Sean Hannity Freedom Concert coming to KI!
I'll have to agree. I think that country now with the dash of rock mixed in with it is kind of inferior to country of the past like Hank Williams or Johnny Cash.

Taking a trip with infants
Although there is a strict rule about outside food and beverages, I'm sure that brining in things for infants won't be an issue. Before you go, I'd call 1-800-288-0808, which is KI's GR number. There you can ask them what kind of accommodations they have for any special needs the infants might have.

A little trip advice from the experts...
I'd certainly shop around. Kings Island Inn is right across the street and they do offer a free shuttle service, so it may be worth it if it isn't much more expensive. Make sure you let us know how your trip goes! Ryan

Coaster Guide?
I'm not going to lie, half the time you guys refer to a coaster I have to open RCDB to get the scoop on it. haha We've considered making a "KIC Glossary" which (amongst other things) talks about types of coasters. It would mainly refer to abbreviations that we use all the time, but a newcomer would have trouble picking up on (SOB, TRTR, RT, etc).

Father's Day Weekend
Kings Island has an online sale going on for daily tickets, however at the time of this posting their system seems to be down. I think the tickets are $34.95 online.

Endless Summer on Ice Preview!
Funniest thing. A birdie flew down and told me that the show will open early, today (Friday) at 5:00. Of course, nothing is guaranteed.

Annoying habits of guests
Two of the guys in the discussion were the ones who rode next to us. I kind of bumped hands with the guy in the train while grabbing for the "hold on bar" I guess you could call it. He told me to go ahead and I said something along the lines of, "Nah, if the restraints break, I won't be able to hold on anyway." Of course alluding to the story he was telling his friend in order to scare him about riding.

Does anyone have a cedar point max pass and ki only parking pass?
^ At least if you go to CP often, you can do the Joe Cool thing.

FIREHAWK=big time disappointment/waste of time.
With two trains and two stations, a full queue house is almost exactly an hour's wait with how they're running it now. At least that's what I observed on Wednesday. The coaster actually runs rather well with the two stations. They aren't afraid to dispatch one train while the other is still on the course, which is something that Paramount may have never done. It kind of hits a speed bump when they end up having two trains ready to go at the same time, but the offset time is usually made up for by the one train waiting. Then it returns to a one train on course/one train loading situation. Have the four-across seats really helps clear the station quickly too. I can see that if they keep the two stations, the ride really won't be a bad capacity ride on normal operating days, especially once the novelty wears off.

Annoying habits of guests
Oh... where to start? 1) People who can't figure out the restraint system of rides. Slows down capacity and sometimes they even have to upbar and recheck because they put it down before getting into it. KI seriously needs to employ some sort of test and those who fail shouldn't be allowed out of Nick Universe. 2) Center-midway stroller "parking". I'm guessing that the park sees a few incidents a year of someone just tripping over a stroller that was abruptly stopped in a midway. 3) People who stand there and talk instead of moving with the progress of a line. 4) People who ask ride ops stupid questions slowing down the ride capacity. They have a job to do. 5) People who "hear stories" about how someone died on each and every ride... no matter how safe the ride is, and no matter how far they could be from the truth. 6) People who try to go through the metal detectors with enough luggage to fly to Europe for a month. 7) People who refer to rides with the word "The" in front of the name, even if it's not appropriate (ie The Son of The Beast, The Firehawk, The Flight of Fear). 8) People who leave their soiled trays on the tables in the eateries.

Some pay as you ride waste of space? Do you agree?
What exactly do you mean by a "challenge park"?

Some pay as you ride waste of space? Do you agree?
Now the question is: where in space? If you're in Earth's orbit, you're still technically falling and still theoretically weight the same.

Endless Summer on Ice Preview!
You know, in all of the excitement of doing this update, I forgot to tell you guys what I thought. The show is amazing. I absolutely loved it. It's fun, cute, funny, entertaining, and quite a spectacle... all wrapped into a show that's under a half hour. My favorite part by far is the 4th of July segment. That's quite a presentation. Bottom line: Just see it..... you'll see.

Endless Summer on Ice Preview!
This Saturday Kings Island will proudly debut the Endless Summer on Ice show in the Paramount Theatre! Join the cast of well over a dozen professional ice skaters as they perform the amazing new show in the Paramount Theatre, but don't be surprised if you get paid a visit by some old friends from Hanna-Barbera Land. Follow the kids through their adventure beginning with the last day of school at Cedar High School as the kids celebrate the beginning of another summer to the tune of "School's Out." Of course, what's summer vacation without summer camp... at Jellystone Park! Patriotic music plays and red, white and blue is all around as the gang celebrates the 4th of July in an over-the-top Endless Summer fashion. But don't get too comfortable, it's not long until it's time for school to start again. Of course what's school without a classic disco dance to send off the summer? Click here to see your sneak preview of Endless Summer on Ice! Don't forget to keep checking KICentral.com for the latest news, rumors, photos, and information about Kings Island amusement park! A special thanks goes out to Scott, and Josh for making these photos possible. Regards, Ryan & Dane KICentral.com Update: Daily showtimes will be 1:00, 3:00, 5:30, & 7:30. Open every day except Wednesday.

Hot Island Rhythms Preview!
^ So... you double post, and say that Brunck is 'the man' in the first and then say that the entertainment department can't be pinned on one person in the next? Anyway, I think the entertainment department is having a turn for the better, and I think it started in 2005 with the show (which I still absolutely love) School of Rock. Of course, no one can go on without tipping their hats to the cast of Toy Factory either. I mean, they had several down years. I mean, Magic of the Movies was flat out painful to watch, but there have been many buoyant moments since then.

2008 attractions.
When the decision was made to bring X-Flight to KI, the powers that be probably looked for a parcel of land that was relatively flat and easy to develop given the time frame. Since the former helicopter ride was there previously, and the land was cleared for the most part, it was a rather easy decision. Now if CF is planning another major ride/ expansion, past history (CP) suggests they will add to an area of the park that currently does not recieve a lot of attention from guests. My bet is Rivertown. Word on the street is that the X-Flight decision was made based on Kinzel's thought that KI lacked a good collection of steels, which is something I don't doubt at all. They have plenty of places where they could have put X-Flight in storage if they really wanted to.

Basketball Booth
Unfortunately, the answer to that is probably yes. Sad part is, they're so paranoid about coasters having fender benders that they shut them down in the rain, yet they'll give out full inflated basketballs which are just asking to be lost into a ride area and really hurt someone.

sob trains
Did your birdie tell you if it was the part that broke? No, it was not the helix.
-
sob trains
A birdie flew down and told me they took a small test run on a portion of the track with a test chassis. 110% unconfirmed, so take it for what it's worth.

NEWS: KI announces drop in attendance
Let's establishing something: Cedar Fair does NOT report the attendance of individual parks. The article is wrong. It's completely wrong. There's no way for it to be truly accurate. Case closed.
