  1. It’s a haunt event. Keep roaming Scareactors, get rid of the “no boo” option (they won’t because they can charge for it)… if you don’t want to be scared, don’t go or just go during by the day.
  2. Best thing you can do is report the account. It is clearly impersonating, right down to its bio, so it is not what X/Twitter would consider parody.
  3. I wish Don all the best. A huge loss for the park. I still look back fondly on a high school project I had where we had to interview a professional in a field we were interested in. Don, set aside the time to have me come to the park and talk with him. Our conversation on international street while the park was closed and being decorated for Halloween Haunt was an amazing experience. He may not remember, but it has stuck with me. Best of luck to him, a great ambassador for the park!
  4. True, or could also be just standard PR-speech for downtime that is unexpected on any attraction, so as to avoid a hypothetical (hopefully unlikely) situation where, say, The Beast goes down and someone says "YOU SAID EVERYTHING WOULD BE OPERATING!" Basically, I think that would be their answer regardless at any point in the operating season.
  5. Not sure if this has been mentioned… but if the park wanted to bring back phantom theater, is there a chance it wouldn’t be as expensive as bringing something of that caliber from scratch? They have the ride system, plans already (from before), and all the audio, etc… just need to build new sets and some ride vehicles… I know that’s probably way oversimplified but just something I’ve thought of.
  6. If it were brought back, I’d like it mostly the same, save for technology upgrades and maybe additional theming. And do NOT make it a shooter ride. Regardless something needs to happen with that ride. Boo Blasters is in a sad state of affairs: queue looks gross, dusty and why are there FunTVs in there? Kills whatever atmosphere it could hope to have… also the queue and ride need some good atmospheric music. But the best improvement they could make for Boo Blasters is to replace it with another dark ride.
  7. It does, but it's also run by a chain that thought adding a carnival looper to a large heavily visited park was a good idea.
  8. Also would like to see the audio get turned up. The load/unload has some themed audio that would nice to hear. Especially preferred over the ride op on the mic. The music in the ride building would also be nice to hear beyond mostly just at the brake run (I know that's tougher because it is a pretty loud ride). But never understood why they keep the queue/station audio so low, same with Adventure Express. Neat little theming touches that could be remedied easily.
  9. That first drop is a thing of beauty.
  10. I remember really enjoying KC when I had my chances to ride it. I was younger and had more of a tolerance for forces/roughness, but I don't remember ever thinking of KC as rough. And agreed on the comparison between KC and B&M stand ups. I've only ridden Mantis, but found it pretty unenjoyable. I think the stand up model was one where less was more. KC had just enough fun elements, but didn't go overboard, which is what made it a fun experience for me.
  11. They ought to just bring it back for good at DCA. It fits much better with the theme of the park.
  12. Looking forward to seeing this. Somehow I missed out on Cirque during its run unfortunately. Not for a lack of interest. Last show I saw in the theater was Ed Alonzo, I'm going to have to make a point of getting in to see this this year.
  13. I don't disagree at all with what you're saying, but unfortunately we just have too many others in the park that would've cheapened keeping The Vortex station in my opinion. So if not for all the others I would've been more in favor of keeping it.
  14. Sad to the see the station go because it was iconic and a remnant of the days that station weren't just rectangle warehouses with a few theming elements on them. But at the end of the day, without anything big on tap for that location another 3 years or so at least, it's for the best. The park has enough empty former ride buildings as is, we didn't need another.
