  1. I just got an email from Don Helbig asking me to inform you that Son of Beast has reopened to the public. He also mentioned that Drop Zone won't be long either! Happy riding, Ryan
  2. Yes. We're going to try to limit it to 200-250 people. If we start getting up there, I'll let everyone know. Yeah, we've run into that. The tickets thus far have all been dated for 7/11/07, which oddly enough is the day we announced the event. I can assure you that both KICentral and Kings Island are aware of the problem and I will report any resolve (if any as needed) as soon as I get some information. I'm not sure about the $29.95 admission thing. That was a Kings Island thing, not a KIC thing. It's likely that the first tour will be before they open the admissions windows, so I wouldn't count on using that for the event.
  3. Yeah, it'll be around 5 or 5:30 and the event starts at 9:00. I'd eat breakfast or eat in the park.
  4. July 11th was the day it was finalized on. Not sure why it says that day, but I doubt it'll be a problem.
  5. I think Lin's right. But then, the day that people quit going to KI specifically to ride SOB is the day that it becomes firewood.
  6. Oh that is a treat. Did you prompt them by saying, "Remember that ride that you could have been injured on?" Yeah.. I was gonna say... how eager can they be to ride?
  7. In order to do any of the events you must purchase a meal ticket. No exceptions.
  8. August 3rd at noon. That's the day before. I'm excited to say that we have a respectable amount of RSVPs. How many people intend to go but haven't purchased tickets yet?
  9. Yeah, if you're going to use sarcasm, use the emoticons. We pay good money for those things.
  10. You people can love 'em or hate 'em but at least amongst the very liberal media he's not afraid to speak his mind.
  11. Cool -- great concert and we get to see our next president!
  12. Like we could top the last train tour. We the people of the train tour In order to form a more perfect train tour As if that's possible Which it's not One train tour Forever and ever Amen Oh, the memories.
  13. From my understanding, for larger scale parks like KI, selling rides is more of a conveniece thing than anything. Simply put: they'd rather make a few bucks selling a removed ride than having to find somewhere to store it. In big business terms, selling the rides gets you pocket changed. It's kind of like if you ate at McDonald's and someone offered you two or three pennies to take your trash for their future use. You probably wouldn't bend over to pick up a few pennies off the ground, but hey, at least you don't have to go through the trouble of throwing your own trash away.
  14. Actually, I don't own the site. Legally speaking, Dane owns it. This is the breakdown: Dane does web design and content, I do content, PR, moderation, and things of that sort. Ryan
  15. I suppose we see so many cases of death an injury from people just not following the rules that we loose site of things when innocent people get really hurt. No one should have to fear for their lives or safety at a park so whoever is responsible for such a thing. Well, they should pay....
  16. Well, thanks for the kind words! We have worked with the marketing/PR department a few times, mainly casting for TV filmings, but this event is certainly the biggest synergy we've had with them. A KI museum? Well, that would be an interesting project. ACE was working with them to make a RC museum within the park, but not unlike the real ACE museum in Pennsylvania, nothing ever materialized. If they asked us to, we'd certainly be up for it!
  17. The exact itinerary hasn't been completed yet. That probably won't be 1000% set until a week or so before the event. We're still fine-tuning exactly what happens when. You'll get an official copy of it once you pick up your lanyard at Will Call.
  18. That's probably your punishment for being a Mac user. haha I'd call group sales and just order over the phone. If this is your first event it'll probably be one of the best times you'll ever have at a park. My first event like this was Beastbuzz 04 and I still remember every second of it to this day. Dane, Josh and I worked hard to try to squeeze in every possible perk we could that day. I really think you'll get to see and learn about things that will really blow you away. I'd really encourage you and everybody else to do as many things as possible. Even the things that may not seem so appealing to you, like the Q&A with the cast of Endless Summer, really is a unique opportunity. In fact, I thought the whole idea of the sign shop tour was lame until I did it myself. Also, has anyone RSVPed for more than one person at a time? I got a small laundry list of members who have RSVPed, but there's only one name per list and I find it a little hard to believe that not one person RSVPed for more than one. If you RSVPed for more than one, please drop me a PM and let me know. Here are some things that you will get a special kick out of: FoF tour -- as cool as it sounds, it's only cooler in real life. Endless Summer -- We'll have a few cast members and the stage manager on hand to answer any questions you would have. Trust me -- these people live... interesting... lives. Buffet -- If you haven't been up in the International Restaurant yet, that may make your day. ...and no, we're still not quite finished with the surprises of the day. Oh, and before anyone says it, KICentral will not, is not, has no intention of, cannot legally, and just plain doesn't want to make any kind of announcement about the 2008 season at the event. Every time there's an event rumors circulate that the next big thing will be announced at it and it never is, so don't waste your time speculating.
  19. Funny -- the same people who question credibility are the same people who attack others for questioning credibility. I think Interp coined the phrase (at least for our use), "Those who don't know speak while those who know remain silent." Not saying anything about RS's credibility necessarily, but we do get a lot of people who post random rumors, or people who are nothing more than arrogant lap bar checkers who think they have the inside scoop because they're level 1 in north pie.
  20. You know, people are ruling out Disney because they think that it'll hurt the market for Disney World. Think of it this way: what if Dinsey purchased CF and ran the parks like they're run now just not under the Disney banner? That way if a family has the money to go to Disney World they could, if they don't and end up at KI... well, Walt still gets your money.
  21. What about '04? The economy was coming off of a pretty bad recession yet attendance was up pretty high. Trust me, as the economy gets worse, KI won't see nearly as much of a decline. Why? Because families who can't afford to go to Disney or on vacation will spend their descretionary dollars at KI instead.
  22. As of Friday, 38 people had RSVPed. Of course, there's only one name per email address so I'm wondering if it's not picking up more than one. Yes, unless otherwise noted.
  23. While I'm a MUCH bigger advocate of returning the ride to its former glory rather than removing it, if they removed it it would free up a LOT of land for expanson. Not just where the ride sits, but behind it.
