-time Grammy-winning, multi-gold and platinum recording artist performs spoofs and original songs from his latest release “Straight Outta Lynwood.” Known for such hits as “Ricky,” “I Love Rocky Road,” “Eat It,” “I Lost On Jeopardy,” “Like A Surgeon,” “Yoda,” and “Smells Like Nirvana,” ‘Weird Al’ has proven his knack for parody. His lampooning shows no prejudice claiming as its latest victims Green Day, Usher, R. Kelly, Taylor Hicks and many more on his recent album that debuted at #10 on the Billboard album charts, giving Al his first Top 10 album ever! Tickets are on sale now! Ticket prices are $34.95 and $44.95 per ticket and include admission to Kings Island. Concert only tickets are $24.95 per ticket. Concert tickets for Season Pass Holders are $9.95 and $14.95 per ticket. All concert seats are reserved. Tickets can be purchased by phone at (513) 562-4949 Cincinnati, (417) 239-1000 Indianapolis and (895) 281-6644 Lexington or online at www.ticketmaster.com. I'm not entirely certain that KI's attendance is down, and in all reality, neither are you.

No, just buy the $16.95 one. I do not yet have an answer to that question. They may open the lot early, may not. You guys will be the first to know. If they're not KIC users... well, obviously I'd first encourage you to have them sign up, but it's not required. Just put their first name in the fields. There are several spots so if you're purchasing more than one ticket, you can RSVP them together. Also, unfortunately the E-ticket system is not available for this event. It only works for admission, not picnics. However, if you purchase your ticket AFTER the Monday before the event, your ticket will be held at will call. Ryan

You are correct. We're not ready to announce the actual agenda for the day. However I can tell you that you are to meet at the front gate with lanyards at 9:00, the FoF tour begins at 9:20 and Firehawk first ride is tenatively scheduled for 9:50. All times are subject to change. The park closes at 10:00 that night and your Beast ERT will immediately follow the last guests being cleared out of the ride and will last for 15 minutes. Ryan

Oh the memories: "Look everybody, it's Sheriff Hauntguy!" "Well, it looks like we have some fine KICentral folks here today!"
-
I think it goes without saying that I'll be there. I think it's great that you guys are brining friends and family but REMEMBER that in order to do one, two, or ANY of the events, the person must purchase tickets to the event. No exceptions!!

Thanks. Well, I'd love to bring my Dad, but he's not a forums kind of guy. However, when I RSVP on the pki.com website and it requires I type in a username for name tag purposes, do I just put in his name if he doesn't register to the forums? Just his first name will be fine. Whatever you want to appear on the lanyard. I think we're going to go with first name and username on the typical lanyards.

They're right. It's $16.95 if you already have a way of getting into KI, whether it's a season pass, maxx pass, maxx pass plus, employee ID, or you have already purchased a ticket. Please direct further event questions to the official event thread.

At what point are you getting the password error? If you go to the supplied page, PKI.com/SonofBeast (thank Josh for that randomness) and fill out the RSVP then it should link you to where you can purchase the tickets. The way I THINK it's going to work (and you will be informed if this changes) is that we'll have someone working at the WILL CALL windows to the left of the main gate. You'll see a sign for KIC, which is where you can present your ticket and will receive your lanyard and meal ticket. It will probably be manned until around 10:00 or so in which you'll have to go to Guest Relations, immediately to the right of the entrance tolls. Also, please Please PLEASE RSVP before you purchase your tickets. That way we can have an accurate head count and have the lanyards custom made. Also please note that this whole system is new to us and I think it's pretty new to the park as well, so don't be offended if we miss a preprinted lanyard or two. As long as you have your ticket, you're fine, and we'll have tons of extra lanyards.

Workin' on it. I'll let you know. No guarentees. Regular wheel chair rental is $12 at the park with electric wheel chair rental being around $40, I think. Like Dane said, most things that we're doing are 100% accessible, but some by nature are not. For example, it would be very difficult to do the Son of Beast walkback and nearly impossible to do The Beast walkback tour if you are unable to walk in testy terrain and remain in a walking position. I assure you that both the staff at KICentral and the fine PR crew of Kings Island will do everything in our power to make the proper accommodations for our guests with special needs. Also, it's been asked if people can bypass the fee if they are not eating the meal. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Part of our agreement with Kings Island is that all people who participate in the event must purchase a meal ticket. Any more questions?

OFFICIAL answers: There have been Tomb Raider: The Ride tours in the past, but there isn't a lot you can see. And what you can see, you're not allowed to take photos of. We're not doing that tour, and you're not missing a lot. We planned on having a scavenger hunt, but the idea was scratched. I have been dying to write a scavenger hunt for years, but this won't be the year. Once you see the agenda.. and how PACKED it is, you'll understand. Oh -- and the pricing is ready It'll be: $16.95 for adults that have a season pass/Maxx Pass/Maxx Pass Plus/Employee ID $42.95 for adults who need to purchase admission to the park & event. Ryan

Stopped by the park for a few hours today. Rode Spongebob, Delirium, Son of Beast, and da Beast. I was with SOB_Tom who's laid up in a wheel chair at the moment due to a knee injury. Many many employees were very helpful with that situation, and yes I did email guest relations with names, rides, times, and locations of specifically helpful employees. Good work, KI!!

Actually, I'd like to see a merger of Dick Kinzel's ambition and Walt Disney's dream. IF it worked, it would be utopia.

That's always been the concept of KIC. We don't want your money. We just want to talk KI with people who share in our passion. Different members of the site, and even some people at the park encouraged us to create a coaster club, but we've never been a fan of that. I'd rather you come to our site because you choose to than have you feel as though you are required to pay X-amount of dollars to join a club to pay an additional amount to go to the event. Don't be con-ed into that!
