  2. Don't forget -- what's bad for Six Flags is bad for Fair. As far as the general public is concerned, they're all the same thing.
  3. Depp was in the first Nightmare on Elm Street movie.
  4. We can't emphasize that enough -- the meal ticket is your ticket to the whole event, not just the meal. If you do not have a meal ticket, you can not get a lanyard which means that you can not go on any of the tours or do any of the activities. I wish we had the ability to open up more tickets, or be able to do on-site registration, but that's simply not an option. Remember that the South Tolls will be open early on that day, around 8:45. Be early! It is very important that lanyards are distributed in a timely fashion so that the Flight of Fear tour can happen on time. Don't forget to dress appropriately. The 10 day forecast is saying that the day will be perfect, about 87 degrees and sunny. Remember to wear clothing that is appropriate for being outdoors and walking for extended periods of time. Remember to wear shoes that are comfortable! Also, due to the action-packed agenda, we recommend eating breakfast before arriving or picking up a snack while you are there. The International Restaurant picnic will not happen until 5:15. I want to again remind everyone that if you got an RSVP confirmation it isn't necessarily a receipt. You should have gotten a total of two emails: one to confirm your RSVP and another to confirm you order. Remember that you must have the ticket that they mail to you to get your lanyard. Printing either emails won't do that for you. If you have any doubts, please call Kings Island's Guest Relations phone at 1-800-288-0808. The staff of KICentral has nothing to do with the vending of the tickets. We're just sponsoring the event. Again, if you have any worries about your ticket sales, it would be best if you called the number listed above ASAP. Due to the fact that we cut ticket sales a week before the event, all tickets will be mailed, none will be held at Will Call. Remember, your meal ticket is both your ticket to get a lanyard (and in turn your ticket to do the special activities) and it is also the ticket you present in the International Restaurant so keep your meal ticket in a safe place at the event because you will need it at two different points through out the day. Remember that the park is going out on a limb for you guys so make sure you are showing respect to the employees and following all posted and dictated rules. Remember that there are thousands of members of KICentral and you are representing them by wearing your lanyard and attending the event. If you would like to see activities like this in the future, it is absolutely necessary that the reputation of this site is not negatively influenced. Also, it looks like the lanyards will only be having peoples' usernames on them. Make sure that you are introducing yourselves to the people around you. I can assure you that the best part of this event will be all of the friends you will be making. Some of the best people I've ever met have been through this site, and I want you to have the same blessing. Remember - we're all Kings Island enthusiasts, so we all have common ground. You're really going to be robbing yourself if you act shy at the event. I hope you guys are as excited as I am, Ryan
  5. That's funny -- Down here in northern KY, we had a consistent drizzle all day, Kings Island has a monsoon, and Dane is camping up between Kings Island and Dayton and didn't see a drop of rain.
  6. I agree -- welcome! Last year when you purchased your 07 pass in 06, you could get into your home park but NOT other Cedar Fair parks on the Maxx Pass until the 2007 season. They haven't announced how it will work this year, and the system is getting better and better, so it's quite possible that they could work this season, but I wouldn't count on it.
  7. Sorry -- you must have a ticket to participate in the event.
  8. How many tickets were sold? I won't have the number until next week.
  9. The staff of KICentral.com and the fine folks at Kings Island are absolutely blown away by the reaction we had to the announcement of our event scheduled for August 4th. I have the unfortunate responsibility of informing you that the event is officially sold out and tickets are no longer available. We would like to thank everyone for their interest in what is to be a very special and memorable day. We’ll see you on 080407! Regards, Ryan
  10. This event is officially SOLD OUT. Both the staff of KICentral.com and Kings Island are absolutely blown away by the huge response to the event. We'll see you on August 4th! For those of you who didn't get tickets, hopefully the event will go well and we'll be able to do it again in the future.
  11. I remember that! That was great from a guests's standpoint because when the fireworks would go off at 10:00, most people would think the park was closed and would leave. This mean a great reduction in lines for the last 2 hours.

I can see his point... when riding Congo, I feel like I'm back in the '80s.

I'm not sure if it's the Little Miami or Great Miami river that runs next to Kings Island. However I have noticed that I've never seen anything larger than a canoe on either of them.... and probably for a good reason too.
  14. There's been a sign where the FoF photo booth used to be saying, 'Flight of Fear On Ride Video Coming Soon!' or something to that effect. It's been there since the 2nd weekend of park operation. I'm guessing this is a major thing and that's why it's taking so long.
  15. Karen, If you have trouble getting your tickets AFTER RSVPing at This Site then you can directly purchase tickets from This Site.
