Signed, Sealed, and Delivered!
BoddaH1994 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
It's going to take a long time to convert everything over to KICentral, that's IF we do that... Once again, it doesn't hurt anything to be PKICentral. In all honesty, the decision has yet to be made. -
Very cool... they did used to have a battle scene in the train ride.
-
Anybody ever have the urge to have a BM after riding a B&M? I've never thought of it that way... My only impression of a B&M is Chang at SFKK, so I'm going to just take your word for it that they're really as great as you guys say they are.

Smoothest ride I ever had on The Beast
BoddaH1994 replied to coasterking123456's topic in Trip Reports
According to the FCC, you must be of 13 years of age in order to join any forum on the internet. That's not our rule, that's the federal law. By the age of 13, if you can't construct complete sentences and use proper punctuation then you should be allowed on PKIC, at PKI, or in public in general. The only exception of course being if you had some sort of disability, but 99.999% of the time it's just laziness and a total disregard for the people in the community trying to read your lack of English. -
The crowds will be big and alive 4th of July weekend. You can count on that. Of course there will be tons of entertainment, the Nickelodeon Celebration Parade, as well as ending the evening with Nights of Fire. I wouldn't count on being able to ride a lot of rides, but it will definitely be worth being there.
-
Your trip reports always seem to end with some sort of tragedy... whether it's someone getting sick or the park being over crowded. Kind of a bummer really... Glad you had a good time.

The way Dane explained it to me, there was no real risk involved. Simply the fact that there was an expired license caused Norton, or any other virus protection of firewall software to flip out.
-
I appreciate that greatly. A special thanks goes out to everyone who e-mailed and IMed us throughout the day showing their support.
-
You make a good point, but this is more like terrorism than anything else. They clearly can't make a site like this on their own so out of jealousy they have to attack ours. In all reality, I just feel sorry for them.
-
It's really unfortunate that something like this happened. As Dane said, we've taken measures to prevent it from happening again. It's unfortunate that other sites feel as though they need to infiltrate PKIC in order to award their own success, whether it's actually hacking the site, or attempting to lead people to believe that their computer is at risk by visiting our site, which was claimed by another site, which has no basis whatsoever. Fortunately, despite the fact that something like this happened, and the fact that some people who make saucy attempts to compete with us try to kick us while we're down, I know that a lot of you enjoy coming to this site as much as we love doing this site for you. Welcome back to the great community that is PKIC! Regards, Ryan PKICentral.com - Back in Blaq.

On this past Saturday, coaster enthusiasts braved the heat and humidity to attend the 5th annual Beastbuzz at Paramount's Kings Island! The PKI marketing team, Maureen and Jennifer, along with the Coasterbuzz clan did a wonderful job of keeping their group of just about one hundred entertained. The event featured: Morning ERT on Avatar: The Last Airbender Backstage Tour of The Beast The infamous Jennifer C's Scavanger Hunt Son of Beast Backstage Tour A Wonderful Dinner Buffet ...and night ERTs on Delirium, Drop Zone, Flight of Fear and of course The Beast Click here to see photos from the event. A special thank you goes out to Maureen, Jennifer and the Coasterbuzz crew for such a wonderful event. Thank you! Regards, Ryan PKICentral.com - What would Tom Cruise do?

IF there are 4 man teams, you'll likely find another group of two who are looking for two more.

Listen to all of the statements above. It's important where you sit. Other than that, just sit back and enjoy your ride. These things are very safe.

