Probabily any ride that they put me on to work, if I dont get tech services job.

Ahhh, the old animatronic figures. I remember them. The story behind the train (from what I can piece from memory) was that you are on a train ride through an old time western city. People would wave hello to you, and you saw many types of wildlife. As you rounded the bend to where now the turnaround from BB is, you would see Ft. Washington (I think thats what it was called). On the hillside right across from the fort was an indian attacking the fort. He had an old fashioned machine gun, and it would actually fire (like the old popguns). This is all I really remember.

ok, I would like to point out a few things: 1) TTD is NOT creative. It launches, does a tophat, and returns to the station. Wow, I waited in line 6 hrs for a 15 second ride. 2) To those ACErs, screw 'em. Im an ACEr myself, but those who refuse to buy a pass just because PKI hasnt had a new coaster in a couple of years is total bull ****. If you want coasters, go somewhere else. 3) Those people who vote on those pamphlets are mostly CPaholics. The reason they dont know how frendly other parks are is because they dont spend as much time at PKI or other parks. 4) Like a poster said, best kids area bring customers to the gate. For those of you who have gone to CP, how many families have you seen? Im talking with at least one kid under 48". 5) Why are we arguing about attendance figures, and who won what? This is something you would see on PKIC or Coasterbuzz (HI JEFF!!!!)

Again, why would they do something for SOB when its The BeastS anniversary?
-
sobrider, ya butchered the story: One night, while all the other rides were sleeping, Scooby Doo snuck over to The Racers to have a little fun. Of course, they were drinking, and they got promiscuious, and The Beast was born. After The Beast grew into its sexual prime, it saw the lovely Vortex standing in its field one day and spiked Vortex's drink. Well, knowing how tough The Beast is, he took the poor Vortex home, and decided to get promicuious. After 9 months, The Sob of Beast was born. Thats the offical story from SOB_TOM. Anyway, No. There is no way, after SOB was a kinda flop to the GP that the lineage of Beast will continue. I just dont see it happening.

::shugs:: I dont know anything, you cant get it out of me!!!!!!!!

Tis the reason I purposefully left my camera at home. PS. Technically, now that it is the offseason, and BB is public knowledge, we can discuss it all we want. Now if we were to discuss future additions, then we would be in trouble.

You all have it wrong: The worst day I have ever worked was BAFFD, midnight closing, with a meeting I had to be at 815 AM. So I had to work 815-11pm, plus we werent done cleaning till about 230-300 in the morning. Then, to make it worse, I had an open shift the next morning. I slept in my car.

While we are on the subject of copyright infringement, you might want to notice that the boxcover looks a lot like the Matrix:Reloaded theme. You might want to change that because there is an offchance that they will notice.

After doing some research, since someone tried sueing me for this subject, you cannot trademark a word or letter, unless it is a specific design that you personally have come up with. Some guy tried to sue me for using words that were in his title (not his personal title, a different one that contained two of his "copyrighted" words) and it didnt really pan out the way he wanted. He ended up spending over 4 grand on a lawyer, and didnt even get a motion into court.

Heres one for ya: My dad and I run a sound business and we were doing a christmas gig last year. It was snowing and raining, and then the temp dropped to about 15 before the event ended. We had 3 inches of ice on the speakers, and the cords were so iced up that we had to thaw them out before we could detach them at all. we had to spend the night in our car (it was a christmas walk) until the next morning cause we couldnt break the ice without damaging the equipment. WE had to keep music playin too so that the actual pads on the speakers wouldnt become brittle on us. That day sucked.

You have to remember though, everyone chooses where they want to work. Its not like the old days where parents decided where kids work. Just remember on your lowest of days, we picked this job, and no matter what it is, I wouldnt be here if I didnt enjoy it.

The problem with the initial question is that we are held to our agreements to not blab on stuff that happens up there. Now coming from SOB/Gun in 2002, I know some of Drews stories (and Im sure Im part of a few). The nightmare at TR I have day to day is boredom. Thats right, boredom. Its a monster that we all face on every ride. Especially when you get stuck in the TRTR drive box for 3 1/2 hours with no relief in the immediate future. What a last day that was. Speaking of being boxlocked, whats the longest stent any ride op has gone for driving a ride? My personal one is 19 hours (3 straight shifts but Andy took me out of the box in the third. I was just seeing what mental capasity it would take to drive that long.) Whats yours?

It really depends on the ride if the restraints are closed automatically or not. On all coasters, the restraints are manually opened. On TRTR, two things can happen, the PLC will automatically open restraints, and roughly 30 seconds later will automatically lock again. The second thing is that the restraints can be "held" closed by the operator holding the restraint switch to lock, and they will never open (useful for morning test runs) or the operator can flick the restraint switch quickly to close then to open and the restraints will not close automatically.

Think of it this way: You are thinking about joining a club on the internet. In order to get into the club, you must pay a membership fee. Lets say that there are some message boards in this group, and one decides to share with the other members a game that has the Paramount name in it. This is not illigal. In order for it to be copyright infringement, you MUST be making a profit SQUARELY off the product. So, what Aaron is intending to do is legal, since he is not making a profit squarely off the game. Its an enticement to buy a tee shirt.

The only Windows based anything in the park is used for programming. Now what rides need to be programmed?
-
Question for those who think SOB should be a terrain coaster: Why? The park already has the best terrain coaster ever manufactured, so why would they build a coaster that would essentially compete with The Beast?
-
I forgot one thing: I get to see my girlfriend again (sry Shiva, I just dont think I can handle a girl as big as you)
-
Me? Have free time? You jest. If I get free time, now I will be figuring out what to make into a web site, and after that, I will be jumping out of windows to get the adreline rush I need to hang me over another week, and then I will go skeet and trap shooting, which will eat up all my money that I made at the park, and hopefully by that time it will be March (when the employees get to see the beloved park again). Of course, the most I will be looking at is the basement of FX theatre, but hey, its PKI property.
-
Well this year I was up at Perdue for a skeet and trap shoot. Yeah, we drank, but we didnt leave the hotel, so all was good with the world. Isnt this wierd? I shot better with a hangover than I do without. Interesting......

Back when I worked SOB (Ride ops, sounds like the beginning of a PaPaw story, doesnt it?) I would watch them check the guide track. A lot of times they were done by the time we got there to clock in, so we only got a couple of glimpses of this. I want that job, just to ride on the claw to inspect it.
-
This is for PKI employees or employee based questions. You would want to post that kind of question in the Paramount Kings Island forum. Thats what he meant.
-
I will be in Indianapolis with a skeet and trap team, so if someone wants to help me out and take some pics, I would be greatly appreciative!

After they try every concieveable way to drop the ring, or slowly lower it, and the motor refuses, then they would repel. I think, not positive, but DZ has like 10 different ways to lower the ring. Im not positive on the number, but its close to double digits. Oh, and even if the motor was at the bottom, maintenance would still have to go to the top to inspect the cables, the pulleys that would reroute the cables, ect. and for safety reasons.

Steve-o, this was before Drew was working SOB. He was over at Xpress in the beginning of the year. We had 2 sups, and one transferred (somehow) to TR. He ended up quitting. Then, Drew came over, and the other one quit. That made Drew the head sup by default. Funny how the world works.