  16. Important Information: DUE TO THE LARGE VOLUME OF TICKET SALES, Kings Island AND KICentral.COM HAVE AGREED TO CONSIDER THE EVENT SOLD OUT AS OF FRIDAY, JULY 27TH AT 5:00! If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, now is the time!! The parking lot will open early for you around 8:45. BE EARLY! There will be a a booth at the old season pass entrance (near will call) where you can present your meal ticket and get your lanyard. DO NOT LOOSE YOUR MEAL TICKET! That is both your ticket to get your lanyard AND you must present it at the International Restaurant in order to enter. No rainchecks, refunds, exchanges, etc per park policy. In the event of rain, the schedule may be altered, however almost all events will go on as scheduled. The Agenda is as follows: 8:45 - The South Tolls will open early to accommodate the KICentral group. BE THERE EARLY! 9:00 - Pick up your lanyards at the table near Will Call. HAVE YOUR MEAL TICKET! 9:15 - Flight of Fear backstage tour. Meet with group at Will Call. 9:50 - First Ride on Firehawk! In the event that Firehawk does not open with the park, there will be a first ride on Flight of Fear instead. You MUST be at the Flight of Fear backstage tour in order to do the first ride on Firehawk. Otherwise you MUST enter with the general public at 10:00! 10:00 - KICentral Table with lanyards closes. If you arrive after 10:00am, you may pick up your lanyard at Guest Relations. 11:00 Sign Shop Tour - Meet at the Boomerang Bay sign at the entrance to the picnic grove in Nickelodeon Universe. 12:30 - Son of Beast Backstage Tour - Meet at Face/Off. 2:30 - Exclusive seating at Endless Summer on Ice with meet and greet with cast following. Arrive at the Paramount Theatre at 2:30 for early seating before the general public. 4:15 - Beast Backstage Tour - Meet at The Beast sign in Rivertown. 5:15 - Dinner in the International Restaurant. You MUST have your meal ticket present to get your food!!! 7:30 - An evening in the Paramount Theatre. The fine folks in entertainment have opened up the Paramount Theatre to us and you have the opportunity to view some really intersting old Kings Island promotional videos as well as some other fun presentations on their GIGANTIC Christie Screen. 10:00 - Final rides on all 7,359ft of The Beast!
  17. I agree -- the intention of my post was to say that he should have talked to GR about this, not that the information isn't welcome on that site. I'm horrible at communicating the small things.
  18. Have you been to the Omnimax lately? (And yes, I am plugging the Omnimax because I like it a lot) Their new projector is so bright that the it's 3x brighter than any IMAX projector. Everything looks REALLY 3D. And yes -- technically it's all analog.
  19. Not ALL films are digital. Even some things that you'd think are digital aren't. The Omnimax Theatre at the Cincy Museum Center actually uses 72mm film.
  20. For the sake of the park, I wish they could have opened it for a few days before shutting it down for the new part. The local media didn't handle the situation well and attributed its long downtime to the SFKK incident, which isn't necessarily true.
  21. Actually, if you want to talk expansion, if they removed FX they could have a midway that ran all the way to The Beasts's brake shed.
  22. I guess they were great for kids, but adults and Seniors this is not so, how about removing just about ever non wild leisure adult ride that my parents could enjoy like the antique cars, the flying eagles, and others. I'd say up until '99, Paramount was respectible. It was right around then that Viacom was vested and started to estrange the parks. Look at the list: 2000 Son of Beast: Response to CF competition up north. 2001 Nick Central: Gutted the charm of the old kids area to add more rides. 2002 Tomb Raider: Give 'em props for the first year on that one. 2003 Delirium/Scooby: Anyone can make a flat, and Scooby is a step down IMHO. 2004 Boomerang Bay: Waterparks are inexpensive and get you cheap props. 2005 Italian Job: Nothing like the animation, cost cutting ruined the ride, even after opening. 2006 Nick U: In case you didn't figure it out, this was kind of thrown together.
  23. Oh, I thought this forum discussed "General info about King's Island." I was only trying to see what other people thought. I can see my comments are not welcomed. I guess people only hear what they want to hear. Thanks. This was only my opinion. It's clear that I'm not in the majority. Did I say your comments aren't welcomed? No, not at all. In fact, I was trying to help you. If you don't like the service at McDonald's you ask to speak to a manager, you don't talk to the guy working the register at Burger King. He may agree or disagree with you, but it doesn't make a difference. A lot of people e-mail me and Dane, or post on the forums ranting about a good or bad guest experience, and that does absolutely nothing. Talk to guest relations about that stuff, that's what they do for a living -- they make things "all better". On that same note, if you're going to flip out when people don't like what you have to say then I'd recommend straying from the internet... that's all you're going to get, which is both the nightmare and the beauty of it.
  24. Give Cedar Fair a chance -- it's only been a year. They have a LOT of debt to pay off and this is their first experience in having a load like that.
  25. This isn't a place to complain about ride crews, employees, etc. If you saw something you didn't like, you should have stopped by the Guest Relations window on your way out. I infact, you can still email KingsIslandGR@ParamountParks.com . Which rides did you think were in bad shape? In all honesty, Cedar Fair is in the process of cleaning up the mess that Paramount left the park in when they quit caring 5 years ago. Tomb Raider... see all 5,000 other threads about the same topic. That thing hasn't worked correctly all year..