Yet nothing will compare to last year when I visited the park with my four-year-old daughter. This would be my daughter’s first visit to Paramount’s Kings Island. You do make some very good points, but let me rebuttal: There is no doubt in my mind that smoking, 2nd had smoke, exposure to the chemicals involved, etc. is detrimental to anyone's health. It really doesn't take a national study to determine that. However, the comments about are in response to the fact that you can take almost any nonsmoker any they'll claim some sort of allergic reaction to the smoke. Sometimes it's true, sometimes it's just for sympathy. Regardless of that, I once again agree with the smoking policy of PKI. I really don't think that it's a problem for a smoker to simply move to a smoking section. As I have said before, I think the problem with people violating the rule is mainly people being unaware of it. Bear in mind that you could smoke anywhere you wanted in the park except in lines for well over 30 years. What's it to the uninformed guest to think otherwise this time around? I think that even if the policy were enforced 100% it would still be flawed simply because those who do have serious reactions are forced to walk through several smoking areas to get around the park. The one that particularly comes to mind is the one in between the Italian Job and The Vortex. I've also noticed that there are benches in smoking areas, but no where else nearby. I've seen oblivious mothers feeding their newborn babies sitting on a bench in a smoking section. That really seems like it's not conducive to what they are trying to accomplish in the area. I noticed a lot of people equate smoking to people eating fast food. I can see that, but not in the exact same light as most of you. Eating fast food in the long run costs insurance agencies as well as the government billions of dollars per year in medical expenses. That, in effect, is hurting everyone. The same goes for smoking. While it does have an immediate effect on people (like the allergic reactions listed above), it also ends up costing each and every person around them for the individual mistreating their body. Everything from smoking, to obesity, to a lack of exercise, to drug use is an example of a societal evil that should be eradicated from the world. Unfortunately that would be what we call a perfect world, or Utopia, and simply doesn't exist. So if you ask someone to put out a cigarette, is it really so different from asking someone to put down their cheeseburger? Explain how cheeseburgers are high in fat, cholesterol, MSG, transfats, and salt and how your afraid that they might develop a heart problem in the future costing Medicare thousands of dollars and thus creating a dent in the infrastructure of society as a whole. They'll probably be more sympathetic to that then simply saying, "Your smoke bothers my eyes." Try it out and let me know how it goes... As far as people smoking outside of smoking areas. I can tell you as a VERY frequent guest of the park, it's not as big of a problem as you guys make it out to be. In a given day, how many people do you see smoking outside of the designated areas? Maybe 10? Now think that there are probably between 10,000 and 50,000 people in the park. I can assure you that it's rare that you're in a situation in which you are forced to breathe in 2nd hand smoke in the park. From several centuries ago up until about 5 years ago, people could really smoke everywhere and people who had reactions simply avoided it. I really don't think avoiding that one guy on the midway who violates the rule is really that difficult if you put in perspective. Smoking in lines is a big big problem. In the same instance, I don't really see it as often as people portray it on here but when it does happen that DOES force people to breathe 2nd hand smoke, it is extremely rude, and I would encourage anyone who sees it to tell an associate. Associates -- if you tell them to put it out and they refuse, call security. They've thrown people out for that.. I've seen it happen myself. Heck... you know what extensions to dial... I don't even work there and I know the extension. I don't see why smokers and nonsmokers have to be like the Hatfields and McCoys with all of this. If you ask a smoker to put a cigarette out, chances are half of them will be rude to you. Then again if you think about it, if you ask anyone to do anything, chances are that half of them will be rude to you. Unfortunately sometimes it's hard to believe that humans are the smartest animals... especially if you put them in groups. Ryan

$2 Million sounds extremely cheap for a park, no matter how small it is. -
He didn't know so he asked, I don't see the harm in that...

Once again, there is always on site registration. I'd highly recommend coming. It's an excellent event every year.

What if you were hired to rename KI rides & shops?
BoddaH1994 replied to italianchef's topic in KI Polls
^ Don't forget that not long ago I-Street DID see a Chinese restaurant... and it failed.. then we saw a brand new Mexican restaurant... it failed. Clearly the people to visit the park are looking for more traditional feasts, or even a piece of home, ie Skyline, LaRosas, Montgomery Inn. etc. -
After having finally done Skyflyer, I'd have to say that Skyflyer is more thrilling while Slingshot is more fun.
