  1. Click here to find out about KICentral's Special Announcement!!
  2. Topgun, about 30 times on P&G day around '95 or so.
  3. Just remember, if you do decide to upgrade to a season pass, your cedit is only for that day's admission. You can't come back and get it... even the next day.
  4. Don't you think that a new ride would be "a new announcement coming from Kings Island" rather than from KICentral? We're not the parks spokespeople, that's why they pay Don the big bucks.
  5. No. And I'm loving reading your guesses. Some people are close, but most are just way off. Ok good because it was a nice update but I was expecting something bigger. It is. I'm as excited about making the mystery announcement as you are about hearing it. We're just tying up some loose ends.
  6. As much as I'd hate to admit it, Jack Rabbit is a much better ride than Screachin' Eagle...
  7. No. And I'm loving reading your guesses. Some people are close, but most are just way off.
  8. It wouldn't be too lofty of a business decision to purchase such a large chain and not maintain control of it. I'm guessing they'll sell off some properties they don't need and they'll be fine.
  9. While I see your point about having these at every ride incase another incident like this happens. What many of you don't realize is that no employee can perform any kind of first aid on a guest unless they have been trined to do so by the park. I am not sure if this is still the case or not, but it was under Paramount. I am sure a current employee can let us know if this is still the policy. If someone collapsed in a station, an employee could not perform CPR on a guest, even if they were certified through a babysitting class, high school, etc, unless they were certified by the park. Which means if someone had collapsed, like this person did, they would not be able to do anything except call for help. Basically they just have to stand back and watch and hope that there is a doctor or nurse in line like there was in this case. I know this sounds like a stupid idea to most people. But we are in a day where people sue others over the stupidest of circumstances. All it takes is some 16 or 17 year old to perform CPR incorrectly on someone a maybe break a few ribs and you have a lawsuit. Nevermind that the same kid might have just saved their life by performing CPR, they are going to go after the park. You're 100% correct, however have you seen the newer versions of those things? It has a talking voice prompt which tells you EVERYTHING you need to do. It even detects heart rates, so if the person is reactivated, it'll turn itself off. You litterally just have to put the prods on were the voice prompt tells you to put them and let the machine go to town. Training literally takes about 30 seconds. All you need to know is how to turn it on and how to identify the beeping noise it makes when it needs a new battery. Of course, I'd figure Cedar Fair would want people to practice on dummies, but that's not asking a lot. Maybe make ride sups have the training. This is why they don't have them at every ride: what if someone DIDN'T use it? It would be a great way to sue CF if a person had a heart attack and "no one tried to help him/her and they had the means to help". In a shocking situation, it's hard to think of what to do, so having a device like that hidden somewhere doesn't always come to mind. For the hockey team I worked for last year, we had one in the locker room and the trainer would remind everyone where it is every couple of weeks or so.
  10. Jerry Couch, of Couch's RVs is the owner of the Americana/LeSourdsville Lake property. A lot of the rides are gone, but some remain. Mainly the Log Flume, all 3 coasters, carousel, trains and a few kiddy rides remain. The park really isn't in that great of shape. Like any thrill ride, things can be done to rehab the rides there, but it won't be easy or cheap.
  11. You forgot to congratulate Scott from Entertainment too!! Did Spirit Song make the park crowded today like it did Thursday? I watch what I could from Skyflyer on Thursday. I had never been to a Christian concert before (I guess technically I still haven't been). One guy yelled "Say Rock!" and all the tennage girls yelled "Rock!" then he said, "Say Roll!" and all the teenage girls yelled "Roll!" then he followed up with, "Say, I love Jesus with all my heart!" which turned into a mess of voices. Kinda funny.
  12. I assure you, that's not the case. The staff at KIC has come to know Jerry Couch personally and he's a very good-hearted person. He wanted that park to reopen in 2003 as much as anyone else did. Why would he buy all that land if he just wanted to have an RV dealership? He was ripped off. Call him guilty of ignorance, but I assure you that nothing he did was on purpose. Now the park is in horrible disrepair. Some rides are there, some have been sold off. It's a terrible site to see.
  13. For those of you who are hit or miss on the site, I wanted to inform you to stay tuned to KICentral for a very special announcement within the next few days!! 080407
  14. I rode smack dab in the middle of the train. You had a lot of floating air time going down the hills, but in a lot of sports you could tell it WANTED to give you air.
  15. I was there as well. I left around 8, though... glad to hear that they were still able to do the fireworks.
  16. Swung by the park to ride it today. MUCH better than before. The ride still kind of needs a hug in certain places. Certainly a better ride than it's ever been before.
  17. WHAT? SPAM!! Just kidding! Robbie has worked VERY hard on this over the past couple of months and we're very proud to have it as an extension of the KICentral brand.
  18. This is what prevents me from wanting a job at KI. I think some of the magic of the park would be lost by seeing behind the scenes. You need not worry about that aspect! My working at the park has only made the magic even greater, as I can now see first hand all of the hard work that goes into making all my previous visits so great and all those visits of other guests great as well! And of course you do get to see the internal workings of a theme park, which is actually really cool stuff! I agree with you, Corey. I've worked closely with the park for the past two years or so to do this site the way it's done. Even more so now with... well, you'll see... part of the KI magic for me is the great people I've come in contact with.
  19. I've heard you get some air going down the first hill. Has anyone else felt this?
  20. I think the days of free parking after six left with Paramount.
  21. From what I understand, people were making themselves sick after being jetted in the face with the water. Doesn't mean water can't be used, it just means it can't shoot so high.
